male Vudrani Human Monk, master of many styles lvl 1

We shall do it the old school way then Sanket says to the wizard.
Lets speak to these people. Sister if you would please... The monk says while finishing covering the body.

I look around, what is the appearence of this npcs that we are going to interview? Alma, garavel zastoran...

male Vudrani Human Monk, master of many styles lvl 1

My diplomacy and sense motive sucks! Can somebody else please do the talking, lol.

male Vudrani Human Monk, master of many styles lvl 1

Turning to the cleric Sanket says:
I think this people would open their hearts more easily to one of the faithfull, maybe you or your consort could talk to then sister. I can tag along if you wish to keep them civil.

Sanket returns the elf his torch.

Thank for your kindness, my name is Sanket. The monk says bowing to the wizard.

Keeping his voice low the vudrani talks to the elf and the aasimar while helping her cover the body.

I followed a trail of footsteps from near the burning wagon into the desert and found a man resting against a tree near by. He was lame and dressed like a beggar. He told me his name was Dashki and that he was going to wait a bit for before returning to camp because there was bad blood between him and this caravan leader. He was afraid she would frame him for the fire.

He said he didnt know what happened and that he was having dinner when the fire started. But the wagon belonged to a fortune teller and apparently he used to burn a lot of candles inside it. He also suggested the possibility of a pugwampis attack.

The only problem with his story was the proximity of his tracks to the burning wagon. I thought we should talk to some other people and verify his tale before coming back to him and...maybe use some magic?

male Vudrani Human Monk, master of many styles lvl 1

Back into camp Sanket extinguish his torch and politely ask one of the guards for another shovel. He then proceeds to help the cleric using the proximity to her to start a conversation.

Hello sister, please let me help you.

If a shovel or another digging tool can t be found i will just go to the cleric and offer to do the digging myself, my main goal here is engage Beatrix in a conversation.

dm:
Should i confront him now why his footsteps were so close to the burning wagon?...Better wait for the others. He is lame and this is a desert, he is not going nowhere, dont give him any reason to flee.

Yea, women can be troublesome. I am going back to the camp, see you later on.

Sanket returns to the remains of the burning wagon.

male Vudrani Human Monk, master of many styles lvl 1

DM:

And what is wrong with your caravan leader? She seemed competent enogh...

male Vudrani Human Monk, master of many styles lvl 1

DM:

sense motive:
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12

Did the footsteps that i followed stated at the burning wagon or on some other place?

male Vudrani Human Monk, master of many styles lvl 1

DM:

I am Sanket.

He offer the man a sip of his waterskin.

Sanket will wait for the man to answer with his own name. If he dont, or after he do it he will ask one more question.

Did you saw what happened? How did the fire started?

By th way, what is not human about this guys footprints? Do he have goat feet like a tiefling?

male Vudrani Human Monk, master of many styles lvl 1

Slowly Sanket approuches the strange man. He keeps his right hand empty as a sign of peace. Now that he is closer to the person with his torch he tries to see whats unhuman about the guy.

How far away am i from the camp, can i see it? Can the people there see or hear me?

Hey friend, are you alright? Lets get back to the camp, its getting cold here in the dark.

male Vudrani Human Monk, master of many styles lvl 1

Thank you.

Sanket says without really understanding what the elf said. He lights the torch in one of the dying embers and follow the footsteps he saw earlier.

male Vudrani Human Monk, master of many styles lvl 1

Sanket go back to the place where he saw footsteps earlier. Now that the fire is extinguished its getting hard to follow the trail into the dark so he turns to the elf and the knight that are examining the wagon.

Hey friends, would one of you have a torch by any chance? I saw some footsteps here earlier going away from the wagon.

male Vudrani Human Monk, master of many styles lvl 1

@DM Mathpro: Can I follow the footsteps leading away from the burning wagon that i found earlier?

male Vudrani Human Monk, master of many styles lvl 1

In spite the fact that Sanket have worked with and around horses all his adult life he grew up been trained as a footsoldier and could never quite get over his awe of the large beasts. He decides to help with the water buckets and leave the horses for more skilled hands.

He runs to the line where Beatrix and Iskandariel are and join them on their effort.

male Vudrani Human Monk, master of many styles lvl 1

Seeing more people gathering to help, Sanket combine his effort with the keleshite to give one more try.

Dawnflower give us strengh.

He prays in a wisper.

Strengh check with Nasir's aid another:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Without it the final number would be 20

male Vudrani Human Monk, master of many styles lvl 1

STR check:
1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 2 = 15

Sanket puts his hole back into it but, even with help from Nasir, the wagon doesnt seem to move. He takes a deep breath and gets ready to try again.

male Vudrani Human Monk, master of many styles lvl 1

His experience on the road tells the vudrani the worst case scenario now would be for the flames to spread to the other wagons so he rushes in to help the man to move it out of the way.

While running he worries that this may be part of an attack and look for his hated enemies, the gnolls, on the surrounding area.

Perception check:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

male Vudrani Human Monk, master of many styles lvl 1

As the sun rises Sanket sits down facing it and siliently pray for the goddess. He then resumes his sleep.

male Vudrani Human Monk, master of many styles lvl 1

After the unloading is done and the camp is set Sanket comes back to the resting place assigned to him and spreads out his bedroll, lying down on it and using his backpack as a pillow. His eyes fixed on the celling. His possessions are so few that they can barely fill the pack, not that this bothered him. All his life, since the Padaprajna, he was drilled into traveling light.

But for all the time he has spend in this foreign land, his cloths, the armor he is wearing, so much lighter then he is used to, and even the sword on his hips, they all fell alien to him. Just not quite right, a little off balance or just not made the way it would be more intuitive. Yet in his heart he has learned to call this place, Katapesh, home. And soon he would be a free man to explore it.

male Vudrani Human Monk, master of many styles lvl 1

Quietly Sanket walks to the wagon and helps the head of the caravan to unload it. It does look like its going to be another clear day. Nice he thinks to himself, he enjoys the sun. Even Katapesh,s merciless one.

male Vudrani Human Monk, master of many styles lvl 1

Hello all, thanks for having me. I look forward to play this adventure with you guys.

This is Merck and here is my Monk/Paladin character that i would like to submit for this campaign.

DM:
As a first level character he is just a monk but next level I will pick up my first Paladin level. He is designed to become a meat shield / striker and would fill the role of a primary melee character.
