I'm using Cthulhu as Obox-Ob, or at least an aspect of him. One of the PCs is an aspiring Alienist, so I will have wicked fun with this.

Definately cool.

Many Elrich-esque implications. Have some Chaotic-Evil types be heroes, and what not.

If you should open Dungeon 139, turn to pg 40, and look at section D23 you’ll find a Kobold cook by the name of Churtle. I see that many groups have killed her, others have spared her, and some have even added her to their groups. I’m curious what your group did with her. This is the official Churtle thread. Feel free to share your Churtle stories here.

We haven't started the campaign yet, but I am able to predict with a certain amount of confidence that one of the PCs (The one that kept the owl bear in Age of Worms.) will want to "keep" the Churtle.

I'm thinking I will make Churtle absolutely evil and level up in sorcerer and bide her time.

Filge creeped the hell out of my players. I really played up the dinner scene, actually having the elf zombie start stripping as she approached the Paladin with a zombie come- hither look, so they knew they were dealing someone unbalanced. Filge spent the entire battle giggling and jabbering and had a couple of timely crits ealy on.

When the PCs finally won, the rogue's player exclained, "Oh my God, I thought we were SO dead!"

Now they get to fight the Faceless One. :-)

My players have it in their heads to try the same thing. They'd be happy to know that it went so well for you guys. :-)

Time to dust off the "Deadwood" DVDs...

My group's going to finish 3 Faces of Evil next session, and I've going to go with a variation of the Faceless One is a Similacrum of Darl idea.

In my campaign, Darl has his own agenda (so far undefined) which is separate from the Ebon Trid and the coming of the Age of Worms, but will come across the path of the PCs more and more.

I'll have the Faceless One's death trigger a programmed illusion of melodrama, introduceing himself and promising doom to all the PCS. Darl himself will be made aware of the PCs existence at this time, learn everything there is to know about them, and promptly dismiss them as beneath him.

Then I'll have the PCs find evidece throughout of his presence, and build him up as a major threat, but meanwhile, Darl has bigger fish to fry and so will not be paying any attention to them.

So his attitude on the island will be along the lines of, "Oh yeah. These guys. *Shrug* Well, best kill them."

Something along those lines.

Character: Alix, Elven Wizard

Location: Whispering Cairn.

Cause of death: Gravity.

That wind trap is real nasty. And when they went back next session, they almost went right back to it.
