Hello DM Rostam.

I have played in the Pathfinder setting, via tabletop, through various APs for the past 4 years. I have always wanted to participate in a PbP game. I'm definitely interested as this seems like a great way to "get my feet wet" TM.

Would an unchained monk be acceptable for the game, despite having stated it is core only? I have another concept in mind if not. Thanks in advance!

Ha, that means Mr. Wizard is doing a bad job of well...being a wizard, especially if he is the only arcane caster in the party.

20. I, as the wizard with arcane crafting feats, will not be the party glorified vending machine for all things magical that you heart desires at cost (i.e. 1/2 price). My time and talents are valuable, do not treat me as an NPC crafter.

20a. Crafting is 80% of full price, paid up front(75% if you are respectful), for my feat tax and downtime services. Also it guarantees availability. If not, go have the DM roll randomly to see what the vendor has in stock and pay full price.

21. As the wizard, I will choose which spells to cast in and out of combat to make my party "more effective" TM. Do not tell me what to memorize or that a fireball is more effective then haste, then proceed to get bitter when simple tracked math over rounds prove that I was correct. Play your character how you wish and I will do the same with mine.

I’m looking for advice on a Paladin/Hellknight build for Kingmaker. I’m not sure what the top level is but I’ll build to 15th with the plan being Paladin 5 (Oath of Vengeance)/ Hellknight 10 (Order of the God Claw). If it goes beyond 15th I’ll likely go back to paladin.

Just hit level 3.
Human Paladin of Iomedae (3)
Stats are: STR 16, DEX 12, CON 14, INT 13, WIS 8, CHA 15. (20 PT Buy)

The Int 13 was originally for the Unsanctioned Knowledge and Fast Learner feats when I was originally staying Paladin the whole AP. That said, I still like the idea of a smart, yet young/little experience (low wis) character that will evolve/become more jaded as the AP goes on.

Current Feats are: Fey Foundling (human), Power Attack (Paladin 1)

I want to use Cornugon Smash in the build, for Intimidation as Diplomacy is not always viable. So here’s a sample feat build out.
Lev 3 - Greater Mercy. Works well with Fey Foundling for swift heals.
Lev 5 – Furious Focus
Lev 7 – Intimidating Prowess
Lev 9 – Cornugon Smash
Lev 11, 13 and 15 I really have no idea.
I could use extra lay on hands for 2(more healing or smites) and then take Ultimate Mercy to raise the dead, but that was just one idea path. I try to stay away from weapon focus to not pigeon hole myself into one type of weapon.

Stat bonuses will be Cha (4th), Wis (8th and 12th ) and Int (16th) if it goes that high. Stat boosting equip (belts, etc.) will raise the even stats. I could just take Iron Will to offset the Wis penalty and free up stat points as well, but it eats a feat.

The hellknight disciplines would be Pentamic Faith (Travel), Fearsomeness and I'm undecided on the 3rd.

I’ve been a front liner for the party, but not always the tank. I usually share the duties with the Fighter 2/Cleric X. The other two members of the party are a Ranger (archery style) and a Druid. The last two will be single class.

Anyhow, I’d appreciate any advice you have. Thanks.

I'm going to be playing in a Kingmaker game with 2 other regulars with a 4th member being spotty at best. The of the two regulars one is a melee ranger that wants to be "stuck in " hitting things and the other is a wildshape focused druid. I have no idea if/when/what the 4th person will play when they show up.

Restrictions are: 20pt buy, CRB, APG, UC, UM and ISWG.

I'm planning on playing a bard for all around utility. The 2 archetypes I was thinking about are Arcane Dualist and Sound Striker. I'm leaning toward the latter.

Striker allows me to keep the bardic knowledge and versatile performance for all the skill usage we'll likely need that is not covered by the other two. Also, I need (emphasis here) to hold my own in melee as I'm certain things will get through with only two others to try to hold the attention in encounters. Neither of the other two players are real "Pathfinder" experienced, but are lightly familiar with the rules/setting.

That said, my ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude) for this charater is:

Option 1:
Bard(Sound Striker)5-8/DD 4/Bard X (human, need those bonus spells):
Focus on Str>Cha>Dex>Con>Int>Wis
DD for the Str bump and other perks
Traits:Sword Scion (a Kingmaker trait is required) and Magic Knack
Also the Eldritch heritage line of feats interests me alot as well (either Arcane or Orc bloodlines)

Option 2:
Bard(Sound Striker)5-8/DD4/Paladin(Divine Hunter)2/Bard X:
Same idea as above, maybe swapping STR and DEX priority wise. Divine Hunter for Precise Shot and boost to saves. I'm not sure what order to get the levels in what classes. I could just take one level in Divine hunter, but it almost seems a waste not to get the extra level for the synergy with saves.

Anyhow just theory crafting at the moment. Input and ideas welcome.

Sorry for the long post, but needs the setting to make it appropriate.

I'm currently GM/DM-ing a Curse of the Crimson Throne group (friends since high school/college) and play in a different group that is in the Council of Thieves AP.
In the CotCT game that I run, the PC's, (Human Fighter, Half-Elf Cleric of Sarenrae, Human Ranger/Wizard and Gnome Sorcerer), are trying to on the down-low, locate some deserting city guards for the watch commander. They track them to this butcher shop. They stake out the place for an entire day and watch all the routine of the workers/guards. They head in the next day to unearth/gathrer further information and apprehend the one guard they are looking for. They get stonewalled by the guy behind the butcher shop counter, mainly due to terrible rolls. The sorcerer, who usually plays a big bruiser fighter types, tells me he jumps up on the counter and wants to intimidate the guy into telling him where they guard the party is looking for him is.

Gnome Sorcerer (after jumping on the countertop): " Tell me where he is you SOB or I'm going to call the guards!"
Me (as DM): "Roll your intimidate check"
Sorcerer(rolls): "No problem. I have a +7... F*^%, I rolled a 1!"
Me: The guy behind the counter sighs, turns and looks over his shoulder and yells in the back room, "Guards!"

The party ends up fighting all of the deserting guards in the building at the same time in the front of the shop. So much for discretion...

-------

In the CoT AP we encountered a vampire-like guy (vague enough to avoid a spoiler tag) in a scroll filled room. Me , playing a wizard, roll better initiative and go before he does and cast Web to hold him in place. We have a melee centric party (Fighter, Monk, Cleric and a melee druid) that gripe that they cannot get in to do any real damage. Three rounds of ranged weapon exchange passes with much frustration. The druid, fire domain, decides to use burning hands to get at the EBG, to burn off the web so she can get in there to melee and damage him in the process. She ends up pissing him off, due to setting fire to the scrolls he was studying, and he proceeds to attack only her in melee, for the next few rounds.
The conversation goes like this:

Druid: "He really hates me doesn't he?"
The DM: "Yes, you burnt his scrolls."
Fighter: "Yeah, he's not attacking me at all. It's like he has a hard-on for you."
Me: "She'll be fine. She just needs to cast the Warp Wood spell she has memorized."

Ten minutes later and a few bathroom breaks, we resumed the combat.

Congrats all who made it. That will teach me to go out of town for the weekend, lol.

Definitely interested. Never played a pbp game before, but plenty of tabletop both as a player and as a GM. Currently thinking of a ninja or some other rogue variant. I'll make an alias with all the info, at least that's how I think people do characters here.

And yes this is my first post here on the boards... :)
