I've seen it twice now and man it's easily my favorite movie of the summer so far. There's a reason why this movie has a 100% Rotten Tomatoes Score after 32 reviews. Simple premise and story. Baby, who is a wheelman, is working to get out from under his boss to whom he owes a debt. Meets a girl and falls in love and now really wants to leave the life. But of course, complications arise. Very straightforward. But it's the execution of all of these familiar elements that puts this one way above other movies of its type. At times very high octaine and other times a suspenseful slow burn this movie makes use of music and action in a way that you seldom see these days. This movie wasn't made, it was CRAFTED. And it's all heart. Directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World's End, Scott Pilgrim vs The World) starring Ansel Elgort, Lily James, Kevin Spacey, Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx, Jon Bernthal, Flea.
...Oh boy.
I hope the backlash isnt too bad.
I trust Jason Aaron to continue telling good Thor stories. The previous Odinson will still be around. I'm curious as to who this new Thor is.
Here's the Deadline Hollywood link because the Star Wars site is getting pummled... Star Wars: Episode VII Cast Announced April 29, 2014 The Star Wars team is thrilled to announce the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. When nerds try to say that they are more tolerant than others being a black guy that's been playing and running RPG's for about 30 years and have been into comics even longer? I can say unequivocally that that's BS. I just listened to Ryan Costello Jr and Reaper Bryan make that statement in one of the recent Know Direction podcast and became enraged. ENRAGED. I just read the OSC thread here where posters basically blow off racisim as not that big of a deal compared to gay rights while some of them IN THE SAME BREATH cite the fight for gay rights as the same as the fight for civil rights. As a straight black male who actually doesnt see any difference between the fight for gay rights and the fight for civil rights or any difference between homophobia and racism it feels like a betrayal. It doesnt change my views but I cant help but be a little angry. Anyway this is just a reminder for those who just love to say that racism is dead or just not that big of a deal or than no one sees black people (especially black men) like that: Donald Glover talking about the fan response to him wanting to be Spider-Man
This order shows that my copy of the ROTRL anniversary edition is going to be shipping with some of my other pre-orders in August. Coupled with the double shipping of AP's and the Ultimate Equipment Book in August I'm going to be KILLED cash wise. Is there any way to have my ROTRL HC moved up to be shipped with THIS months double shipping (oy!) of AP's instead? This way for July it's the two AP's, the Character Folio and the ROTRL HC as opposed to August when it would be the two AP's, Ultimate Equipment, The Bestiary Box, The ROTRL Pawn set AND the ROTRL HC? Thanks in advance!
My plan is to print out an enlarged PDF of the Inner sea map and tag where 3rd party dungeons / encounter areas could be set. For example, where could I place Rappan Athuk?
Where could I place Homlett? and the Temple of Elemental Evil? Also Do I replace the Zuggtomy and Iuz? or just use them both as is? A1-4? G1-3? Any ideas will be welcome thanks.
Uh-oh and what does this mean for Paizo's random mini set up of people can just get WOTC's mini's and know what they're getting. Also WOTC is a much bigger company than Paizo and can probably make more and put them out at a lower price point. As for previous editions, it sounds like they'll do hardcopies as one of the other statements was that they're still trying to figure out how to price their PDF's.
HERE
OUCH. Despite my strong feelings about 4E and the fact that I'm not really a customer of thier products anymore it still sucks that d00dz are getting laid off like this. EDIT: Just to clarify. I wasnt trying to say that Slavicsek got laid off, but alluding to the fact that WOTC does this every year and there are more to come according to both @mforbeck and @monteJcook on twitter....
I'm looking to do a series of adventures with a Meetup group using a few classic modules.
I say remix because I've split up the caves into several encounter areas around Kendall Keep as opposed to having all of the caves in one ravine like area. What I'd like to get input on is where on Golarion should I place the Keep and it's environs? The Mwangi Expanse is out of the question as I have something else planned for that area. But anywhere else would be cool. Also, I plan to have the follow adventure be the Moathouse from the Village of Hommlet. As an aside, any ideas as to which deity the Temple of Evil Chaos should belong? Thanks is advance.
I wonder how the retailers who jumped all over Paizo and Green Ronin are going to respond to this...
