Gotcha, I've been eyeing Hero Lab for a while and it looks like a pretty robust and versatile tool, not to mention that it's very intuitive and easy to use, so I will be picking it up soon. While it would be ideal if the aforementioned modification and customization options were already implemented, it's evident you guys are committed to consistently improving your product. I think that's commendable and I congratulate you for it.

I see. That's a possibility worth contemplating.

Here's a question though, I can only test the Output Hero Statblock feature of the Beginner Box version, because the Demo has it grayed out, but does it differ from the Demo one? I ask because the statblock I generated has some minor differences, like only listing the ability modifiers rather than their total score or not explicitly listing size or race.

Also, does any version include the portrait from the personal tab on the statblock? Or is that a manual modification?

Can I, assuming I have the content purchased of course, manually add a single feat from the APG while not making any other options available (if my GM for example only allowed me to take a single feat outside of the core rulebook, and I don't want the clutter). Can I modify or add entries to the outputted statblock (like describing the character's arcane bond item or other items in their possession, or even an entry for relationships or organizations ran by the character) or would I need to do that by hand?

Thanks a lot for your time.

I tried the Hero Lab version for the Beginner Box and the output statblocks aren't similar the ones I've linked. Unless one can modify them somehow I don't think it was made on Hero Lab.

If anyone can direct me to the tool that generated the one I linked, I'd be deeply grateful.

I am suspecting it is, but I've been trying to find Hero Lab outputs to compare and I haven't been able to find any similar to this one that are explicitly stated to be Hero Lab outputs. The ones I've found (that are explicitly stated to be Hero Lab outputs) are from old versions and look different.

I downloaded the Demo version of Hero Lab to confirm but it doesn't have the Output Hero Statblock available, and I don't really want to pay the price of the program just based on a hunch.

Actually, the results should read

1 3 3 6

Why? 3 * 1.5 = 4.5

And he's talking about using only empower and he's right because the empowered amount is added to the base amount, which is always at least 1, so even if empower fails to add any negative levels you're still doing at least 1. I'd rather use an extra spell level and maximize to guarantee more level drain on average though.

This question must be asked a lot, and I don't know if this is the right section of the message board, so I apologize in advance, but I'm looking for the tool that was used to generate this character sheet.

I've seen this format with other characters linked around here, so I was hoping someone could help me. I'm also open to suggestion to other tool, something that I can use to keep track of effects and whatnot during a session.

Thanks a lot.

I wonder if that's necessarily true. While empower magic doesn't scale well at all with low variable ranges or number of dice, a MEE does slightly more negative levels on average over time than an Energy Drain (5.25 vs 5). The Energy Drain maxes out higher on a lucky roll, but MEE is more consistent, thus more reliable in the long run. Of course, that's speaking strictly about a 9th level spell slot, I would think that a maximized Ennervation is better bang for the buck.
