For the love of the gods can we please get adventures, especially these shorter APs that start at a higher level? So much low level material exists, how about giving people something else for a change?

The Synapse Worm has Improved Combat Maneuver (Grapple). Does that mean if it has a target grappled, on the following round it has a +14 to it's bite attack role or only needs to hit it's targets KAC in order to maintain the Grapple?

Answered in the rules questions forum.

Clutch works like Pathfinder grab. After the attack hits normal KAC, a grapple combat maneuver check is made as a separate roll as a free action. In that case, the feat would give the grapple check only a +4 to hit. Barring other bonuses, that would mean a grapple that had to hit KAC+4.

In the case of a creature that has grab and improved combat maneuver, 2 things can happen:

1. The creature bites. If it hits KAC, it does damage. If it hits KAC+4, it does damage and also grapples. The feat does not change this in any way.

2. The creature does not attack, but instead makes a grapple combat maneuver. If it hits KAC+4, it grapples. This would have been KAC+8, without the feat.

EDIT: I also just checked the creature you're asking about. There is no case where it grapples on less than KAC+4. The feat is basically useless to it.

Thank you HammerJack!

EDIT: If a creature had the Clutch ability of the Rauzhant (Dead Suns 1, not used in the AP), which makes a free combat maneuver roll to grapple, after hitting with the bite, then the feat would matter.

So then I would only have to hit KAC then?

Ravingdork - It's from the new AP.

If a monster has Improved Combat Maneuver (Grapple) with a bite attack with Grab of +10, and it has a target grappled, does that mean on the following round it has a +14 to the bite attack role or only needs to hit the targets KAC+4 in order to maintain the Grapple?

I use a Plasma Rifle for mine. It doesn't come up every game, but when it does it is nice to have a line weapon ready to go. I'm really tempted to mount a Grenade Launcher onto the Plasma Rifle but I have yet to sit down and read Armory to see if I can actually do that.

Biggest downside is the Plasma Rifle is Unwieldy but hey it was a dropped weapon anyways, I didn't pay for it.

Question about the "Two starship-scale heavy laser cannons mounted on three roof". Why is it 4d8 not 4d8x10?.

If I'm right, it'd be 4d8 vs. starships and 4d8x10 vs. not starships. But the guns can't shoot people on the ground because of the angle they're at, so no reason to worry about that x10 damage. Should be on page 7.

Man I'm blind, it's literally explained in the next sentence.

As a gm I'd just tell the players something along the lines of "the building can't supply full power to the guns".

Those aren't covered by the CUP yet. So you're violating their copyright by posting that. Personal use is one thing, posting it is another.

Whoops, didn't think about that. File no longer shared.

So I'm waiting on the PFS Prep forum to be created for Skitter Shot so I can upload it, but in the meantime, here are my GM notes for Skitter Shot.

Player Cheat Sheets will be coming later.

Very sweet, I'll definitely use this! I did notice the rules for poisons are not listed. That damage for just entering the radiation could be fun thematically.

The ranged attack bonus of the miners should be +5
There are some other clarifications and errata in that thread, as well.

Awesome thank you.

Anyone know what the miners add to their ranged attacks? It only states the weapon and its damage.

The pilot has 2 ranks in Piloting (+2), and the ship is Large size (-1), so an AC & TL of 11 is correct.

Then shouldn't the Loreseeker's AC & TL be 12 not 13?

Dataphiles

Expecting to run this a couple times I entered all the ships on the Starship Control sheet with extra GM notes. Can someone tell me where I got the math wrong for the first enemy ship? When I calculated the AC and TL out it came to AC: 10 TL: 10. +1 for Piloting but -1 for Large Size. But the scenario shows AC:11 and TL: 11. No armor or defensive systems listed.
