Male Human Bard (Detective) 1

Knowledge (Local): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26 Edric attempts to recall any information he might now about Valen Traneir.

"Very well, I'm not one to turn down assistance nor kindness, but please, allow me to introduce myself. I am Sir Edric Phantomheim, investigator by trade, blood, and passion." Edric says as he walks into the building, making sure to tidy up as bit (casts prestidigitation to make himself more presentable) as to not cause too much trouble for his new host.

"Perhaps you might enlighten me as to how I ended up here, and is it possible for me to get a something to drink good sir? Water would be very much appreciated."

Male Human Bard (Detective) 1

Still suspicious, Edric lowers his guard ever so slightly as he sizes up the bearded man.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

"Pardon me Sir, but do I know you?" He asks before moving towards the door, pausing once more at its frame to peer inside.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

Edric stands up and looks around attempting to pinpoint the footsteps' origin as he reddies to draw his sword once more.

Acrobatics: 1d20 ⇒ 6

Male Human Bard (Detective) 1

Edric moves as if to draw his sword and stand his ground, but stops at the last second, backing off as a new plan forms in his head. Once he's far enough away he turns around and runs at full speed around the building. "I'll have to time this perfectly." He thinks to himself, while preparing the spell he has in mind.

We taking the weekend off?

I have no ranks in those, nor refrence materials, so if a dc 10 doesn't do it I wouldn't't be able to identify it anyway. For now I'll stick with buying more time, and consult members with those skills afterwards.

Edric chucks anything loose he can easily grab and yells; "Come on you sick freak, come get your supper!"

After that, Edric falls back, placing himself just beyond the other side of the window he climbed out of. "I'm trying to lure it over here, and I seriously doubt it understands any types of languages we'd be familiar with. If anyone feels particularly dairing, I think I can lure it underneath the window. Arrows won't be much use, fire and steel however.." He calls out back into the room.

Male Human Bard (Detective) 1

Yeah, if I can help it, I'm not trapping myself in a room with Pyramid Head, thank you very much. >_<

Male Human Bard (Detective) 1

Edric calmly retrieves his items from where Devana had been sitting and then moves over to the pew she had been standing on just moments before.
Without saying a word he climbs up Climb: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10 onto the window and looks out Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12, checking the area, especially for enemies and the ground right below him on the other side.

If the coast is clear, and the ground before him stable, he drops down and initiates a stealth check, Stealth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 moving north along the building's exterior wall towards the corner flanking the door. When he reaches it, Edric partially peeks his head around just enough to catch sight of whatever is dismantling the door.

Male Human Bard (Detective) 1

Edric does a stop drop and roll routine. Assuming he can put the flames out with that, and nothing interrupts him, he follows that up with Cure-Light Wounds and then Prestidigitation to clean himself up. After thatz he does a Perception check.

Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Male Human Bard (Detective) 1

Is that a momentary flare of fire or do I need to extinguish myself?

Male Human Bard (Detective) 1

Oh Gawd! I hope him twisting that head doesn't start a fight. If so, I'm probably convulsing right now, Ceiro is in medatation, Devana is recovering, and you are on top of it. XD

Male Human Bard (Detective) 1

Oh that 1 is going to hurt. I'm probably going to end up using Cure Light Wounds on me instead. XD

Male Human Bard (Detective) 1

Edric nods and retrieves his journal, taking it, a pen, and a vial of ink he offers them up to Devana as soon as she seems stable. "Write down everything you can recall, before the memory fades. We're still at a crucial stage of getting our bearings here, that information could mean the difference between life or death, and while I had hoped to test those eyes in a few moments we might as already get it over with then." With that Edric backs off, braces himself, and replicates Devana's action with a different eye.

Will: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 & Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
To figure out what's happening to her.

Male Human Bard (Detective) 1

Edric abandons his current investigation and moves to aid Devana, prepping to cast a Cure Light Wounds spell just in case.

Male Human Bard (Detective) 1

"Brilliant deductive reasoning Devana. I must admit, you've got a keen mind. That will come in handy I assure you." Edric moves to go check the bottom of Cerio's "slab" to see what caught his intrest before he went into meditation.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

If he finds anything intresting he checks the others to see if they differ.

Male Human Bard (Detective) 1

ET. and Arodus are both right in their assessment of my intentions with this, + my character has no concept of PC vs NPC. It's simply what Edric would've done, just like he's been sizing all of you up from first post. That's actually why he initially ignored you Devana, he wanted to see how quickly you'd think of moving the pew and if you'd try to do it yourself. Thus far you're ahead of the pack by his books, with good natured Arodus falling behind. XD Cerio remains a mystery for now.

Anyway, Edric isn't the type to force anyone to do anything, and even if he was he currently lacks the skill points, feats, spells, and/or class features to do so.

Also ET. any results with those spells yet. By Edric's books not even being able to determine a North is valuable information as well.

Male Human Bard (Detective) 1

Edric gives Arodus more exact instructions and finishes up with "But please, secure the room first, then look for the inscription. If anything were to barge in right now, I'd dare say we'd be most thoroughly screwed."

Male Human Bard (Detective) 1

"None taken." Edric calmly replies to Arodus while contiuing his investigation. "Frankly, I don't trust any of you, and I certainly wouldn't trust me if I were in your shoes. But right now neither of those is an option we can afford. So for the time being, I suggest we work together."

Edric pauses for a brief moment while giving something a second glance, then resumes. "That being said, would you kindly read aloud the passage written on that statue's leg once our companion finishes his meditations. Until then, might I suggest you check and secure any entrances. We appear safe for now, but that might not remain so."

Turning his attention breafly towards Devana, Edric wordlessly moves to assist her with the pew, then returns to the center of the room. "As for my introduction, my dear lady, I am Sir Edric Phantomheim, detective by trade, blood, and passion."

The Elusive Trout wrote:
That is correct, but no one has ventured outside.

Edric plans to after we've exhausted our search inside.

Male Human Bard (Detective) 1

"That settles it then!" Edric exclaims. before looking to his new found companions.

Using Tireless Logic in conjunction with my Oratory feat to make a diplomacy check against the others.

Linguistics: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19
Linguistics: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21

"Well, what are you all waiting around for? To die of old age perhaps? If not, then I suggest you each begin searching this place from top to bottom for clues. I can do it myself, but it would be far quicker, not to mention much more thorough, if we work together here. Besides, we can always chat and speculate while we search."

Regardless of the others choices, Edric moves into the center of the room and performs the following actions in this order:
1) Casts know direction.
2) Casts light and prestidigitation on a candle floating it a few feet above his head.
3) Casts detect magic as he begins to scan the room for any unseen clues, taking a full 3 rounds to concentrate while scanning.
4) Preforms a new perception check.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

If Edric notices anything new he calls out for the nearest party member to check it out. Assuming they do, he moves onto something else, If not, he goes to check it out himself.

Male Human Bard (Detective) 1

'"Now that's a start." Says Edric, just loud enough so that the others can hear him, as he pulls out a small book and pen, transcribing the message into his journal for later reference before pondering its meaning, as well as any possible hidden messages, in further depth.

Linguistics: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22

"Hmm.. I do believe we need a key of some sorts." The detective mumbles.

Male Human Bard (Detective) 1

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

Edric gives Arodus an aquesant nod while he observes each of his new companions one by one, taking quick mental notes of all their distinguishing features, manners, and visible equipment. Once he's certain that none of them pose any immediate danger, Edric walks over to the statue and begins to examine it in further detail, while still listening to their conversation.

Male Human Bard (Detective) 1

Edric jumps to his feet, visibly startled, as if awakening from some terrible dream. Almost immediately, he regains his 'usual' composure; calm, collected, observant. Without wasting further time nor effort he begins scrutinizing his new surroundings, casting aside a hundred questions that fly through his head. "Where am I? How did I get here? Is there anyone else?"

When finally satisfied that he will retrieve no answers from simply standing about, the detective begins moving with a practiced, well-controlled pace, just fast enough to taken in every detail at a glance, while keeping him both silent and a more difficult target to hit.

The odd man out:
Unlike the others Edric, does not yet know he is dead. His last memories are of leaving the Lost Cliff Asylum and starting out upon the fog shrouded road.
