Also, Emri said she was sticking with me at first, but I don't think it was clear that she approached with me *after* we saw the swarm and then I approached further. Sazen would have discouraged her from doing so, in fact, since her damage would also have affected her if she was there (and she was not on the map that way at the time of my spell). I am going to cast that same spell again, and if we are ruling that she is there, she will again take the same damage as the swarm, depending on her own fort save, unless she moves at least 10 feet away from me. When she put it on, however, she realized she couldn't take it off. She then panicked, realizing the ghost was not her mother after all, and she was dead in less than 10 seconds, strangled by the necklace. (Sazen is a duskwalker... basically a reincarnated soul (or "ghost") who was in the afterlife briefly and then given a new adolescent body (created body, incapable of reproduction) to continue the soul's work in a new life. ![]() Hmm. I'm in on another game if you want to DM one, and even willing to try 2nd edition again if that is your preference, but might make a different character. I really don't like 2e clerics... might have mentioned that too often, sorry. :) (Although if we switch to 1e, then I would be cool remaking Sazen as a 1e cleric.) What were you thinking in terms of a new game? ![]()

![]() Honestly, I'm fine with just calling it as a TPK. If she does something similar to me, I'll die just as fast. Not sure we're able to triumph in this fight if one of us can die in one round like that... and honestly, the whole game seemed like the enemies were out of our league. ![]()

![]() Sazen speaks from the doorway, still wary of whatever glop was waiting. Vengeance isn't the way to heal, and it can't provide justice either. I'm sure the wrong they did to you was great... but there are also people there that didn't participate in that, or who weren't even born at the time. Only a deity can make things like that right, without letting the whole world descend into angry infighting. This is a poor use for all you have learned... for your true genius. Repent, and start your life over working for things that matter rather than trying to heal your childhood alone. It can't be done, but Erastil's light can make you whole. Ha. My cleric was turning into a healbot there for a while. Finally she brings in some faith. ![]()

![]() Sazen will stay behind the doorframe for now, just looking in, and ready to move aside if the evil woman throws some gloppy alchemical monstrosity at them. |
