I think its much stronger than in some respects than what I was expecting. That said, it could have very easily been in a Lost Omens book instead of SoM.

you lose access to two entire schools and still can't restore more than 2 focus points until level 18, all for a couple more focus spells that are just okay. Most of the other feats are "nice to have" but hardly make up for losing access to two schools of magic.

Why the Arcane list always get the fewest number of exclusive spells?


I still consider it a better class than the wizards

Skills are very useful in this game. And that is a good thing.

But they don't replace water breathing, air walk, endure elements, quench, etc etc etc etc.

Magic is still VERY useful even though it no longer totally dominates the game. Skill feats not withstanding.

These are situational things at best
