Female Human Fighter-2

Sasha let the rope out slowly, every muscle ready to haul Inamm back up in a hurry if necessary. She didn't like that the flighty sylph jumped down first, but had to admit that it made sense for Sasha to be the one ready to pull her back up.

Female Human Fighter-2

lol - Hesseth?....

Female Human Fighter-2

perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Female Human Fighter-2

Peering into the lightless depths, Sasha could see nothing. I guess one of us is going down. she said. Shall we draw straws?

Female Human Fighter-2

"It's as good a guess as any. Who knows what's down there. We should check it out."

Female Human Fighter-2

Sasha nodded slowly, the light dawning. "Yes....you're right! That never occurred to me - maybe whatever did this escaped down the well." Moving to the door, she said, "Let's go"

this will be after we're done in here.

Female Human Fighter-2

Kicking the ground in frustration, Sasha turned back to the church. If the murderer had anticipated her dogs, there was little chance they'd find him the "old-fashioned way". The Keep was busy, and the killer sly. No tracks to follow without scent.

Let's see what we can find inside, she said. She returned to the church and moved more carefully through it, looking for clues, or for anybody who might have seen what happened.

Female Human Fighter-2

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

Female Human Fighter-2

"AHHH!" Sasha yelled, kicking a small, blood-stained footstool so that it smashed against the wall. She was furious that the old man had been killed - what a waste of a trip! Well, killing orcs was never a waste, but still.

"Track!" she commanded the dogs again, hoping this time they'd be of more use.

Female Human Fighter-2

Stepping over Alex and the corpse, Sasha moved into the chapel. Clanging her sword against a stone pillar, she called out, "Come on out, it's time to play. Shame on you for picking on defenceless old men." They had gone to a lot of work to save the old priest, and she was furious that somebody dared take that victory away from them.

Moving back to the room where the old dude was, hoping to draw the baddies out before they kill him.

Female Human Fighter-2

Giving a low whistle, Sasha signalled the dogs to do a perimeter check - Wes and Wil took off in opposite directions, noses low to the ground. Sasha motioned to the main entrance, leading the guards towards the chapel. Until she cleared the building, she was assuming the worst.

will go in unless I find a reason not to

Female Human Fighter-2

"Keepers of the Keep!" Sasha roared, "to arms! It's heading for the chapel!"

A sword in each hand, Sasha followed the trail at top speed, ready to kill whatever horror stood in her way.

Female Human Fighter-2

how are you guys typing in your dice rolls? I'm doing it wrong - the name of your roll comes up green and bold, but mine is regular font. Can you show me the proper way to type it in?

Female Human Fighter-2

Growling in frustration at her dogs, Sasha brought them to heel and set out in the direction they'd started to go.

perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

Female Human Fighter-2

Seeing the scratches, Sasha assumed that something came out of the well and attacked Tella. "Wil! Wes! Track!" The two dogs began moving out in a spiral pattern, attempting to make sense of the cacophony of smells surrounding them.

Wes track: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Wil track: 1d20 ⇒ 9

not sure what their pluses are - I don't see track on their sheet, but there's mention of getting +4 to survival when tracking by scent. So do I use their +8 perception, or +4, or something else? So here's the plain roll, and you can add what's needed.

Female Human Fighter-2

"Light!" Sasha commanded, peering down into the well. Somebody passed her a lantern and she aimed the light down as best she could, peering into the murky depths.

Female Human Fighter-2

Sasha was already drawing her blade as she ran out the door. When she saw the girl lying on the ground, she jumped up onto the far side of the well and looked around for danger. Wes let out a mighty howl, and barrelled through the onlookers to Tella's side. He licked her face and whined.

Whistling a shrill note, Sasha commanded the dogs to check the perimeter for danger. The animals set off in opposite directions, sniffing.

Sasha perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

Dogs perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

Female Human Fighter-2

Sasha shrugged. "Who knows? Ravings of a sick man, or truths? If it worries you, we can talk to him tomorrow, when he's had a chance to rest."

Female Human Fighter-2

Sasha took advantage of the owner's offer, and ate well. The dogs lay at her feet, happily eating the scraps that her companions offered them.

Finally full, Sasha leaned back and looked around. Surely there was some entertainment to be had in a place like this.

looking for dice/cards/etc - anything to mingle with the locals and maybe win a little coin

Female Human Fighter-2

what time of day is it? I've totally lost track of time.

Female Human Fighter-2

Uncomfortable in the sick room, Sasha motioned towards the door. "We should go and leave you to your recovery." Herding the other two women towards the door, she fighter felt better when they were back out into the sunshine and fresh air.

Wil heeled quietly as they left the church. Curious to see how Wes was healing up, she said, "Let's check on Wes, then find a place to eat. I'm starving." Her stomach growled, lending its voice to hers.

assuming the others don't dissent

Sasha led the way towards the stable where they'd left the rottweiler.

Female Human Fighter-2

Sasha stood aside so that Alex could administer the potion she collected. She remained on alert, hands on weapons, in case the priest should turn violent.

Female Human Fighter-2

Sasha spins a sword over her wrist, and says, "If by successful you mean destroying the orc presence in the chapel. Yes, we killed them all." Returning the weapon to its sheath in one fluid motion, she continued, "As for the old man, I guess we'll find out if this stuff will work," she motioned to the pack Alex was carrying. "We'd best hurry."

Female Human Fighter-2

No doubt! He'd be a skeleton in his grave by now.

So, are we ready to fast-track back to the walled city place?

Female Human Fighter-2

Sasha nodded, barely looking. "Let's get what we need and get back. The priest had but a day to live, and we've spent most of it already."

Whistling sharply, she sent Wil back up the stairs to stand guard as Alex and Inaam filled two vials with the last of the healing waters.

Ready to go back?

Female Human Fighter-2

LOL, I was like, "what priest?" - totally forgot about him. Poor dude...

Female Human Fighter-2

At the mention of food, Wil threw himself at Inaam's feet, belly exposed and whining for food. Disgusted at the display of puppy-like behaviour, she said, "Fine, fill your belly, you cur. Don't come whining to me if you're full and logey next time we meet an orc, and he guts you like a kitten."

As the other two investigated the font, Sasha stood by the door, listening and watching. She was not going to get caught by surprise.

perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

There's nowhere else to go down here, right?

Female Human Fighter-2

damn, i posted a reply this morning, but now I don't see it. Knowing my luck it'll show up in an hour and I'll have a double post. Grrr....

Sasha took a moment to take a few deep breaths and let the ringing in her head stop. Cocking her head, she listened carefully, hoping the ruckus didn't draw reinforcements.

listen: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

assuming she doesn't hear anything

Kneeling, she quickly began to rifle through the big black orc's belongings. She needed to know if he had anything of value, or anything that would explain their presence here. As she worked, she said, "Inamm, listen at the door, see if you can hear anything, or figure out where to go from here. Alex, check out the other orc."

Whistling softly, she gave Wil the command to search, and the dog moved swiftly around the room, nose to the ground.

Female Human Fighter-2

Roaring in anger, Sasha swung at her foe with all her might. She WOULD kill this orc, and she would do it NOW!

Attack sword 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Attack sword 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Her first stroke bit deeply into the orc's shoulder, releasing a satisfying spray of blood. The second, alas, missed completely.

As the orc staggered, she cried, "Wil! Kill!"

Wil attack : 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

- not sure about his AC - is that a hit? eh? eh?

Female Human Fighter-2

Is it me next? Or Dan?

Female Human Fighter-2

"Will! Behind you! Attack!" Sasha gave her dog the command to change enemies. The pitbull spun around and lunged at the no-longer-chanting orc.

Wil attack : 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

The orc, however, easily evaded the dog, as if he wasn't concerned by such a lowly creature.

Sasha continued to press her attack on her enemy, swords flashing as she struck again and again.

Attack sword 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Attack sword 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

However, luck was against her and her weapons skittered across the big foe's armour.

woah, guys, slow down! I can barely keep up! :)

Female Human Fighter-2

will save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15

Sasha shook off the feeling of dread, and focused on her enemy.

Will attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Attack sword 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Attack sword 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Clearly the dog was feeling shaken up by the spell, for he nearly attacked his tail instead of the orc. Distracted by her dog, Sasha missed with the first stroke, but recovered and bit deep with the second.

Female Human Fighter-2

Geesh, I should hope so! Moving to a new province and starting a new job are no excuse!

Female Human Fighter-2

Bueller? Bueller?

Female Human Fighter-2

Is there something wrong with the game board? It's all black, with just the Sasha icon to move around.

Sasha and Wil moved forward as one, moving around and infront of Inamm in an effort to shield her from further attacks. The dog lunged forward, going for the knee, while Sasha lashed out with both swords, attacking high and low simultaneously.

Wil attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Attack sword 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Attack sword 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Female Human Fighter-2

Sorry! Once again my browser updated, I lost my tabs, and my mind. If I go more than a week without posting, email me and remind me!

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

Female Human Fighter-2

what kind of door? open in or out? locked? any cracks to peek through?

Female Human Fighter-2

Sasha took point again, moving carefully towards the descending staircase. Gesturing for a lantern, she silently lights it and leads the way down the stairs. She has a sword in one hand, and is ready to drop the lantern and draw the other weapon if necessary. With a silent gesture at Will, she has the dog bring up the rear, to make sure nothing sneaks up behind them unnoticed.

Female Human Fighter-2

Both swords slicing this time, Sasha danced out of the way of the ratdog's teeth, and did her best to decapitate it.

Attack sword 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Attack sword 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Simultaneously, Will tore into the creature before him, worrying at it with his teeth.
Will attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Unfortunately, the creature's hide was thick, and though Will was able to shake the creature vigorously before losing his hold, he was unable to hurt it.

Female Human Fighter-2

ps. Don't worry about it at all, Shelley! I'm glad that work is keeping you busy - hope that you're still having fun with it. Skin diving should be awesome! Miss you lots and lots! xxoxoxo

Female Human Fighter-2

Sasha stepped forward as the rat-dog rushed past her and swung with her right hand. only one attack, right?

Attack sword 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Swearing as she nearly missed so completely that she nearly threw her sword across the room, Sasha prepared to attack again.

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Female Human Fighter-2

Gesturing to the other women, Sasha whispered, "Two animals. Gonna flush them out here. Get ready." When she saw that they understood, Sasha cracked the door open and signalled to Will.

The dog understood. He poked his head in the door, growled low, and backed away. Hopefully the rat/dog things would follow into the ambush. Sasha raised her swords and waited.

Female Human Fighter-2

"Pssst, Inamm! Get a move on!" Sasha hissed at the strange woman, who had sunk into some sort of reverie. She then turned her attention to the door infront of her. Moving quietly, she crept forward until she was in front of it. Hoping for a keyhole to peek through, she quickly scanned the door.

Any holes, cracks, etc? If not, she'll put her ear to it and listen.

Female Human Fighter-2

Moving quickly but quietly, Sasha and Will continued to follow the sound of the chanting. The carefully moved to the NW opening, peeking inside.

Female Human Fighter-2

Gesturing to Will, Sasha moves towards the western opening, hoping to find the chanters in the shrine.

Female Human Fighter-2

Sasha gave the downed orcs a nudge with her boot to check that they were no longer breathing. She then signalled Will to check inside the building with her. As she sidled quietly up to the door, the pitbull slunk on his belly towards the other side of it. He sniffed quietly, checking for more foes inside.

assuming there's no obvious sign of more orcs or other nasties

Sasha peeked quickly in, and seeing nothing, moved cautiously into the building. Will moved in with her, staying on the opposite wall to be in flanking position, should anything to fight pop up.

Perception Sasha: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Perception Will: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

Hesseth?

Female Human Fighter-2

Will attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Attack sword 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Attack sword 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Watching as the orcs finally started dying, as they were meant to do, Sasha smiled. However, the confidence came with a price, and she missed her first swing. Will, joining the fray, bit and clawed at the orc but couldn't find purchase. Finally, Sasha's second attack found flesh, and the orc grunted in pain (and finally dropped?).

Female Human Fighter-2

bloody useless dog

Female Human Fighter-2

Bleeding from yet another wound, Sasha was starting to feel embarrassed by her inability to drop one of the orc foes in front of her. She spun her blades a third time, striking at each orc once. Perhaps if she changed tactics she'd have more luck.

Attack sword 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Attack sword 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

At least she hit once, and no paltry scratch either. As the orc grunted in pain, she heard Wil snarl as he rounded the corner and leapt at Inamm's enemy.

Wil attack : 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Female Human Fighter-2

so my second hit missed, so therefore not a crit?
