GM Background:

It is the practice of the Kellid tribes of the Realm of the Mammoth Lords to keep as slaves the children of the Hill Giant tribes they slaughter. It has become the habit of some small tribes of Giants to return the favor, capturing the children of the Kellid. Sindri can attest to this, as his childhood was spent toiling for such a band of giants.
His life was fear, misery, and torture, as the giants were not simply a roving tribe, but a band controlled by a villian- a follower of Zon-Kuthon who used them to further his evils. But that misery changed one dark night when he recieved a vision- a vision of beauty even in his straits. The sky was lit up by a comet with a rainbow tail- a sign he took both as a reminder that beauty exists and the only misery was not to recognize it and as a calling, beginning his self training as a cleric of Shelyn, who accepted his devotion.
Freedom came when a dying elven sorcerer captured by the giants and destined for the larder, gave him three gifts. A still charged wand of 'Knock', instructions on how to use it, and the location of an infrequently used, but not too distant trade route. Learning how to trick the wand into use took some time. Killing as many of the unsuspecting (and sleeping) giants as he could reach happened quickly. The duration of his escape in a fierce snowstorm he never determined. All he knows for sure was that when he awoke, he was being tended by an elf he learned was called Variel the Mad. On his escape, he took with him all that he could carry of the treasures entrusted to the band of giants by their master, hiding them where they won't be found.

A small man, with age indeterminate due to both youthful features and the presence of greying hair and a worn, gnarled body. A smile etches permanent grooves on his face, yet his gait and stance are awkward, with the indication his body has suffered numerous untreated injuries.
