There are a lot of people stuck in the same boat as you (myself included) in this statement.. I honestly don't know when Paizo will ever address this (if they do at all). What aggravates me the most is that Paizo only decided to stop including a 12+ tier after it's 5th season.. because there wasn't enough reporting of characters reaching those levels. My question is why didn't the cutoff happen in an earlier season?
His stats/feats are as follows: Str- 8
Feats: Spell Focus (Conjuration)
I don't know if I want to take Greater Spell Penetration or Greater Spell focus at level 9.. both are going to be very useful.
Greetings everyone! I thought I'd come to the forums and talk/ask with others who have or are currently playing the Wizard class in PFS. I am playing a conjuration wizard who took the sub-school of teleportation. With that being said, I'm obviously trying to do crowd control (for the most part) while also being capable of providing damage. What are tricks or tips you could provide to this halfling Wizard? The Flaxseed clan would be very thankful for any advice you could share. It's also nice to see other players with Wizards. At my local gaming store, I am currently the only wizard (that I know of) who is in play. There are others who have a character that might have a level or two in Wizard for other reasons, but it almost feels like this class is... under-appreciated at times? Keep in mind this character is level 8 so there will not be a lot I could change, or add. I tend to be a careful player, and that slowly became part of the character itself. Silh E. Flaxseed is a really nice guy (well, halfling) and can usually be found arguing with his scorpion familiar on how spells might be pronounced while also making silly hats (because being a Wizard automatically makes you a member of the fancy hats club).
A young Halfling walks in, a bronze cloak flowing behind him. "No, no, it's pronounced the other way! You've been my familiar for how long now?" There was a series of angry snapping sounds as a small green scorpion sat on his shoulder, "I'm sorry, my little friend. Let's take it easy for now." His green eyes scanned the room for a empty table which he quickly moved over to occupy. Muttering a few words, a book would appear and soon he was pouring over the text.
I am currently playing a Halfling wizard in PFS. Because metamagic feats are silly to take at lower levels (imo), I focused on spells to help my AC first. Mage Armor and Shield stack with each other. I also have a bonus due to race, and I took dodge as one of my first feats. It seems silly to have braces of armor when mage armor can pretty much last an entire scenario, you lose the bracer bonus using mage armor anyways. I also purchased a belt to bump my des and con by 2 points. Bracer of armor are great, but not nearly as useful for wizards as some might think. |
