Sariel tilted her head a bit as she waited to hear the answer, quite curious about the boy's reply to the question. She did like helping people, but it was important to find the right balance when trying to do the most good. Getting too caught up was bad - but not thinking enough was bad, too. Well, nobody ever said faith would be easy, even for those who were practically born into it...

"Excuse me, boy." Sariel said, striding towards him and fluttering her wings slightly - that tended to be good at getting people's attention (something she was no stranger to), and she had to admit some curiosity at his outfit. "Is something the matter?"

"People can get used to just about anything. Most of them just want the assurance that tomorrow will be a lot like today - hopefully a little better, or at least not much worse." Sariel mused. "At least it shouldn't take long to reach the temples."

I'm always around - just haven't had anything to respond to.

"So much history..." Sariel mused as they arrived at the city. She glanced around as they arrived, taking in the architecture and design of the area. "I think I'd like to put a stop to these problems before they mar the city too badly." she added.

Sariel - who'd been present for the casting - nodded calmly in response to the questions. Truth be told, she wasn't very big on magic that existed to question the dead... those who were resting in a heavenly realm deserved to stay in peace there. Still, if the gods allowed it to happen, then surely there was a reason for that. "Are you ready to go?" she asked Thorrpe.

"I'm ready to go." Sariel said, putting one hand on her hip as she glanced around the area. The sooner they got to the city, the more time they'd have to investigate whatever was going on... and put a stop to it.

Never one to wait around, Sariel calmly began walking towards their destination, numerous thoughts running through her mind as she went.

...They're not inside? XD; I thought they were. Should probably pay closer attention...

Sariel nodded calmly at the words of the others. Then, after a moment, she asked, "Who's Irori?" It had sounded like a location at first, perhaps a temple f some kind, but... it wasn't a name she was familiar with... of course, Faerun was a large place, but still!

Sariel nodded slightly at Thorin's words, though she kept her thoughts on the matter to herself. There were some subjects she simply didn't feel like sharing her views on - for now, she was waiting on the responses from the priests.

Sariel nodded towards Scintillate and her... burden. "A citizen has been murdered, likely by a priest of Bhaal. We'd like to give some rites to his body and ask the gods to protect his soul as he moves to his final destination." she explained calmly. One couldn't be too careful when dealing with the gods of evil... especially when death was literally their agenda.

The moment when her summons vanished was quite apparent, but the celestial girl simply nodded, satisfied that the job had been done as necessary. For now, though... perhaps all she really needed to do was pray for guidance and focus on the things she could do. Be the world you wish to live in, hm? she thought idly, smiling slightly. Well, the pithy little saying did make sense, at least, so at least it had that going for it.

Sariel gave Thorrpe a disapproving look as she strode out into the street - her little minions should be about finished alerting the guards, and she wanted to get at least one drink down before they all got hauled in for questioning. "I will gladly accept the help of anyone who wishes to stand against evil." she said mildly as she moved along. It seemed they'd be meeting up later, then, which suited her well enough - she needed some time to organize her thoughts and pray.

Well, we can always just talk things over, perhaps go visit a generic bar or something. ^^ Don't worry about it - stuff happens.

"And his bowels. And his genitals. And he was cut into chunks..." Sariel explained in response to the question, shuddering slightly. Drawing and quartering was... one of the less pleasant ways of dying. It wasn't simply an execution - it was brutally painful, included multiple steps, and was generally only used on people that a group truly wanted to make suffer. It wasn't a very fast death, either - nothing compared to the quick slice of an assassin's knife or the deadliest spells. "May the gods accept his soul and grant him the place he deserves."

"That is a concern." Sariel said, nodding slightly at Pandora's words. "Personally, I'm leading towards the use of silencing magic, but I'd rather not rule out any potential reason for the silence. It may even be that nobody was around, or something was done to the body during the murder and hidden afterward."

"Searching the city shouldn't be too difficult." Sariel noted after a fair bit of thought. She watched as Scin headed out, then nodded slightly, stepping out of the building and into the fresher air. That place was going to need a good cleaning - for health and equestrian reasons. Servants of the god of murder, is it... hmm...

I certainly have no objections... XD Though Sariel probably had less to do with it than Thorrpe - she feels obligated to be responsible, after all.

Calling her boss, eh? It still felt weird... it was true that the warriors of the celestial realms fought under her command, but that had always been more of a mutually acceptable arrangement than anything else. She'd never seen herself as a real leader, just someone who helped to guide others and support their efforts. Still, it was harmless enough... right? "A troubled city, that one..." she mused. "Well, if that's the place we need to go to put a stop to all of this, then so be it."

Sariel coughed slightly. "Honestly, I'm worried that we'd just hear where they are now, and chances are they'll be gone by the time we get to that spot..." Had she... had a bad experience with divination spells in the past? "Still, you do this far more often than I. Ask whatever questions you think are best, and I'll ask for additional clarification if need be."

"Gods may vanish, but their worshipers often live on." Sariel explained quietly. "There are often remnants who seek the return of their god, old texts about their faith, and any number of magical items that would still draw people in. Death is rarely the end for mortals or gods." It had, however, answered her question - if there was a connection here, the poor man's wife probably didn't know about it. "I'm going to report this to the guards. They need to know what happened here, and to prepare for trouble." she said, heading towards the doors. However, she didn't actually leave the area - instead, she held out one hand, and sacred energy briefly flashed through her.

Summoning Faerie Dragons: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

When it cleared, a trio of tiny dragons with butterfly wings were resting on her arm, and cheerfully chattered a little in the language of dragons before Sariel could calm them down.

<"Little ones, I need you to spread out and find as many guards as you can. Let them know that a man was found dead, with the mark of Bhaal on him, and ask that they take all appropriate measures to strengthen their patrols and protect the other people of this city.>" she said in Draconic. The small creatures nodded and buzzed out of the room. They were fast, capable of flight, spoke the common tongue, and telepathic - her power could only hold them here for seven minutes, but they ought to be able to cover quite a bit of ground before being sent home.

"Think of a Cleric, and they appear..." Sariel muttered... though there was a slight smile on her lips. Still, they could talk later - for now, she needed to learn as much as she could as fast as she could, and that meant listening to the alchemist's wife.

Sariel paused for just a moment as she entered the room, nausea rising up before her... before moving over to examine the body, her gaze flickering around the room just to be sure it was safe. How very odd - if she recalled her animal lore correctly, most horses would have gone crazed at the sight of violence and the smell of such blood. Except warhorses, perhaps, but... was the dead man a target of the Bhaalists... or one of them? Maybe one of those clerics can speak with the dead... she thought absently, turning to the shocked woman. "Ma'am, are you aware of any history between your husband and the Bhaalists?" she asked gently. "I realize you're in deep shock right now, but others may be in danger, and I need you to tell me everything you can."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20

Sariel tilted her head slightly as she heard the sound...

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

...and her hearing seemed to be rather good today. Without any hesitation at all, she darted forward, gathering mystical power within her hand. If there was trouble, some sort of evil going on here... then it would face the might of the heavens.

Oooooooor they could have just seen an unusually large rat or something and this would be a funny story later, but she didn't like to take chances on this sort of thing.

Initiative (If Necessary): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 Ahahahahaha... way to start things off. XD

Hmm... I might be able to work with that. ^^ Shared backstories definitely have their benefits, though it was probably a pretty big battle... *Rubs chin* Either that or she came just a bit too late to help and met Thorrpe afterwards.

(If it was actively fighting evil - as opposed to just, say, trying to earn money - there's a good chance Sariel would have gotten involved)

Back in 2011, after a two-year hiatus, I resumed my subs with the Jade Regent AP. It is good to be back in Tian Xia! Love the art of the kami and the interaction between the characters.

Hey so okay, I've been really digging this AP as I love Dwarves, especially the nuanced approach you've gone with this edition of Dwarves and Torag. The focus on their moral complexities has had me thinking and adds a lot of depth. However, before I come to a conclusion I want to ask who was was the writer for this approach. Also was it a narrative choice for exploring certain themes, or does it reflect a broader perspective on morality? I'm genuinely curious about the thought process behind this aspect of the story.

I picked up the first two issues, and the story didn't grab me right away. I lay the fault at the feet of the interior artist. Their style is more than adequate, but there's something about it that pushes me away. I wish that Steve Ellis, the cover artist, was the main artist instead. Another issue I have is with the characterizations of the icons used; I feel that they don't synergize well as a group, especially not as well as Valeros, Amiri, Kyra, etc.

2.4 out of 5 stars for me, with the biggest detractions being the characterization and interior art. It just didn't hit the mark this time.

Now that I have been posting more, I noticed my Charter/Founder Subscriber tag is missing. Been ordering since Mar 18, 2005 and my first subscription began on launch Thursday, August 16, 2007 12:54 PM with Rise of the Runelords.

Is there anyway to get it back?

I put in a request on 5th-6th to have my subscriptions fixed.

1. I added Starfinder Pawns: Attack of the Swarm! Pawn Collection with a subscription order. It did not ship with June's subscriptions. Even though the order wasn't finlized until June 20th, two weeks later.

2. I am still being charged for Starfinder Scenarios. I should now have four subscriptions to receive them for free.

3. You shipped my Starfinder Maps order separately from my other subscriptions this June.

With the news of it going virtual I want to add the Starfinder Accessories Ongoing Subscription and use it to as my 4th subscription for the free society scenarios bonus for Starfinder Society and thus drop the active SFS Subscription.

I've had problems with it before, so wanted to try to head that off from happening again.

If I am understanding how Treasure Bundles work, a Player couldn't sell a piece of a bundle mid-scenario to get gold to then purchase another item correct? Also is, purchasing is only allowed during Downtime post-scenario? Or can a player purchase something during, say, the 2-hour window Gather Information checks? Thanks!

I sent an email but wanted to make sure it wasn't missed due to the weather.

The problem is that you show you are charging an old payment method, one that not only did I remove but also one of the CSR's removed it as well. Disconcerting to say the least!

Please fix and charge the correct payment method!
