Make him the face of a fictional organisation, a target for the Hellknights to hunt down...its not like they can hurt a fiction." Kazim Cindeo has lived a hard life in Westcrown. Born a tiefling, and shunned by the public due to the taint in his blood, Kazim was largely hidden by his family – ashamed at having a subordinate as a possible heir, and thus he spent a lot of time on his own, alternating between rage and self-loathing. Eventually Kazim realised that if wanted to improve his own lot in life, it was down to him and his own terms. He wore his heritage without shame, and was a firm believer in strength discouraging potential abuse. Any human willing to trade words with Kazim quickly found themselves faced with a cold flat stare full of unrestricted loathing, and soon encouraged them to leave…and quickly. Unexpectedly, Kazim found that his lot in life improved, and amazingly found true love with a human, one of the only people in his life that looked at him as a person, rather than just a result of some dark fiendish heritage. The relationship progressed, and soon after they were engaged to be married. People talked, but Kazim could still strike fear into the bravest human with a stern glance, and him and his sweetheart shrugged off any insults directed their way, determined to not let peoples prejudices dictate how they should live their own lives. Tragically however, Kazim’s lover was found dead in an ally, her throat cut and ring missing, leaving Kazim broken hearted. Swearing eternal vengeance on whoever was responsible, and unable to shake the feeling that the attack was somehow motivated by his own heritage, Kazim decided (privately), that the only way to improve the lot of tieflings in Westcrown was a change in power, and thus secretly started supporting small groups that might support his own views. Coming from a rich family, Kazim still had the connections and money required to be a minor player in this area, despite being shafted by his family into an out of the way role in the families shipping business. questions:

What is your day job in Westcrown? (Your character needs to have a job - in between the "adventuring" you will live your life.) Kazim helps out with the shipping business, mostly doing obscure book-keeping that he often wonders is even needed. That fact that he has been largely pushed out of his family doesn't worry him so much, truthfully, he’s just glad he wasn't cut off entirely, and besides, after his lovers death he enjoys the solitude. Why does your character harbor resentment or frustration against the government? Mostly for failing to improve the lives of tieflings. Cheliax wouldn’t be the only nation where a certain race gets a raw deal, but Kazim has had enough of being treated as a second class citizen, and believes the children shouldn’t have to bear the hardship of having a fiend as a parent, its not as if he chose his father. Furthermore, Kazim constantly feels guilty for his lovers death, sure it was his tiefling heritage that somehow motivated the attack. If true, Kazim places the blame firmly at the feet of the Cheliax government for standing and watching as the discrimination and prejudice got out of control. When did Arael and Janiven recruit you? Shortly after his lovers funeral, he was approached by Janiven. Naturally suspicious, Kazim initially declined, but after thinking it through (and doing some investigating on his own), Kazim finally accepted after determining that both him and Janiven had mutually exclusive goals (some of them at any rate), and that they both had use for each other.
