About Sierra Guisarde

Backstory:

Sierra grew up in a small farming community several days north of Oppara, Taldor. It was a simple and boring life. She would help out around the farm most every day and pray to Erastil like her father showed her so they would receive good crops.

One day the farm was attacked by a rogue Necromancer and undead beasts attacked and captured her parents. She fled with her big brother carrying only her small holy symbol while the farm burned.

They travelled to Oppara to seek help and found that pathfinder agents were searching for the Necromancer. They would not let Florentine join the search so they waited a month there until her brother turned 18.

They journeyed to Absalom and Florentine joined the pathfinders hoping to be able to search for his parents and give justice to the necromancer. Sierra was stuck all alone in the city while Florentine went through pathfinder training. She cried for her parents and asked Erastil why this had happened. After a few months Florentine had to leave on a mission for the pathfinders and soon they would be able to search for their parents. Sierra waited till he was gone and went herself to the pathfinder and requested to join. She would need skills of her own now that she had been left alone. Almost 17 the pathfinder society saw the touch of the divine in Sierra and accepted though she was so young.

She upholds the tenets of Erastil and he has granted her his gifts as a paladin. During training she chose the bow and excelled. Erastil seemed to bless her with the skill of his favoured weapon beyond that of any her age.

The paladins of Erastil are gruff, strict traditionalists. They seek to preserve the integrity of rural life and communities. Their tenets include:

• My community comes first, and I will contribute to it all that I can. If I don’t give back, who will?

• I must offer the poor in my community assistance, but I may not do the work for them—instead, I must teach them to rely on themselves. It is only through cooperation that a community grows strong.

• When danger threatens, I am not a fool. I seek first to make sure the weak and innocent are safe, and then quell the danger.

• I keep to the old ways, the true ways. I am not seduced by the lure of money or power. I remember that true honor comes from within, not from the accolades of others.

• I remember that reputation is everything. Mine is pure and upstanding, and I will repair it if it is broken or tarnished. I stand by my decisions, and live so that none shall have cause to blame me.

• I show respect to my elders, for they have done much. I show respect to the young, for they have much left to do. I show respect to my peers, for they carry the load. And I shall carry it with them.

• I am honest, trustworthy, and stable. If I must leave my lands and community, before I go, I ensure that they will be tended in my absence. Even when duty calls, my duties to my home come first—letting them lapse makes me a burden on my people.

Special Abilities

Weapon and Armour Profiency:
Divine Hunter Paladins are proficient with all simple and martial weapons, with medium and light armour, and with shields (except tower shields).

Aura of Good (Ex):
At The power of a paladin's aura of good (see the detect good spell) is equal to her paladin level.

Detect Evil (Sp):
At will, a paladin can use detect evil, as the spell. A paladin can, as a move action, concentrate on a single item or individual within 60 feet and determine if it is evil, learning the strength of its aura as if having studied it for 3 rounds. While focusing on one individual or object, the paladin does not detect evil in any other object or individual within range.

Smite Evil (Su):
Once per day, a paladin can call out to the powers of good to aid her in her struggle against evil. As a swift action, the paladin chooses one target within sight to smite. If this target is evil, the paladin adds her Cha bonus (if any) to her attack rolls and adds her paladin level to all damage rolls made against the target of her smite. If the target of smite evil is an outsider with the evil subtype, an evil-aligned dragon, or an undead creature, the bonus to damage on the first successful attack increases to 2 points of damage per level the paladin possesses. Regardless of the target, smite evil attacks automatically bypass any DR the creature might possess.

In addition, while smite evil is in effect, the paladin gains a deflection bonus equal to her Charisma modifier (if any) to her AC against attacks made by the target of the smite. If the paladin targets a creature that is not evil, the smite is wasted with no effect.

The smite evil effect remains until the target of the smite is dead or the next time the paladin rests and regains her uses of this ability. At 4th level, and at every three levels thereafter, the paladin may smite evil one additional time per day, as indicated on Table: Paladin, to a maximum of seven times per day at 19th level.

Precise Shot:
A divine hunter gains Precise Shot as a bonus feat at 1st level, even if she doesn’t meet the prerequisites.
This ability replaces her Heavy Armor Proficiency.
