- BACKGROUND -:

Sevram Septimus, son of the Septimus family proud holders of a radish field and six goats. They were one of the best living families in the whole town, but even for them a third son was difficult to maintain.

After Sevram 6th birthday the kid was expected to help carry water, attend goats births and help around the fields. Instead the sickly boy spent most of his days in bed, making her mother or his older sister spend precious time taking care of him instead of working.

Despite his parent's love the burden of caring for a sickly kid was too much for the family so they took a decision, after the lucky birth of two female goats they could afford to give one to the nearby monastery in exchange for them taking the boy under their care.

Sevram first months at the monastery were even harder than back home. Novices were expected to wake up at dawn, and he and a few other kids were tasked with having their breakfast ready, so everyday an hour before sunrise Sevram got out of his bed and into the kitchen. This was just the start of his day, after brakfast he had to help novices to clean the halls of the monastery, then he had to clean after lunch while the abbot and the other ordered monks went to meditate, although to Sevram it looked like they just took naps.

Then he had his lunch, some bread, some left-overs and whatever the kids had been able to sneak. And in the afternoon he was expected to copy volume after volume of old writings. This was extremely difficult for Sevram, since he barely could read, but some of the books had images, and that made it worth. Even though the monks under whose watch they were expected to work, punished him once and again for spending too much time looking at the same page. Those pictures showed him a world of great generals, magnificent strategist, large armies battling in a dance of tactics.

His sicknesses kept him in bed some days, but once he recovered he was expected to make double the work as a punishment for his weakness, to teach him that in these dark times no man could afford to be a burden to others.

For his fourteenth birthday Sevram was already taller than most of the other boys in the monastery, even taller than some adults. His sickly constitution was giving way to that of a strong well formed man. His duties changed, he was about to be ordered so he should spend more time studying religious texts and less doing menial labours. He loved his teenage years. He spent most of his day in the library reading everything that fell in his hands. And every evening before going to bed he would put to practice old scientific theories about exercise and sport to keep himself fit.

Once he was eighteen he was assigned to the personal retinue of the abbot, where he was taught about the art of diplomacy, of subtle lies and half-truths, and how many different peoples where in the world. He was tha abbot's aide before his twentieth birthday, he took charge of security during his travel and was able to knock out an orc with just a blow. But he was even more valued as a scholar, one of the more knowledgeable historians in the surrounding lands, a speaker of half a dozen languages, an expert engineer... but a poor theologist.

A couple of years after becoming the abbot's aide the old man suffered a stroke and died. The new abbot was a man whose religious zeal contrasted with the old abbot interest in knowledge, and so Sevram was soon just a guard for him. His opinions ignored, his works denigrated. Sevram wasn't able to stand this situation and soon left the abbot's service to dedicate himself to the study of the ancient empire.

During the last four years Sevram has visited dozens of ruins, fought bandits, demons, lycanthropes and adventurers alike. He organized the defense of a halfling village against an orcish raid and was the first to lead the counterattack. He joined a mercenary company but left feeling equally disenchanted at their lack of tactical nous and morals. He met mysterious elves and established friendship with an old dwarf man who gave him long lessons on weaponsmithing.

And he found Legacy. Between the ruins of an ancient military school where he had arrived in search for a text on envolving maneuvers he found a chest, after breaking it open he found inside a magnificent falcata in perfect condition, its blade the keenest he'd ever seen. He took it and has been perfecting his technique since. He called it Legacy, for it was a gift from time, an elegant weapon for a more civilizad age

- PLOT HOOK IDEAS-:

- The ruins where Sevram found Legacy had been thoroughly spoiled. Is it possible that the weapon was put there by somebody?
- The new abbot feels Sevram has betrayed the order leaving without having taken vows, punishing him will make a good example.
- Sevram's family is still alive, maybe his enemies will try to use the against him, or maybe they can help him when difficulties strike,
- Sevram's best friend during his years in the monastery had always had an innate talent for magic but had tried to hide it. When the order finds out he will have to escape or have to use it at the abbot's will
- The village of Lowhill, where Sevram is considered a hero, is once more at risk of being raided by orcs so they send for him.
- The mercenary group Sevram joined has been keeping tabs on him, and will try to reclaim his latest finds for themselves.
