I mean... I don't mind the post rate, I guess. I just want it to be transparent. That would change the nature of the game in a positive way. And honestly, if we're going to be going this slow, I don't want to do hexploration. Hexploration is boring in F2F, but in 1/week PBP? We'll never be done.

I have a few questions. I hope you can answer them. 1. Where is Eliza? Is she coming back? I understand that she was very ill, and it's totally okay if she isn't able to play, but if that's true I'd like her to be replaced. If she is able to play, I'd like some kind of realistic expectation of when. 2. GM - are you going to be able to keep up a decent pace, going forward? From the very get-go, your own activity has been spotty, with long periods of absence. That would be fine if that's what the game was advertised as, but that's not the case. I'd like you to be transparent about how often you feel you can realistically post. 3. Other players - where are you at with this game? I feel myself losing connection to Serena, and spending 23 real-life days rooting out a single random spider isn't helping.

Serena squeezes tighter. The spider's lack of trying to escape helps her out a lot here - she pins the spider against the ground, getting it to a point where it can't even move, let alone bite anyone. Maintain Grapple (Improved Grapple, Flank) -> Pin: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 2 + 2 + 5 = 17

Martial Flexibility - Improved Grapple. Where is Eliza? Serena flexes her muscles, then steps forward and attempts to wrap her limbs around the spider, restricting its movement so that her sisters could more easily whallop its ass. Grapple vs. FF CMD: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 4 + 2 = 20

Serena talks little and focuses on their surroundings. Being from a background of urban poverty, the beauty of the wilderness is not something which she was truly prepared for until she entered it. Even their first foray into the forest did not convey to her this beauty, for she was so focused on stopping the people who had attacked them. She wishes they could travel during the day, so that she could see everything in full color... She considers bringing it up to her coven-mates, but a pit in her stomach tells her that it would be selfish of her to put Eve through any discomfort just for her own needs, that she isn't really worth it... Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 ...This inward focus throws her off.

Olyenna, I'm convinced that your skill totals are calculated incorrectly. The only skills which have a higher modifier than your ability score modifier are Stealth, Swim, and Knowledge (engineering), and you have no racial or trait bonuses which modify your skills. This tells me that you've only assigned ranks to 3 skills. You should have 6 trained skills (2 base + 2 Int + 2 background). Your Know (engineering) should be +6 (1 rank, 2 Int, 3 class skill).

Indeed, we all have darkvision. Should be fine, I think, although it cuts off our ability to see things which are far away. Serena eats quietly, planning over what they'll have to do. Seems like a long upcoming future of slogging through mud and cartography. Perhaps that was something one of them should consider picking up. She goes to find some vellum in order to begin drawing a map. I'm okay with just beginning to explore. I don't really care where. Also, who should pick up Profession (cartography)?

While her sisters create the totem, Serena goes around the outside of the group with a large stick she had found for this purpose. She draws a great circle around the group, and then begins to fill it in with a simple yet dreadful pattern. Taking light steps so as not to disturb her own work, she draws herself in last, completing the pattern and tossing the log away.

From my reading, none of the bandit randos stood up - they took a move action to wiggle out of bedrolls and then a move action to grab a weapon. Is this correct, GM? Also, the bandit leader didn't get up either, it seems. Serena leaps around Evelynda and the bandit leader, hoping that her quick footwork helps avoid being lashed out against in retaliation. She moves to stand next to one of the prone bandits before lashing out against the bandit leader with an open palm. She swats at the leader's dagger, hoping to disarm her quickly. If Jarrah can 5' step downwards or something, that'd give me an additional +4 to this check, so... that'd be great :) Disarm (Prone Opponent, Deft Maneuvers): 1d20 + 4 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 4 + 4 + 2 = 30 - - - - - EDIT: Forgot this, Acrobatics to avoid AOO (vs. CMD - 4): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Linking herself up with Olyenna via their coven bond, Serena whispers towards the older changeling - "Wait for me to charge. Then you and Evelynda take out the sleeping ones. I'll keep the awake one busy." Then she focuses, readying herself for combat. She waits for the axe-thrower to throw away all of her axes. Then, as she starts to amble over to retrieve them, Serena charges the woman, going low and sweeping out her legs in a gambit to unend her. Coven SLA message on Olyenna. Then, martial flexibility for Deft Maneuvers when it looks like she only has one axe left. Then, after she tosses it, charge into combat and attempt a trip. Trip vs. Axe Thrower (Charge, Deft Maneuvers) ; vs. flat-footed: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 2 + 2 = 16

Hearing Olyenna's bowstring-twang, Serena charges in against the sentry, hoping to sucker-punch him into unconsciousness on her first pass. Unarmed vs. Sentry (Charge, Power Attack): 1d20 + 4 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 2 - 1 = 8

Serena shakes her head, pushing Olyenna's arm down. "You'd have to be lucky enough to kill him in one shot," she says. She squints forward. "How many sentries are there? If there are multiple, I think we should maybe try to take them out at once." "I can wait at a distance and try to sucker-punch one?" she suggests.

As far as I read in GM Nikolaus' rules, only one of us needs to have each SLA in order for the coven to use it. It's just that person needs to be involved in the casting. With that in mind, I'm probably going to pick up: Outflank, reincarnate, speak with dead, Bonded Mind with my first few coven levels. I can count on you guys to pick up at least mind blank and commune. I'd also like to have veil available pretty soon. Something that I need to mention is the role-play potential behind some of those spells that you marked low-stars. None of us are Good, so I wouldn't necessarily rule out the possibility of having a sorta Evil kingdom (although we should maybe talk about that a bit). However, the real benefit behind the coven SLAs is that they are FREE, and we can use them INFINITELY. That means we can curse people as punishment for crimes, or charm everyone we meet at a party... a lot of the spells can be used a lot in non-combat encounters. In fact, most coven spells we should consider for non-combat.

I don't want to search either. I want to kill those bandits who know where we are and then search. Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Serena places a hand on Evelynda's shoulder wordlessly. Evelynda doesn't have to worry about feeling like a burden. "See any tracks, Eliza?" she asks their resident wilderness survivalist.
female changeling spy | stats
"Seems like we just need to track where they went. We go as far as we can follow tracks and if we lose the trail we make our best guess from there," she says. Evelynda - are you gonna be making consumable-use a regular part of your strategy? That doesn't seem totally sustainable. Why not just one scroll of mage armor and put it in your spellbook?
