I think most everyones was running late. I got mine Friday last week. My friends got theirs last week, earlier. Including the one that got his by UPS.

I'm always hovering around the table.. but it not far from the door, where I'll puff on my cigar.. we leave the door open and smoke anyways. kid in the apartment is why, we keep it flowing out the door. and the smokers sit by the door to let us step out temporarily and still listen in, or so we can sit and let blow the smoke outside.

Well, China and I claim Montrose, actually. And we play favored race/class combos for the extra skill/hit points. And we STILL died in Chimera's cove (but then, we put all of our extras into skill points...)

Oh, well.

Too bad for us the gimped Monk held us back! :P

I personally like using favored class to get the extra +1 hp

same here, rather annoying. I would click my account to check something, asks for password. even at times when I am posting it will ask for password. when I am still on the same visit to the site, and I go check my downloads, or my order history, it will ask for my password. regardless if it was the same few minutes or not. I do get access just fine, but it is needlessly "hounding me" for my password.

and as the others said, about a month ago.

In my own game there has only really been one time where I as a DM felt that a character's death was strongly my fault. The party was attacked by a hydra and I choose a particularly stupid way of deciding how many heads attacked one of the PCs and killed the character out right before they even had a turn. Luckily it was my wife's character and she forgave me for being a total bonehead.

Ohhh.... I'm sure she'll bring it up sometime in the future out-of-the-blue. "You hate me! Just like when you killed my character at.." such and such... :P

Bah, you need a new bookcase. or at least something really stout to handle that mountain you are trying to call a library now... :P

hmm... Maybe should ask the other players if we should chip in $20 each or something to replace our loss... The atmosphere doesn't look the same since you lost it. :)

Jarvis better ask to borrow that rogue's loaded dice this time!

Be warned, Jarvis has a wand of lightning bolt now.. :D
Oh yeah.. I still need to send that character sheet. I'll do it now.

I just picked Elemental and did not realize there were more than one language. In the Beta book I did not see more than one listed and it looked like it was just grouped together as one language. Dwarf racial bonus language is Elemental. Guess they meant for it be (Elemental) - Terran. :P

I really only saw this because I was doing that programming for RPGX

Personally, I think the new rogue is better equipped to keep pace when we reach high levels. I'm just hoping the fighter get some love like that in
August...

*EDIT: we just leveled up, sorry...

Second Edit: I've noticed some 3.5 adventures handle the Beta changes well, and some do not. RotRL is fine, for instance, but "Last Baron" was a cakewalk with all the new goodies. YMMV, I suppose, but it seems like the DM should look over the published 3.5 stuff and make adjustments if needed.

I liked the module just fine. I'm a little annoyed by how fast I can run out of spells as a wizard, but it's just having to manage my power. haha. So, I have to spend my share of loot on making my wands and scribing scrolls, while the melee have to spend on getting magic weapons and armor and such. It balances out in my opinion.

The Rogue seems to be doing an excellent job, and we looking at boosting the rogue with the addition of greater invisibility. We were thrown some nasty stuff at us, so when we were running around without a healer and have a rogue in the party, we were needing the extra damage.

I'd say as is, if just you. I would at least probably buy a "Mario" game too though. I bought my son one, and Mario Kart. I would want to buy the Wii fit but it seems to be soldout everywhere... harder to get that than the actual Wii this year.

Dude, I'm inside the loop, less than ten minutes from downtown. I'm on the "middle side"!!!

I wonder what the gang sign for that is?

3 fingers for the middle side? What about the times I've thrown the middle one finger at the GM? ok it was only one once but it enhanced the realism... lol

After the holidays I should know what my weeknight schedule should be (except for the 0-2 weeks/month I'm out of town).

With 2+ people added (and not affecting a possible weekday Shadowrun game), we might could alternate Pathfinder every other week: one week Runelords or Second Darkness, one week Crimison Throne or whatever, with slightly overlapping player lists to keep the total numbers below 8 each week?

Derek: I like the Shadowrun base mechanics; the setting is straight out of Charles deLint's Svaha; I should be ready to start playing soon.

Fun.. I know nothing about Shadowrun but I'll play.. :P

I want to play Pathfinder more though. All this talk of sides of Houston.. if anyone on the east side.. I'm over on that side.. but I am one of Derek's core players over there on the west side.. until he throws me out.. which i don't see happening.

I need more games to play.. grr... once a week just isn't doing it for me now.. lol

I'm just curious if anyone has been trying to use RPGXplorer for Pathfinder. I know it's not compatible with the SRD 3.5. I've been editing and changing everything in it to make it as user friendly for Pathfinder players as I can. With my current progress on that front so far, I think my group seems pretty impressed with the tool as a whole. I'm thinking of releasing my datasets if anyone else wants to use them.

Let me say this upfront though. This will make your usual SRD 3.5 incompatible. I've had to change numerous things to make it work for Pathfinder Beta. Seeing as how the finished version of Pathfinder won't be out until August, this will let the ones who want to use it, use it. I will post the datasets if anyone wants them when I find a place to post 'em to. currently I have the skills and feats done completely. Races won't take long, maybe an additional day, but the classes will take me at least a week. then after that I will double check any changes with spells, then start checking on all the items. These will be released as individual datasets for anyone interested. for instance, one file as skills, one as feats. they do major changes to the system because of skills combined and deleted.

It's just my little contribution. today was my first session actually using it with Pathfinder. so I was very impressed with it. It sped up calculations immensely, and for details on spells, everything was just hyperlinked. even managing your current spells and your inventory was much much faster. I had our players asking me what this price of such and such was. made it alot faster than having to browse through the print to find it.

Just saying I am enjoying this product alot more since I made it to work only for Pathfinder.

Call yours clerics! The dead are walking again. Might need a Heroic level cleric to take out the beetle guy though. :P

Reminds me of the old Raiders of the Lost Arc bit where Indy shoots the guy performing this feat. There's a failed roll...

haha, I loved that part.

I was wondering, that since so many of us have monthly subscriptions from Paizo, and since X-mas is right around the corner, is there any way to have something like gift cards, or an account setup (i.e. like Paypal) that we could deposit money in and just get deducted from. I could just be talking out of my rear but it's just an idea.

Those are some adjustments that sound good for melee vs magic. If someone says something like encounters could end too fast, the encounters can easily be written to have some defenders for the big bad magic slinger, or some other other obstacle. Encounters should be shaped around the party if the opposing enemies had possible advanced notice about the party. There's no need to run an encounter "as is."

I like most of those already mentioned, but I would also like to throw out Tim Waggoner's name to those that know his work. I especially liked his work in the "Blade of the Flame" trilogy. A little dark, good humour mixed in, and had a good cast of characters.

I know you guys are looking into publishing novels (a good first step to reaching people unfamiliar with Pathfinder) but after that is done I would strongly suggest indeed contacting a video game publisher. If there is a way to advertise better then a good video game, I don't know it. I mean nothing beats pen and paper to me, but a lot of people find out about settings through this way. I know plenty of people who were introduced and grew to love the realms just based on the Baldur's Gate series (even if it wasn't all that accurate, it didn't matter).

Anyway, fingers crossed and all that ^_^

I too have been wondering when we might see some books based on the Pathfinder universe. I always read the D&D books that I could get my hands on, regardless of which Setting they took place in. Would Paizo maybe be willing to hold an occasional contest for aspiring authors that would love to flesh out some characters for the world? I don't know, maybe just give a location out of one of the current source books to use as the backdrop to start. Some sort of short story (okay maybe 50 pages would be best as short), to see what could help grow Pathfinder? Memorable characters are what drew some of us into rpging in the first place.

Mailman for the Post Office in Houston, TX, USA.

Moonlight as a computer repairman. I get more work than you think for word of mouth only advertising.. O.o

I need to ask Derek if he got power yet.. maybe we can play this weekend? that would be great for me if he can.

thought I would resurrect this thread by saying... I finally got power back... was expecting monday but got it back today... wow.. almost 6 full days without power..

grr... I wanna play today.. Sunday... but it's next week... hope your girlfriend is feeling better man. I at least got myself a new toy to tide myself over.. lol.
bought a rc helicopter... but I think I need alot more room than I have over at these apartments... need a gymnasium with no wind to practice in. I about have all the trim settings perfected.. ^^

was bored, so set about posting. Looking forward to next week. If there is a posting with the campaign done in it like some of those are here, let me know.. :D

In fact.. I may just bring an mp3 device and set about recording the sessions. I can listen to the session later in its entirety at my leisure during work during the week... or could make transcripts too. The story, not all the rolling of dice.. haha.. :)

mine is doing that. I added some stuff and clicked the box to hold my order for when my Pathfinder adventure ships. So far everything is holding for that one.
Although I think I may be paying extra in shipping. but not sure. We'll see when it ships. I'm guessing a recalculation of shipping costs will happen when it ships out my stuff. Yes i use it. lol. it's funny. I was never usually happy when D&D stuff shipped to me. They always seemed overpriced and a little inferior on quality concerns some to me. I enjoy getting my monthly shipments from Paizo, who actually stole my loyalty from D&D.. which I didn't think would happen.

Pathfinder is just a great RPG for me. :)

I would love to see a pdf version of these maps :)
Me, too! Me, too! Back in April, Lisa said that you guys were considering selling PDF versions of the map packs and other maps. I would LOVE that!

We did have a meeting in which this was discussed. If we offered PDFs of our map products, a number of customers who are currently buying the printed products would switch to buying them instead of the printed products. Obviously, we can't know for sure how big that number is, but several of us believe that it's high enough to impact the sales of the printed products to the point where we would have to do smaller print runs. Since smaller print runs mean higher costs, that could cause the line to become unprofitable. So for now, it's off the table.

The only thing that could bring it back to the table is if sales of the printed products were to increase enough that we'd be willing to risk a loss of sales.

Then what about making one of the map packs a test run? Just one of them mind you, and see what can happen? Must admit though, some of those map packs are more useful than others. I have the inns, and camp sites, and a couple others. I find em useful when needing to put something together on the fly. Other than that, I do like drawing my maps out, as I can draw. Keep mats around for that reason.

I'm a long eared elf fan myself. Sometimes even those freakish huge ones too.
O.o
Just not the ones that are as huge as Warcraft art makes them.. those are wayyyy out of proportion for me. If it fits, it fits, if it don't, it don't. :P

screw that. I'll stick around. besides... I have to stick around... part of it with the Postal Service being categorized as "essential personnel". Bastards.. first they take my saturday away from me.. then tell me I can't run from the storm like the rest of them.. :P

I must admit though, I have never played a bard. or druid really. just don't mesh well with my own personality. I can play evil or good, just can't play that tree hugger class... lol.

ok. I'll start putting my character together then.. haven't even decided on what to play yet. What classes do we have so far? I've played most all of em.

I'll be there when you say we playing.. I'll be ready. I think. I'll bring my collection of miniatures too so you can figure out if you'll use any of the plastic collection I have that was D&D.. :P

I'll be like that stubborn rash on your girlfriend's... oh wait.. umm... hehe.. :P

bah... so it means I'll need to my own converting. At least you've already got alot of the work done, so you doing RotRL will be best.. :P
I have my CotCT books, so I think I'll need to start getting intimate with my referrences.. ^.-

I'll probably see what stuff I can order to help make things more enjoyable. At least they seem to have enough accessories on the site to make the games very enjoyable. I'll need to order more of the CotCT accessories though. I have some accessories I ordered for the RotRL you can use. Not many, but might help enhance. I have the Item cards from Game Mastery for Rise of the Runelords, and the Map Folio for it. I'll be needing to order mine for the Curse of the Crimson Throne. Or see if you guys might already have them. Or get them myself. hehe.

I'm a sucker for collecting whole sets of things anyways.. I can't help Paizo is making some quality stuff... ;_;

talked with Derek. Might be able to do the Sunday thing. I just won't be able to drink much. lol. We think we were going to volunteer you for Rise of the Runelords, me do Curse of the Crimson Throne, and Derek do Second Darkness.

What do you think? Since we have 3 of us that are experienced gamers, and from what Derek said, I think 3.. or was it 4? that aren't.

oh... and how often will we play? I'm looking for more of a saturday night game mostly.. because I work Saturdays in the day, and I have a son. he's 4. If I play, I'll probably be drinking. and I don't work Sundays. so works well for me.. Not sure I want to be bringing him along though. If he doesn't have a video game... he'll go nuts.. :P
