Traits:
Armor Expert: You have worn armor as long as you can remember, either as part of your training to become a knight's squire or simply because you were seeking to emulate a hero. Your childhood armor wasn't the real thing as far as protection, but it did encumber you as much as real armor would have, and you've grown used to moving in such suits with relative grace. When you wear armor of any sort, reduce that suit's armor check penalty by 1, to a minimum check penalty of 0.
Grief-Filled: You are no stranger to loss and intense emotions. You gain a +2 trait bonus on all saving throws against emotion spells and effects.
Challenge: Whenever an order of the sword cavalier issues a challenge, he receives a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls against the target of his challenge so long as he is astride his mount. The bonus increases by +1 for every four levels the cavalier possesses.
Skills: An order of the sword cavalier adds Knowledge (nobility) (Int) and Knowledge (religion) (Int) to his list of class skills. Whenever the cavalier uses Sense Motive to oppose a Bluff check, he receives a competence bonus on the check equal to 1/2 his cavalier level (minimum +1).
Tactician - Shake It Off
Order ability -
By My Honor - At 2nd level, the cavalier must select one alignment (LG). As long as he maintains the selected alignment, he receives a +2 morale bonus to one saving throw of his choice (Will).

Backstory:
Born in Cornwall, Sir Tristram began his life as a distant member of the royal family, the great-nephew of the King, and later the nephew of the new King Mark. Still noble, though of the lesser branch, Tristram was taught the horse, sword, and lance, showing outstanding prowess for one so young. When he had come of age, his uncle Mark desired both an alliance with a neighboring state and a marriage.
Mark sent Tristram to England proper to escort a fair maiden named Isolde back to him to be his wife. The voyage started out simply enough, the young knight making quick progress to the court where Isolde was kept. All was well, Isolde's father offering his hospitality to Tristram for a week as he prepared a feast to send his daughter off. The maid was lovely, but the young man remained resolute, determined to see her safely home and in King Mark's home.
The night of the feast, however, something deeper burned within Tristram, and when the two encountered each other later in the evening they started a tryst. The young knight made slow progress on the way back to Cornwall, his mind warring over his obligation to his uncle and his love for the beautiful Isolde. He almost made it back to Mark's court, but turned aside at the last moment, he and Isolde stealing away to a secluded home in a rural area.
When his new bride failed to show up, King Mark first sent to Isolde's father, who of course told him that Tristram had indeed arrived and then left with the young woman. Outriders determined that there was no evidence on the well-traveled road to the coast of a struggle. The search began, with Tristram and Isolde having many months together before a scout happened upon them. King Mark sent many knights to overcome the skilled Tristram, and even so many of them were sorely wounded when they finally fell upon the young knight. Even so, he was defeated by the men and was bound and brought before the King.
King Mark at first demanded that Tristram be executed, but Isolde begged for forgiveness and promised to remain true to Mark and be a most devoted wife in exchange for Tristram's life. Mark finally relented, banishing Tristram from Cornwall instead. With a heavy heart, the young man bid Isolde farewell before riding off to seek his fortune elsewhere. After riding around for a time, he had heard of a young man who had pulled the legendary sword of Uther Pendragon from the statue of Arturia. Thinking that such a man would be worthy of having a servant such as he, Tristram rode off to seek him out and offer his services.
Appearance/Description:
Tristram is tall and broad, stoutly built after all the years of wearing heavy armor and swinging heavy weapons. His dark hair is kept cut short and usually brushed straight back, his green eyes peeking out of a craggy, tanned face that looks unusually weathered for a man in his early 20's.
Tristram has a quiet demeanor, rarely raising his voice. For all his skill with the sword and lance, he is rather shy and not prone to boast. He falls into despondence at times, thinking of his lost love.
