What they're doing is making Alchemist more unique. They aren't going to be a caster anymore, they're going to exclusively make alchemical items. That also means that a lot of Alchemist's content will be useful for the other classes, whereas Kineticist material is very tightly locked down to the class.

The psychic classes are a bit of a package deal, I think. It wouldn't make sense for them to have just one psychic class, and they'd need to fit in a lot of unique psychic spells to make it worthwhile.

hm i guess that works although im always iffy of item based classes, a lot of games they fall behind because the whole team benefits from what they do so while useful they dont really have anything they do that noone else in there party can do, i trust paizo to be able to handle it well but still

i mean i feel you could have gotten away with just the psychic as the introduction to psionics and introduce the rest later

it seems like a really weird choice to me for of all the classes to add to core paizo picks the alchemist, i mean i dont dislike the alchemist but feel many other classes are more popular, and would have personally much preferred psychic classes in base, both because the kineticist actually adds something entirely new aswell as having that third type of magic felt like a fun bit of the world, but even then magus, summoner,gunslinger all seem like they would be better fits to put into core


if you wanted to change the current world rather then make a new one with different worlds you could even make it a specific cosmological event, the negative and positive planes arent evil or good but the negative plane is to the "south" of the planar system and thus is influenced by the lower planes which is what causes undead to tend towards evil, evil is literally leaking into the energy that keeps them alive, and vice versa for positive energy, either something caused them to drift closer to the center and loose this influence or possibly turn so there on "east" and "west" makeing it a law vs chaos thing now this would also cause clerics to not be restricted in what energy type they can channel, certainly be an interesting situation, when some of those roaming rotten ghouls start helping people and the chaotic good cleric goes to try and heal someone only to find them rotting there flesh away

personally good undead are great bits of storytelling, i always found the idea innocent people that died and became undead would hate the living automatically , like no im pretty sure that huge amalgam of 50 corpses born of a mass grave of a genocide is going to be a friendly giant whos only concern is making sure what happened to them never happens to anyone else ever again


im really hoping the shifter is another SLA class, it would be interesting to have one whos SLA all take the form of various mutations and new body parts

well yes but most of those are just that, high magic, what makes kinetic healers so much more powerful(again in the context of the average person or society not adventurers) is this is first level, wizards might be able to break s&#$ worse but a first level wizard? nah

but a first level kineticist can be better then even modern medicine
really im 99% sure if it was genetic like sorcery nations would have kineticist breeding programs
another thought i had: since magical healing would require new flesh to be spontaneous generated, one could also repeatedly heal a cow as they cut off bits of it for food to


while obviously not the case for adventurers, for your average commoner or really anyone that doesn't immediately need to get back into battle a level 1 kineticist can pretty much put an entire citys doctors out of business, since burn is the only limit on how much they can heal which can be shifted on to the person being healed, and since its nonlethal the worst case scenario is someone gets knocked out and wakes up in the morning at 100%

sure you cant regrow limbs or cure diseases with the snap of there finger, but being realistic neither can modern medicine, imagine if you could go to the doctor for horrible burns or because your bleeding out and they just slap you a couple times and you go from life threatening injury to good as new in less then a minute, since its so fast and simple even one person would be more fast and efficient then an entire hospital of doctors

and this is not getting into the fact most dedicated doctor kineticists would be Kinetic Chirurgeon and thus could pick up mercys so they could infact regrow limbs and cure diseases with a pat on the back

and with the exception of the mercys this is at level one, if kineticist was a class you could learn rather then just being inherent every single medic in the world would be one, awakening hydrokinetic or telekinetic ability's is like winning the lottery , you got a prestigious and incredibly easy job and are set for life
