Also: thanks so much to our illustrious GM for putting up with our complete and utter nonsense! I had a lot of fun playing a Goblin Vigilante with the dark secret that he could read!

Hi Guys,

Apologies for the intrusion but Redelia has asked me to pop in to say that she will be unable to post/play for awhile due to medical reasons.

I’m sorry to hear that. If you see her soon (I don’t know your relationship to her) give her our best wishes!

At the start of your turn ([X] or when you examine a card in a location deck), you may replace your character and token with the Red Raven's. Then you may exchange a card in your hand with a card in your kit.
When you would discard an ally that has Diplomacy in its check to acquire as damage ([X] or for its power), you may instead recharge it.
[ ] When you acquire a boon, you may examine the top card of your location deck.

On a cliffside overlooking the birdcruncher clan, clan, Not-Scribbleface approaches Poog, both staring out over their new adopted tribe.

"You lie to Poog! Bring Bad luck, now Licktoads dead because you use words." Poog spits at Not-Scribbleface, not even bothering to look at him.

"Maybe your right," the Gob Knight responds. "But the Licktoads are gone, and any bad luck I incurred from learning to read is gone with them. I know how to read and the we've paid the price. So now it's time to look forward. I have something-an ability-I can use. And an ability you can benefit from. I use my ability to read to protect the town, in the shadows, and give you the information you need to keep the town strong."

Start of turn-Start as Not-Scribbleface. Examine top card of deck, IT POOG. Switch to Scribbleface, Swap out Lamashtu's Bauble for Thieves' tools.

"Poog no need to read! Poog no need to get things from one who can read!" shouts Poog, turning around just as Not-Scribbleface finishes changing into costume.

Start of turn, display Lamashtu's Bauble. Since Poog has the Goblin Trait, it gives me +1d4 vs. him

"Look, Poog, I found this," Scribbleface says, holding up a jewel. "Lamashtu-the great mother of Monsters, including Goblins, gifted it to me. I can hold it, and it does not hurt me. Is this not proof of Lamashtu's Favor?"

Discard SorrowSoul to explore location, for this exploration, add 1 to all dice which roll 1s or 2s. Bury Blessing, roll random 1d6 ⇒ 2 Poog does not inrease the DC of diplomacy checks.
Poog throws torch at Scribbleface, but scribbleface buries armor to reduce damage to 0

"Over there," he says pointing to a thicket of trees, "Is a man I traded with the other day because I knew how to read. He can help me . . . and the tribe."

"Blasphamy!" cries Poog.

Choose Acrobatics, then diplomacy check. Discard Captain's Cutlass to add 1d6 to a dex check.
Acrobatics 10 vs. 1d10+2(dex)+2(acrobatics skill)+1d6(cutlass)+1d4(Bauble): 1d10 + 1d6 + 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + (6) + (4) + 4 = 18

Poog looses a blast of fire at Scribbleface who just slightly tilts his head to the left and the jet of flame misses him by a fraction of an inch, blowing up a tree in the background. Scribble face starts to walk slowly towards Poog. As he continues to walk forward, he effortlessly dodges fire by sidestepping or just barely twisting his body out of the way effortlessly. Eventually he gets right up in Poog's Face. In an act of Desperation, the Warcaster plunges his torch into Scribbleface, but the vigilante doesn't even blink as the fire burns away his armor. Then the Gob Knight pulls off his mask.

"This is my Mask Poog. I take it off now to show you who I truly am. Not a monster, not a threat. An ally. I've . . . I've learned things from books Poog. Things like . . . I don't want to be chieften. It's . . . it's not for me. But I want to protect the tribe. And with this skill . . . I can. I knew where the old witch was because I read her sign. I knew where the ghost on that beach was because I read that warning. I can use this skill. And you can benefit from it to without learning how to read. I dunno, maybe reading does steal your soul, but if so, then it's only my soul on the line. And I still have enough of it left to want to protect the tribe. So you get everything you want-being a chief, and learning of other dangers goblins would never no about, and no risk to yourself."
Reveal then bury Mask of the red Raven to add 1d8 to the check.
Diplomacy check 12 vs. 1d4(charisma)+1d8(mask)+1d4(Bauble): 2d4 + 1d8 ⇒ (3, 2) + (8) = 13

Success. I'll let Poog decide what he says.

Okay, I think I can win AND net us Squeely nord. Maybe. Gonna be a bit of a gamble. Start of last turn, Choose to change forms into 'not-scribbleface,' then swap out my Springblade +1 for my Menacing Backsword+1. Then Explore . . . PA MUNCHMEAT! WHAT A SURPRISE!

Sneaking around the manor house, Scribbleface finally sees that there is only one room left that Pa could be hiding in. The other Goblins are standing next to the other door so he can't run. Luckily they hadn't noticed him yet. Realizing that he's not going to be able to pull this with his and get away as Scribbleface, he sadly puts his costume away, then shouts.

"Okay, We got him OPEN THE DOOR!"
As he does so, he throws open the door to find squealy nord staring at him, looking angry.
"No, it's okay, whooooos a good boy? Yes you is! YES YOU IS!"
Attempt Diplomacy check to defeat Squealy nord. Use Ak's Blessing of the Gobs. I assume Ak will steal a blessing from the pile? Also, on my diplomacy check, display and then bury Mask of the Red Raven to add 1d8
DC9 diplomacy vs. 1d10+2(chr)+3(diplomacy skill)+1d10(Blessing)+1d8(Mask): 2d10 + 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (10, 1) + (6) + 5 = 22
Success, Squealy Nord displayed next to scenario
Squealy Nord happily Jumps into Not-Scribbleface's arms. Not-Scribbleface sets him down and sends him on his way, while staring at Paw Munchmeet, who seems to be fuming.
"Pa . . . me and youses have one thing in WHAT IS THAT??! Not-Scribbleface points behind Pa, a look of utter terror on his face. Pa wheels around in time to see Poog standing there, dumb-faced. But with the momentary distraction, Not-Scribbleface throws his magic sword into Pa Munchmeat's Back.
Use My Blessing of Hadregash, plus Ak's OTHER blessing of Gobs (steal a blessing) plus Repazzo's Blessing (steal a THIRD blessing?). Plus I'll throw my Backsword at him which adds 2d4 because there are other character's here.
Combat DC18 vs. 1d6(strength)+1d6+1(Sword)+3d6(3 blessings)+2d4(throwing sword): 5d6 + 2d4 + 1 ⇒ (3, 1, 6, 5, 3) + (3, 2) + 1 = 24

Poog sees the utter look of shock on Pa's face at beeing duped by a goblin, before he falls down face first, dead.
We win!

"Good distraction Chief Poog." he says, moving over to the ogre and pulling out his sword. "Oh, and one more thing . . ." he says as he takes his scribbleface mask and dons it. "I'll be protecting the birdcruncher tribe from now on." and with that the not-scribbleface turned scribbleface backflips out a window and out of sight.

Aric/Red Raven 1 (Google Sheet link) Male Human Goblin Vigilante/perfectly normal Goblin

Resuming turn, Using Springblade+1 for combat
A cultist comes clomping up the stairs and Scribbleface brandishes his knife.
1d10+2(dex)+3(melee skill)+1d4+1(weapon)+1(weapon power): 1d10 + 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (1) + (2) + 7 = 10
eye roll. . . I’ll throw, wait, I explored with mindblade, I’ll reroll
1d10 + 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (8) + (2) + 7 = 17
After a prolonged fight, Scribbleface manages to plunge his dagger into the cultist, and the mindblade comes out of nowhere for the final blow. Scribbleface slams the door shut

Recharge quick change mask to recharge mindblade. End turn. Examine top card of deck-Skeleton Horde. Well crap. I guess choose not to change.

Start of turn, it is Pharasma O'clock. Aric Not-scribbleface switches to Red Raven Scribbleface. Trade out Menacing backsword +1 for Blessing of Hadregash from Kit. Scribbleface tries desperately to move to another location but finds that he can't. At the end of the move step he examines the top card-Zombie.

After Poog is done yelling at Not-Scribbleface, the Gob Knight ditches the others and quickly turns back to Scribbleface. He opens a door and peers into it and sees . . . a dead longshanks, but this one is moving! Quietly, Scribbleface brandishes his magic switchblade and attacks the creature.

Scribbleface manages to kill the zombie with little to no problems. He then calls on his Psychic Shortshank friend with the mind bullets to help him continue exploring the house.

The mindblade presses her ear to a door and evidently hears something, she motions Scribbleface to com over. As he opens the door leading to the basement, he sees a bunch of normal longshanks wearing weird hoods gathered around a weird symbol-thingie in the ground.

"Goblins have infested our 'landlord's lair, my master!" one of the longshanks says.
"I know, my agents are in place to attack them and sacrifice them to our god as we speak, including, THE ONE AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS!" shouts another.

Pausing for others to fight Skinsaw Cultists.

Aric/Red Raven 1 (Google Sheet link) Male Human Goblin Vigilante/perfectly normal Goblin

Resuming turn
As Scribbleface opens the first door, he is confronted by . . . A BUNCH OF ZOMBIES!

The zombies pile out and attack Scribbleface and then go down the hall to where the other Goblins are. Scribbleface brandishes his springblade+1
combat 9 vs. 1d10+2(dex)+3(melee skill)+1d4+1(springblade)+1(springblade power): 1d10 + 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (6) + (4) + 7 = 17
and chops the zombie up.

DiscardRecharge (because top card is basic) Poog's Blessing of Hadregash to explore again-Locked Passage.
As scribbleface stalks away with the others busy with the zombies, he comes upon a lock. Even though he knows he isn't the best a lock picking, he decides to try it anyway.
I hate to waste a blessing on a stupid barrier, but I also don't want to shuffle the boss away from the bottom, so I'll discard my blessing on this check.
Dex 8 vs. 1d10+2(dex)+1d10(blessing): 2d10 + 2 ⇒ (1, 9) + 2 = 12
After Jiggling the handle wildly, he discovers that the door, isn't locked at all, just stuck. He opens it and peeks down the corridor.
Card power lets me examine-Flybreath, I'll keep it on top. Also, from examining, I change back into AricNot-Scribbleface. Scribbleface sees Poog's toad is sitting in the hallway. The poor beast seems to give pleading eyes to the Gob knight (as he turns back into his civilian disguise) not to reveal his location to his animal-sider owner, but Scribbleface does not heed him. He walks back to the other Goblins.
"Hey Big Chieften Poog. You loose toad, he down hallway over there."Not scribbleface says , trying to be non-chalant.

Since in his last note Poog has said that he will auto-close the warrens, I'll continue my turn.
The Shiny eye flies to the lich.

The Lich turns around to see all the goblins standing in front of the different exits from the lumber mill. He looks around wildly, wondering why the fools don't attack.

Discard my blessing of Achakek, Ak's Blessing of Hadregash (1 die), Repazo's blessing of the Lamashtu, and Poog's blessing of Zaromgut. Also, I'll take the extra 1d4 fire damage to add that much to the check.

fire damage and bonus to check: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Recharge Shield of fire resistance, discard blessing of Desna.

Suddenly, the shiny eye thing flies to the lich.
"Wait, where did you. . . someone must be close by . . . says the lich as he turns around looking. Then a torch drops near his feet and he looks around again, even more confused and starting to become worried. The fire starts spreading.

"Where-Where are you? My arcane power is-!"

Then out of nowhere, Scribbleface slides in through the fire riding some sort of shield made of ice. He collides with the dead longshank's knees, sending him falling into the flames. He then backflips off the shield/sled and lands on the lands on the lich's back, stabbing him repeatedly with his pocketknife. On the ground, burning, and unable to make gestures with his arms, the lich expires (or re-expires.)

As soon as he is sure the dead longshanks is re-dead, he turns back to the others.

"Thanks for the assist. Have fun trying to catch me next time, 'chieften' Poog; 'chieften Ak." before he backflips again behind the wall of fire and runs off.

We win!

for my own amusement:

Let's see if I could have taken him out with my pocketknife.

Scribbleface crouches low on the other side of the Mill as Poog starts attacking a boar with a club.

Damn Poog, I'm trying to help you! Just let me keep this dangerous thing away from the tribe for now! he thinks to himself. Just then he sees a couple cultists sneaking up on Poog. In his best Not-Scribbleface voice, he shouts "Look out chief poog, SKINSAW CULTISTS!" from behind the mill's wheel. One of the Cultists breaks off to fight him, while the other closes in on Poog.

Sure enough, Not-Scribbleface sees Poog pass up on a potion of some sort and a lovely pick that is on fire. Poog must surely be in a funk if he’s passing by flaming weapons.

Explore-Enchanter. Son of a . . . Just two straight damage no matter what you do. . . And I have some super good cards! I HATE EFFIN’ ENCHANTERS!
Just then he spies a sorceress sneaking up on Poog. He quickly done his Red Raven scribbleface mask and rushes into battle. Leaping off a branch to enter the fray before she kills his would-be chief.
Recharge Mask to switch to Scribbleface
But the enchantess sees him and flings a bolt of force at him, knocking his locket free.
BYA damage, discard hypnotist’s locket
Scribbleface flings his sword at the enchanter’s head from mid-air.
Discard menacing backsword. Since Poog is here it adds 2d4
Combat 8 vs. 1d10+2(dex)+3(melee skills)+1d6+1(sword)+2d4(sword discard): 1d10 + 1d6 + 2d4 + 6 ⇒ (8) + (2) + (4, 4) + 6 = 24
The sword impales the sorceress through the head as she falls dead at Poog’s feet before she can get off her fire spell. Scribbleface falls into some bushes and stealthfully scurries away to try and find his amulet.
No cards left in hand so no AYA damage. End turn and draw.

Oh boy, combat damage here I come!

The Gob Knight stands off to the side as the other Goblins fight over the bauble. Damn that is a nice, shiny bauble. No, he had no need to kill himself jumping into that pile of goblins over something so silly. Look how well it gleams. No, bad!. Then again. . . It might be dangerous. . . He could. . . Take it for safekeeping?

The only skill I have for that as Not-Scribbleface is perception so I hope people don’t mind if I take that.
As longshanks come barreling down the cave, The Gob Night’s psychic friend gives him a telepathic warning.
Recharge psychic detective for +1d6

With the warning, Not-Scribbleface barely manages to get out of the way and find a hidey hole.

I CAN fight Ak’s dudes with my amulet, but I’d prefer to keep that for emergency situations if someone else can deal with them, I do have a blessing to throw at this, Poog.

I’ll try to look more into what other cards I might want when I get home, but it seems no one else wants either of those so far.

This is gonna suck
Caught off guard, Not Scribbleface doesn’t have a chance to change out of his bulky clothes. He starts madly flinging his kama Weird pointy thing that is defiantly not scribbleface’s weapon around. His clockwork minion also sacrificed itself for it’s master.

Goodbye blessing of achakek

Aric/Red Raven 1 (Google Sheet link) Male Human Goblin Vigilante/perfectly normal Goblin

Start of turn, Blessing of Desna. Switch back to Red Ravenscribbleface. Swap out the signal whistle (which is useless in this scenario) for Kama from Kit. Then move to the warrens, which moves everyone with me.

While the rest of the tribe is busy fighting off the flaming birds, The Gob Knight decides this is a perfect time to finish off all the nasty beasties in the cave. As he starts to don his scribbleface costume, he hears Poog loudly shout "Poog hate bog! Go back to cave!" Scribbleface slaps his head.
End of Move step, use power to examine top card of deck. Drums of haste! Change back into Aric Not-Scribbleface.

The Gob Knight just finishes changing BACK out of his disguise as the rest show up. Looking around desperatly to justify being in the cave ahead of them, Not-Scribbleface sees some Drums on the ground.
Diplomacy 8 vs. d10+1(charisma)+3(diplomacy): 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Not scribbleface picks up the drums and presents them to the others.
"Look what Not-Scribbleface found. Some drums! I mean . . . uh, magic drums! Make you go super fast. Make all goblins run around! Super fun! We maybe not use now . . . me think it won't work with the rules of the scenario it not the right time. Save for later."
I'll end my turn there. I should probably discard the drums, but I can also hand them off to Poog next round in order to help bolster his low deck.

Just an FYI, next week (starting this Sunday and going ‘till next sunday) is Winterfest in my area, a week-long IRL PFS/SFS gaming thing where there are games every night and also during the day on the weekends. Pay $1 to reroll any d20 and all proceeds go to Toys for Tots. Long story short, I may be slow posting because most of my free time will be taken up with that. I’ll try and keep up though.

Aric/Red Raven 1 (Google Sheet link) Male Human Goblin Vigilante/perfectly normal Goblin

Hooooo boy. This is not good for me. Okay, so:
Before combat, heal Dogslicer+1 And vulture. Clear recharge. Then recharge Hagradesh (top of blessings deck is basic) to give Poog a blessing and heal psychic detective, clearing recharge again.
THEN fight birds. Throw my normal Dogslicer at the thing and recharge mogmurch to add 2d6 to the roll

Not-Scribbleface, who is certainly not Scribbleface and thus does not have his cool ninja moves-no matter how much he wishes he had them right now, is forced to rely on throwing his Dogslicer at his bird and asking crazy bomb goblin Mogmurch for help.
DC11 vs 1d6(Str)+2d6(throwing dogslicer)+2d6(mogmurch): 5d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 2, 3, 3) = 12
Rolled a 1, mogmurch damamge 1d4-1: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Sweet! Discarding potion of ghostly form to 1fire damage from bird. Barrier defeated! I display?

As expected, Mogmurch goes ham on the bird, and equally as expected, some of his explody bits get near the goblins. Luckily Not-Scribbleface backed up after throwing his Dogslicer. He does have to throw his potion of Ghost-ness at a bird to get it off Poog, but that is about the only casualty of the fight.

Not banished. Start of turn-Blessing of the gods. Choose not to move, use power to examine top card.-Hill Giant. Encounter it.
As the group (minus not-Scribbleface) trudges through the Nettlemaze, the Gob Knight follows behind, keeping an eye out for trouble. As he does, he notices a Hill Giant yelling at the Goblins to get off his lawn or he’ll kill them. But Poog’s Boasts are louder still and the Goblins don’t notice him. Stealthfully, Scribbleface Sneaks up to the hill giant and throws his magic dogslicer at him.

on the nose, damn.
The magic Dogslicer imbeds itself in the hill giant and he wavers before falling over. A magic sword with the word ‘Scribbleface’ etched onto it’s hilt sticking out of his back (not that any goblins could read it.).

Meanwhile, a psychic longshanks Scribbleface knows Warns him of further danger.
Discard psychic detective to examine, then explore, the next card-Potion of ghostly form. Because I examined, I choose to change to Aric Not-Scribbleface. Not swapping cards from kit.
The detective telepathically tells Scribbleface that there is a potion nearby. And that his ‘friends’ are starting to notice his absense. Dashing Forward, Scribbleface dons his not-Scribbleface disguise as he tries to pick up the potion along the way.

Int 4 vs 1d8: 1d8 ⇒ 5
He manages to snatch up the potion as he rejoins the group
”Scribbleface back. I mean, not back, was always here. What you mean you no see Not-Scribbleface? Shut up! You stupid, I just. . . . just wonder off to get potion for soon-to-be new chief Poog. Make you like scary ghost! I keep for now, Chief should not carry own stuff.”
