So my group is in Runeforge at the moment. We have had one player just stop showing up and he is gone from the game. Right now, we have 3 players and 6 PC's. However, one player (who plays the Cleric, Druid, and evil Cleric), has decided he no longer wants to play. He has forwarded his cleric to one of the remaining two players, so they have a healer. They want to, and I do too, want to finish a damn AP! We have TPK'd in Second Darkness, LoF, and Savage Tide. Any suggestions for cutting the AP short after Runeforge?
I am coming to the end of this AP, and I am starting to feel that ol' DM burnout...might be having to do with DMing for the past 3 years straight with only maybe a dozen sessions of playing. Needless to say, I want to finish this AP, but I am getting exhausted between work, family issues, the girlfriend, and prepping. Not to mention sports once spring comes up! I owe it to my group to finish this AP, but I would like to cut out some chunks, which sounds bad I know, but the last two modules, specifically number 5, have a huge dungeon crawl aspect which I am not looking forward to. So I come to the wise Paizo community, to ask, which parts of these two modules should I run and keep? I am thinking most of number 6, but not too sure about number 5. Any advice would be helpful!
So we just finished the Fortress of the Stone Giants, and after a brutal battle with Mokmurian, resulting in a PC death, one being Baleful Polymorphed, and one now being a Stone Statue (thanks Flesh to Stone), the remaining two characters ignored Karzoug's monologue and the clockwork librarian. They have little to no info about Karzoug, or about Xin Shalast now. They have some feeling that Karzoug is behind it, but they just left without doing any sort of research or asking questions in the Jorgenfist Library. The survivors are a Ranger/Rogue/Fighter, and a Druid. They have no skills in history or anything so their research possibilites are kind of limited for the DC's to learn about Xin Shalast or Karzoug. I have a feeling, based on the party's complete blunder in the attack on Sandpoint and not being able to track the giants, or having no idea about where Jorgenfist was, they will be completely lost now in the overall storyline. Because they never questioned any Stone Giant attackers after the raid on Sandpoint, and had no idea where to go or do anything, I am asking other DM's, or even the author's, how would I go about nudging them a bit to learn about Xin Shalast, or heading in that direction? To make matters worse, none of the players will even consider playing an arcane caster...not too sure why. Thanks in advance!
So we had a argument tonight at the game table about Short Rests. In combat, myself and another player were the only people standing with 3 others in the negatives. We finished off the rest of the baddies and we said we were going to rest. One player who was at -13 said he was going to Healing Surge because we were out of combat and taking a short rest. I said you couldn't do that as you can't use a healing surge if you are in the negatives. He said there was nothing like that because we were in a short rest. So the question I ask is if you are in the negatives and stable can you use a healing surge if the people who are conscious are taking a short rest? It makes no sense to me since you are dying and you are just like 'oh I am going to heal now since there is no combat'. Thanks for the help!
I was wondering when you get a second utility power if you can prepare a lower level one instead? This came up at the table the other day and the DM was unsure. The Druid in our party has Barkskin, and when he reaches another level to get his next utility power if he can not take the new one, and take a second Barkskin instead. Thanks!
Hey Customer Service people, I just recieved my copy of Pathfinder 19 and it wasnt in the greatest shape. The top is completely bent and the top right corner of the cover is splitting. I posted this in another thread where someone else said something about their PF 19 being damaged. Just seeing if we could work something out since this is the first time I have had a Paizo product show up damaged. Oddly enough the LoF: Players Guide was fine. Thanks,
I am looking to start up a campaign, and I have been going back and forth in my head between Osirion and the Mwangi Expanse. I have come to make up my mind and go with the Mwangi Expanse. I was wondering if anyone could link me to some sites or tell me something more than what the Campaign Setting has for this region. I would not turn down some ideas and sources to draw inspiration from. Thank you very much!
I am currently one of about 12 people who play Pathfinder at our FLGS. We have asked to owner to order in your products but he is currently only looking to get 4e D&D. There is a small market for that but we all want to look at Pathfinder, and so do his other customers. He is unsure if there is any deal or anything you can give his store, or a display and what would be in it. I know some companies offer a display and product for businesses. I was inquiring on the owner's behalf if Paizo has anything like this. Thank you and sorry if it is in the wrong forum.
Hello, I am currently just starting up a Second Darkness AP group with some players on one night of the week, and the FLGS wants to continue playing Pathfinder another night with me as their DM. I don't really have the time with running Second Darkness, playing one other night a week, and this game running and prepping 2 AP is alot of work. My question is if I pick up Skinsaw Murders and Hook Mountain Massacre, I already own Burnt Offerings, will running those 3 and having the story end make a decent story without it tieing too much into the whole AP story? Just asking for advice on how to make that work out if need be. Thank you:)
Hey guys at Paizo Customer Service, I sent out an email Friday evening about this order number, and it is a Pathfinder AP Subscription. I had trouble with the bank, and just got it organized last week. It was supposed to the the fourth installment of Second Darkness AP and I was just checking on the current situation with the subscription an order. Thanks alot, Bruce Callan
I posted this in the Dungeon General also, as I wasn't sure where to put this. So we finally have an answer from WotC about the overview of this AP: Q: Can we get a copy of the Scales of War overview?
A: From Randy's latest Digital Insider: The short answer to this question is “no.” The problem is that we’ve mapped out an elaborate plot that covers level 1 all the way through level 30 and there are a number of surprises along the way. Those “grand reveal” moments won’t be nearly as impactful if they’ve leaked out via plot summaries and/or an overview of where the Path is going. I can assure you that the current fears about the lack of a compelling archvillain, or a logically complete structure, or major NPCs, or a real hook are all misguided. Just wait and see! This is from the D&D Q&A for the day. Honestly...why not publish a rough outline like Pazio did for the STAP, just a quick paragraph about where it is going to take place or a villians name. A serious mistake on WotC part, and I am sure this will piss ALOT of people off. I myself was considering running it in time, but now there is a 0% chance I will, and I don't plan on subscribing if this is the crap we get. I am a fan of 4e, and was excited to see the first AP, but now, not at all. Oh well. Just thought I would share and see how you feel about it.

As I am preparing my group for the STAP (using 4e) I was wondering how to play up the relationship between Vanthus and Lavinia a bit more. I was wondering if anyone online had a document or notes that would provide a bit more of a background for Vanthus' 'love' of Lavinia and any ideas on how to show it more in play. Also any pointers for There is No Honor would be welcomed also:) Thanks,
