Savola was born to a long line of practitioners of Arcane magic. Though his powers manifested themselves without formal training, his family showed him the finer points of weilding magic and how to best use it for good. Most of Savola's family were also adventurers in their youth and often regaled Savola with the stories of their own adventures, and teaching him etiquette of some of the more civilized races. When Savola came of age, he left his family and went to study abroad and further his studies of the arcane, it was only inevitable that the Professor's and Savola's paths would cross one another. Savola proved to be a bright student and the Professor was more than willing to further Savola's arcane understanding. When Savola felt satisfied with what he had learned, he went out into the world to put what he learned to good use. However, Savola now returns to Ravengro saddened by the death of the Professor to see what the Professor's final wishes might be.
Savola is a human male of average height and healthy weight. His hair is a dark brown, his eyes are hazel and his face clean-shaven. Even though Savola comes from a prestigious and wealthy family, he has taken to living much simpler yet can't stand to live without certain luxuries as soap and some sort of roof over his head while he sleeps. He dresses in the plain robes of a scholar and wears a ring bearing the symbol of his family, a blue flame in the palm of a golden hand. While he is not an old man, his experiences after his life with his family and studying under the professor have left him much more mature and rugged in looks. He carries a staff (or rather a hiking stick) which he takes to imbuing it with power when he needs. Savola carries with him a backpack filled with his little luxuries (such as his soap and mirror) with ink and paper to record anything fascinating he comes across.
