Animal Focus (Su) As a swift action Shandra can take on the aspect of an animal, gaining a bonus or a special ability based on the type of animal emulated. This ability functions as the hunter's animal focus class feature, though it applies only to Shandra and not an animal companion (see shared focus). She can use this ability for 1 minute per day per ranger level. This duration does not need to be consecutive, but it must be spent in 1-minute increments. She can emulate only one animal at a time. Bat: Shandra gains darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. At 8th level, the range increases by 30 feet. At 15th level, she also gains blindsense with a range of 10 feet. Bear: Shandra gains a +2 enhancement bonus to Constitution. This bonus increases to +4 at 8th level and +6 at 15th level. Bull: Shandra gains a +2 enhancement bonus to Strength. This bonus increases to +4 at 8th level and +6 at 15th level. Falcon: Shandra gains a +4 competence bonus on Perception checks. This bonus increases to +6 at 8th level and +8 at 15th level. Frog: Shandra gains a +4 competence bonus on Swim checks and on Acrobatics checks to jump. These bonuses increase to +6 at 8th level and +8 at 15th level. Monkey: Shandra gains a +4 competence bonus on Climb checks. This bonus increases to +6 at 8th level and +8 at 15th level. Mouse: Shandra gains evasion, as the rogue class feature. At 12th level, this benefit becomes improved evasion, as the rogue advanced talent. Owl: Shandra gains a +4 competence bonus on Stealth checks. This bonus increases to +6 at 8th level and +8 at 15th level. Snake: Shandra gains a +2 bonus on attack rolls when making attacks of opportunity and a +2 dodge bonus to AC against attacks of opportunity. These bonuses increase to +4 at 8th level and +6 at 15th level. Stag: Shandra gains a 5-foot enhancement bonus to its base land speed. This bonus increases to 10 feet at 8th level and 20 feet at 15th level. Tiger: Shandra gains a +2 enhancement bonus to Dexterity. This bonus increases to +4 at 8th level and +6 at 15th level. Wolf: Shandra gains the scent ability with a range of 10 feet. The range of this sense increases to 20 feet at 8th level and 30 feet at 15th level. The range doubles if the opponent is upwind, and is halved if the opponent is downwind. Favored Terrain (Ex) Shandra gains a +2 bonus on initiative checks and Knowledge (geography), Perception, Stealth, and Survival skill checks when she is underground. When traveling through her favored terrain, she normally leaves no trail and cannot be tracked (though she may leave a trail if she so chooses). At 8th level and every five levels thereafter, shandra may select an additional favored terrain. In addition, at each such interval, the skill bonus and initiative bonus in any one favored terrain (including the one just selected, if so desired), increases by +2. If a specific terrain falls into more than one category of favored terrain, the bonuses do not stack; she simply uses whichever bonus is higher. Hunter's Bond (Ex) Shandra forms a close bond with Simone, a wolf animal companion. Simone shares Shandra's favored terrain bonuses. This ability functions like the druid animal companion ability (which is part of the Nature Bond class feature), except that Shandra's effective druid level is equal to her ranger level – 3. Shield Bearer When performing a shield bash, Shandra deals 1 additional point of damage. Once per day on her turn as a free action, she may provide one adjacent ally a +2 trait bonus to his Armor Class. This bonus lasts for 1 round, so long as she and the target remain adjacent. Shandra can only use this ability if she is using a shield, and retains the shield bonus to her armor class when using this ability. Shield Slam Any opponents hit by Shandra’s shield bash are also hit with a free bull rush attack, substituting her attack roll for the combat maneuver check. This bull rush does not provoke an attack of opportunity. Opponents who cannot move back due to a wall or other surface are knocked prone after moving the maximum possible distance. She may choose to move with her target if she is able to take a 5-foot step or to spend an action to move this turn. Spells Shandra gains the ability to cast a small number of divine spells, which are drawn from the ranger spell list presented in Spell Lists. She must choose and prepare her spells in advance. To prepare or cast a spell, Shandra must have a Wisdom score equal to at least 10 + the spell level. The Difficulty Class for a saving throw against a ranger's spell is 10 + the spell level + her Wisdom modifier. Like other spellcasters, Shandra can cast only a certain number of spells of each spell level per day. Her base daily spell allotment is given on Table: Ranger. In addition, she receives bonus spells per day if she has a high Wisdom score (see Table: Ability Modifiers and Bonus Spells). When Table: Ranger indicates that the ranger gets 0 spells per day of a given spell level, she gains only the bonus spells she would be entitled to based on his Wisdom score for that spell level. Shandra must spend 1 hour per day in quiet meditation to regain her daily allotment of spells. She may prepare and cast any spell on the ranger spell list, provided that she can cast spells of that level, but she must choose which spells to prepare during her daily meditation. Shandra's caster level is equal to her ranger level – 3. Track (Ex) Shandra adds half her level (minimum 1) to Survival skill checks made to follow tracks. Wild Empathy (Ex) Shandra can improve the initial attitude of an animal. This ability functions just like a Diplomacy check to improve the attitude of a person (see Using Skills). She rolls 1d20 and adds her ranger level and Charisma bonus to determine the wild empathy check result. The typical domestic animal has a starting attitude of indifferent, while wild animals are usually unfriendly. To use wild empathy, Shandra and the animal must be within 30 feet of one another under normal visibility conditions. Generally, influencing an animal in this way takes 1 minute, but, as with influencing people, it might take more or less time. Shandra can also use this ability to influence a magical beast with an Intelligence score of 1 or 2, but he takes a –4 penalty on the check. BOONS:
Blessing of Malikeen Shandra may activate the figurine as a standard action to gain the effects of endure elements (cold only), and to treat her altitude zone as one category lower. The benefits of this boon last until the end of the scenario. Force of Good As a free action when casting a spell with the good descriptor that deals damage, Shandra can increase the spell’s caster level by 2; however, half of the damage dealt to creatures other than undead and evil outsiders is nonlethal. Ley Line Scholar Whenever Shandra is in Amanandar, Jinin, Wanshou, or Zi Ha, she gains a +1 bonus to her effective caster level for all spells and spell-like abilities. Miracle Worker Once per adventure, Shandra can use the lay on hands class feature as though she were a paldin whose level equals the number of goals she has completed (5). Soldier of Peace Shandra reduces the penalty on attack rolls to deal nonlethal damage with lethal weapons by 2. Once per adventure before casting a spell, she may choose to replace half the lethal damage dealt with an equal amount of non-lethal damage. Trap Intuition When Shandra attempts a Reflex save to avoid a trap but before she knows whether she failed, she can reroll the save with a bonus equal to ½ her character level (rounded down). She must use the reroll results, even if it is lower. Warm Friend in a Cold Land Whenever Shandra is in Irrisen, she can apply a +2 circumstance bonus on all Diplomacy checks. She may additionally bring Uliyara along with her on one mission to any location, allowing her to grant the effects of this boon outside of Irrisen. PFS INFO:
