"We could rest, but only for a short time, we don't have much in the way of supplies. I know you are in pain, Anevia, but the sooner we get back to the surface the sooner it can be sorted out."

Selene doesn't look happy about the idea of pushing the wounded, but she also appears committed to the necessity.

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Selene examines what is left of the corpse, a look of sad curiosity on her features.

"Well, that was certainly interesting. I wonder what led this poor creature to be entombed here?" She shrugs and moves to admire the craftsmanship of the hammer.

"A fine weapon, but one I have no use for. Might one of you find this more useful than what you currently wield?"

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Selene's eyes narrow as claws again skitter harmlessly across her armor. She lashes out with an almost contemptuous blow, sword singing through the air.

Power Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage: 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (4, 2) + 7 = 13

EDUT: Possible critical
Critical Confirmation: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Additional Damage: 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (3, 2) + 7 = 12

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Did Selene hit?

Selene turns her body, turning the striking claws with her armor, and as soon as she is able strikes back.

Power Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Damage: 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (1, 4) + 7 = 12

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Selene will wait for the bomb, then will step up and attempt to lop the thing's head off.

Power Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Damage: 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (2, 2) + 7 = 11

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

"I wonder how long this has been here?" Selene speaks to no one in particular.

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Selene is detecting evil, scanning the area. "Hmm..."

She draws her sword, carrying it at a modified port arms.

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Selene steps up as Alekto falls back. Here, I'll give it a shot. Selene braces carefully and heaves.

Strength: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Selene will hold until it becomes clear that combat is inevitable.

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

I just use the standard browser to post. It's inefficient, but it works.

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Damn it! Still screwing up this whole alias thing.

Selene slips her scale into her pouch, still seemingly deep in thought. She follows the others.

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Selene is going to detect evil, scan the area to ensure no demons ended up down here in the collapse.

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Pulling a piece of cloth from her pouch, Selene swiftly cleans her sword and armor from the dripping ichor left by the wretched creatures.

Speaking quietly: "Scout ahead, but take no unnecessary risks. Best not to stray too far." Selene positions herself near each tunnel as Alekto investigates them.

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Well, if this AP has a progression comparable to others, 2nd level shouldn't be a long wait.

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Ok, let the fun begin Drawing her weapon in a fluid motion as she strides forward, she slides into a practiced stance and delivers a slash at one of the maggots.

Power Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Damage (as applicable): 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (1, 1) + 7 = 9

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

I'm generally ok with the DM making any checks that I don't have any significant input in. Initiative will always be rolled, regardless of what I do, so I'm cool with the DM doing stuff like that if they want to speed things up.

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Is the spider not in the initiative?

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Initiative: 1d20 ⇒ 18

The lights focus on the spider as Selene begins reaching for her sword.

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Also, if I see anything noteworthy I'll send the lights over. And when the spell expires I'll bring it up again.

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

As far as I know, the only time you can't take a 10 on a skill is when the skill explicitly says so (like UMD) or when you're being significantly distracted (like by combat...or bees...)

Yeah, I know he wasn't actually having issues, I was just responding to his actions. It's all good.

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Selene, noticing the kobold's unease, moves the light away from him slightly to leave him in shadow. "Peace, friend, peace. Gods willing, all will be set to rights."

Concern and irritation war at the fibrillations of the noble, but she keeps her voice smooth. "Calmly, sir. I'm sure we'll make it out just fine."

Turning to the woman who introduced herself as Anevia: "Under the circumstances, I expect no one will begrudge you a breach of manners. I'm Selene Kelnir." She directs this last to the group at large.

Finally, turning to the injured elf: "While I have no doubt of your experience and ability, sir, you seem to be hurt quite badly. I suggest you don't overextend yourself."

Taking 10 on all three knowledge checks, I'm untrained anyway, so I can't beat higher than 10.

Diplomacy (Anevia): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Diplomacy (Horgus): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Diplomacy (Aravashnial): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

Ugh...had this post sitting written up for over 3 hours and forgot to hit post. BLAH!

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Selene meet the eyes of the handsome young man and give him a wan smile, but as she opens her mouth to speak again she is cut short by Rukzha's cries. Half-crawling, half-running; she scrambles over to the distraught half-orc. Shoving aside the question of Kenabres, Selene lays a hand on the dead man's forehead and speaks softly. "Rest now. May the Inheritor open the way for you. May you walk with the valorous and be judged worthy." This done, she turns to Rukzha and reaches out a hand to lightly rest on the woman's shoulder. "Do not despair: the Dawn always brings new light." Selene speak with what she hopes is more confidence than she feels. Silently she laments the poise and control more seasoned warrior-priests always seem to have, as the fear and outrage of the day's events gnaw at her innards. She lets her gaze drift around the room. "Is anyone hurt?"

She meets the gaze of the approaching shrouded woman and nods. "Yes, you're right, of course. She looks up at the now sealed rift. "But I don't think we're leaving the way we came."

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Selene coughs violently, as soon as she is able to speak she mutters a few words and makes a gesture. Four balls of light appear in the air and begin floating around the area. "Is everyone alright?" With a grunt she pulls herself upright.

Unless you have issue with this, I'm not going to bother rolling spell failure on cantrips where time isn't an issue, as she'll just cast until she succeeds. Thanks for the info

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Selene blinks, her mask of calm slipping a little around the eyes. She looks down at her own arms for a moment, before the question really registers. She gives her head a little shake, the moment of uncertainty passed, and her smile broadens. "Oh, these? Thank you. Um, yes, go ahead and look."

She looks over the stranger with an appraising eye. Taking in tattoos and scars alike. "You've quite the assemblage yourself. They're very well done, lovely even. As for mine... she angles her arm to allow a better view of the Winged Anhk, "...this is the symbol of Sarenrae; protector and redeemer. One of my patrons."

She leans slightly, craning her neck to get a look at the mask hanging down her back. Her eyes widen a bit as she takes it in. "Now that is something else, is it a battle mask of some sort?"

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Nah, they're just regular tattoos, might take you up on your offer at some point, we'll see.

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Lol, still getting used to this whole alias thing, every post so far I've had to go back and edit because I forgot the switch nyms. Except this one. I'm on it.

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Selene wanders through the crowds, attempting to look at everything all at once. Her long braid lays in a loop down her back, and her helmet hangs from her belt. Thought she is armored her arms are bare revealing her twin tattoos bearing Sarenrae and Iomedae's holy symbols. Her face is calm and a friendly smile adorns it, but inside a small knot of anxiety sits in her belly. After long training she was deemed worthy of her mantle and after the seclusion of the temple barracks and the discipline of the practice yard, this chaotic mass of humanity is a bit overwhelming. Still, despite this she is in high spirits, and is excited to be a part of the festivities. She carefully makes her way to a spot that offers her a good view.

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

@Will Pratt

I like to leave NPC relations a little vague so the DM can feel free to work in character hooks, but if you want me to come up with a few on my own, let me know. She's very young and fresh out of training, and this is really her first time on her own.

Female Human Paladin 1/Sorcerer 1 | HP: 12 | AC: 16 | Touch: 10 | FF: 16 | Init: +0 | Fort: +3, Ref +0, Will +2

Checking in, putting together this alias profile right now. First time I've played a campaign on the Paizo boards, so bear with me while I figure out the the peculiarities. Looking forward to the campaign, always wanted to do WotR.
