And, most importantly, we all are here to have fun telling an interactive story. If you (or anyone else) feel this is a chore and are not able (or are not willing) to keep up then maybe this is not the game for you.

As you do have someone else who has expressed an interest in joining in, then I will respectfully bow out and let them take my place

Unless I'm mistaken you can only make one action per round.

Feel free to roll for your attack if you want (if not, I'll do it). I'll set the difficulty level once I take into account a couple of other things like cover, other actions, etc.

However, I am looking for for a good description of your intended results (and not intended results if you're up for it).

In your case, I would write...

Questions?

Game on!

OK, this is where my confusion is setting in. I read 002 which asked me to post Round 1 and Round 2.

Now I've read 003 which has moved my Initiative so I only get to post Round 1. I was already writing my response to 002 but needed time to tweak the post and polish it up. However, the Game has already moved on to 003. I thought I had 24 hours.

I see that you've got someone else interested in joining, but there's no slots. I think, before we get too far into things, maybe they should have mine and I'll drop out.

OOC: Can I just clarify what time zones we're all in? I'm on GMT; you all seem to be reading and reacting to stuff before I've had chance to read it!
My Gaming Time starts around 22:00 GMT; I do look and update every 24hrs. During the day (even weekends) - not a chance.

I was setting up a tracking spreadsheet when I noticed something on your PC sheet.

What are your two 'tricks of the trade? One of them is bash and the other...

Also, please be aware that if you are wearing light armor without being 'practiced in armor', you will lose 1 might point per hour...

Fabian

Have completely rebuilt Sica from scratch and re-posted him in Aliases. I had made a complete mess of undoing the character from the solo Game. Sorry

I may be delayed in posting today and perhaps tomorrow. My step mom lost her battle with cancer last night, will have a lot to take care of to help my dad. Good thing Zion is currently hiding out of sight.

My sincere condolences, I know only too well where you're coming from. Take all the time you need and keep strong.

OK, I'll check it again. Will have to wait (is 01:34 here)

Sicar still kept his bow ready and spoke to Dreithik.

"Master Dreithik. These people are obviously suffering from lack of sleep. Maybe you should check out the medicines in the crates, especially as they say it won't help them. They may be lying. I don't think they should be allowed on board yet. I will stand guard."

A Driven Jack who Fuses Mind and Machine

Responding to Dreithik, Sica halts and unslings his bow and readies his arrows, then moves to the top of the gangplank.

"I will stop anyone attempting to board this boat"

Sica searches his (admittedly) patchy memories. Has he ever come across the red-eye sickness before and what does he know about it?

GM TO ROLL
Intellect / Trained: Stored Memories (History) / Effort 1

Action 2
Sica switches his aim to the leader of the new group.

"Come no closer. I will shoot the first person who steps on the gangplank."

If we are trained in a skill should we roll with a +3 to simulate the 1 step reduction, and likewise a +6 with the 2 step reduction for specialized?

Yes, please make your rolls with your bonuses. I know the game mechanics is structured differently but I think everyone will understand if you add +3 if trained and +6 if specialized. Likewise for assets.

Please be specific when you roll; for example:

[dice=intellect check to notice people, trained]1d20+3

Also, you can make all your rolls except your defense and speed rolls for initiative. I will make those and you will need to let me know ahead of time if you want to add effort to them.

Likewise, any roll in which you will add effort must be made by me. I may change this later but we'll start this way. The reason being is that it is very 'tempting' to cheat since you can know ahead of time if effort will result in a positive roll or not and therefore use it or not.

Maps? How do you feel about maps? I'm used to using them but Numenera 'discourages' its use. I just think that they are priceless in situations where knowing where people/objects are is important.

Other questions?

Game on!

Ok, got it

Maps: I use a large area-based system (that I pinched out of the 'Mars Attacks. game

Using the die roller - never mind, just answered my own question.

Just to say, it has been MANY years since I was a player in a Game and I'm really loving this so far. Please excuse any errors at the moment, I'm used to being a GM.

Action 1
Dreithik was stood by the rail of the boat, not moving, however his body language indicated something was wrong.

"Master Dreithik", called Sica. "Are you alright?"

He started to move across the deck towards the nano whilst calling out to the others.

"What is with these people? Are they iron-touched?

A Driven Jack who Fuses Mind and Machine

Action 1
Sica glanced at Deymish but the captain was still out of it, embraced with his boat’s sail. He looked to see where the others were, Agia and Antar Es were on the dockside, Zion was nowhere to be seen and Dreithik …
Intellect: 1d20 ⇒ 1 vs, Level 5(15) (Inability)

A Driven Jack who Fuses Mind and Machine

Sicar starts to sing a song under his breath
"My name is unimportant, and my job you could call mean
But I like the work and I do it well
And thst's enough for me
I think there was a time when I could do and did much more
I have dreams in which I captain the ship and hear the ocean roar"

He paused, distracted by a commotion on the quay.

A Driven Jack who Fuses Mind and Machine

Zion, Can I join you and Antar for lunch? We need to get to know each other.

A Driven Jack who Fuses Mind and Machine

Action 1
Sica stood in the prow of the boat, watching the banks of the canal scrolling past. He was struggling with his internal thoughts. What had happened to him, why were there huge gaps in his memory and why was what he could remember very patchy? There was only one way to find out; he needed to talk to people. He turned and listened to Deymish.

“Master Deymish. Have you delivered here before?”

The Glaive Antar Es might be the best person to speak to first; after all, he is a fusion of flesh and steel.
Sica moved towards Antar Es, but paused when he saw the woman Agia join him. Non-the-less, he carried on and joined them.

“My greetings to you. I am Sica Sendrillar, a …, well, you can call me a seeker of a purpose. Why did you sign on for this job?”

Action 2
“No offence Master Deymish, but I will pass on the insect supper. I perceive that it may be an acquired taste.”

Having observed the behaviour of the sail; Sica looked to see if there was any way of sleeping off the boat. However, Deymish had dropped anchor in the centre of the channel and, short of swimming, there was no way to get to the bank.

Is this normal practice in Seshar?

How are the others reacting to travelling on a ship with a carnivorous sail? Sica noticed that Agia hat a pet bug of some kind, so he went over to stand with her.

Action 3
Sica was in the middle of the boat when he heard some cries that people were approaching.
(Inability -1 to all Perception Tasks)
Intellect: 1d20 ⇒ 3

Due to your ability to make people lose their memories, Sica would not be happy about this. He has lost too many and has too many gaps in those he has to risk losing any more

I agree, but considering this would be sort fo our first meeting, I don't think each others abilities are very open as of right now.

Sorry, should have qualified the post - that was a suggestion for consideration in the future
