About Shams Al-Sayyid

Physical: 6'1" 157 lb. light amber eyes and Dark brown hair. Lean but fit.

Raised in Katapesh proper by his single mother. His mother described his father as a charming young man with a calm and confident demeanor more fitting a man twice his age. He became enamored with her after watching her dance and began a short courtship.

He vanished soon after leaving behind a baby boy growing in her womb. His mother was forced to retire from dancing and provide for her child with her meager wages as a seamstress.

When he was old enough Shams helped to support the household by working as a tracker and trapper for a local exotic pet supplier. Later, using his knowledge of the area he was able to provide guide services to locals and tourists wanting to explore the area.

Many years later Shams began to notice that while his mother and friends all aged and withered before him, his own body seemed crawl through the years. At first this was attributed to being a "late bloomer", but it was quickly apparent that his aging process was much more than just "late blooming".

He began to question his mother about his childhood and his father for clues to his ancestry. She was positive that besides being a very beautiful foreign man he was indeed human. During his questioning it was revealed that Shams remembered a certain nanny that used to tell him stories about the gods and the planes that they hailed from and about all the events surrounding their creations and their interactions. He remembered with special fondness the stories about Sarenrae and her victories over the forces of evil, and maybe even more notably he remembered how beautiful this strange woman had been with her almost glowing golden hair and bright emerald green eyes.

His mother became visibly confused and uncomfortable as she informed him that the days she was forced to leave him home alone, she would lock the house down tight as she could not afford to have anyone watch over her son. There was apparently no nanny she knew of and assured Shams he must have imagined it all.

Many years later after his mother passed on as an old woman and Shams still appeared to be no more than a young man he decided it was time to leave Kelesh. His childhood friends were becoming old men and with no more clues as to his origins he decided to set out into the world to find his past and forge his future.
