Sam continues to help with Mithralline's wounds and stays ready to heal if there are more problems. Then she moves over and helps Mithralline whenever she next gets a chance to strike at the birds (guidance).

6 healing to Mith and 5 damage to me. It's too bad our archer is sick right now!

Sam nods and exclaims "Yes! Yes! That's it! Without the tree, we can just pick off the crows!"

As she says it, her life force continues to heal Mith and she pushes healing out to herself and her allies.

Sam stands where she is and tries to keep the crows busy while they deal with the tree. A twisting pattern of shifting, subtle colors washes over the crows distractingly.

It procs on my turn and heals the bleed. I take 5 damage and heal you of 6 or up to max. In this case, just the 4 up to max.

Sam moves forward and snaps her small fingers. Mithralline disappears and reappears 20 ft north of the statue.

Sam is happy to get out of Pedipalp's horrible taken-over-lair and smiles when she sees the garden and the gardeners. But then they attack and she gasps in shock at their recklessness, dying at the hands of Mithralline and Thras. She shakes her head sadly "They didn't even try to talk... so senseless..."

When the statue attacks, Sam raises a confused eyebrow then sighs and pulses energy out to her allies. "Ok stick together. I guess it's ok to destroy a hostile statue..." she says, conflicted.

4 is a good level for Sam. She gains 2nd level spells (lesser restoration and burst of radiance but she doesn't know about BoR yet), a nice ability to switch up some spells every day (spirit magic), 4 level 2 slots a day, +1 bab, +1 will saves, +9 hp, +4 skills. Will officially update my sheet ASAP.

Sam shudders as Pedipalp's horrible head is brutally severed then nods to Thras and smiles weakly, appreciating his words but deeply disturbed by the brutality. "It's like I always say: If we stick together, we'll make it through. If Sarela hadn't told me what happened to you, I would have just been guessing how to help."

I'll cast guidance for whoever attempts the dex check.

I can't get close to Thras but this should work.

Sam moves over a bit and calls out to Thras "Jump down here, Thras! And I can help with that!"

Reading action to cast protection from evil on him, which will grant a new saving throw at +2 against it because it's a compulsion. That's why I needed to know.

Sam is a little shaken but still she moves forward and, seeing Pedipalp far away, claps her hands at Thras, who disappears through a small, starry tear in the fabric of the room and reappears next to Pedipalp through a similar tear.

I can move him 30 ft so exactly where he ends up depends on the height of the platform. If it's 10 ft higher than us or less, I put him in the red square. If it's 15 or 20 ft, I can only put him in the blue square.

I do think the book throws some rather funky challenges/enemies at us that do more to annoy than scare. So I'm fine with continuing or skipping some parts. Either way for me.

Soon, Sam will have many more spell options available to her and be a little bit more willing to fight against certain enemies. In the meantime, there's often not a lot she has to contribute when everyone is healthy.

Sam things back to what she knows from Rose's lessons on creeping creatures. "This Mrs. Pedipalp... Is she some kind of spider or somethign?"

Thematically, Sam would be happy to accept the glyph. But it might make sense for someone who can't otherwise do any healing to take it. We only have 72 hours so it'll probably be used for normal healing, not undoing death, if things go according to plan. :P

I think Sarela is the only one who can use a pearl of power so is it safe to assume she takes it?

Sam nods, a slight sad gleam in her eyes. "Yes I'm glad we could help. I just wish we could have helped peacefully..." But such seemed to be the nature of this insane place. They had to fight to get through it. She found Thras particularly terrifying and unsettling. He seemed to take joy in ripping things apart with his bare hands. Sam shudders slightly in distaste. At least Kishokish seemed a pleasant, amiable fellow. He liked riddles, after all, so he must be fun and nice.

Sam nods to Thras. "I'm just glad you're ok!" Then she keeps tending his wounds.

Is 12/31 correct, Thras? If so, you'll heal 6 and Sam will take 5 twice then she'll channel.

Sam pulses out more energy to heal her comrades.

Sam is frightened as she approaches the creature but breathes deeply and focuses on what she is doing. She steps back a little and shouts "The attendant is with us!" Positive energy pulses through her and her allies, closing wounds rapidly.

Healing mechanics:

Life link procs on Thras and on Airah this round. So Sam takes 10 damage while Thras heals 6 and Airah heals 6.

Channel: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (3, 6) + 1 = 10

Moving just out of range so as not to heal the enemy so I can't reach Mith with the healing. I have fey foundling so I get 13 healing instead.

TL:DR Thras heals 16. Airah heals 16. Sam gains 3 hp net this turn. I don't think Aralah or Sarela were wounded but they would get hp back if so.

Sam throws off the confusion once again, determined to help her allies. She moves forward as she takes a little damage to heal Airah. Then Sam moves a little closer to help protect her allies.

Sam starts to get confused but then winces as Mithralline hits herself, opening wounds on Sam but closing some on Mith. This snaps her out of it.

Mith heals 6 while I take 5 damage.

Then Sam moves forward a little and taps Mithralline on the shoulder to help her out.

Protection from evil, taking a wild guess this thing is evil.

Mith, Sam has been life linked to you for a while. I just haven't been checking your quick stats spoiler. Now I realize so I'll start marking life links.

Healing details:

Due to life link, I take 10 damage to start my turn while Mithralline and Airah each heal 6.

Channel positive for everyone: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (6, 4) + 1 = 11 +4 instead of +1 for me.

Mithralline and Airah each gain 17 hp. Anyone else who was missing hp also gains 11 hp.

Sam moves over and sends out another pulse of healing. "C'mon! You can do this!"

Then Sam moves up and tries to help Mithralline hit the dang ghost.

Immediately s Airah's wounds open, they begin closing and the lion's share of them appear on Sam.

My life link was active on Airah, Thras, and Mithralline. Airah gains 6 hp and I take 5 damage.

Sam moves into the room to be better able to help. Seeing Airah nearly fall, she calls out in horror "NO!" Memories rip through her mind. "Miss Rose wouldn't wake up... Laurel sacrificing himself... Airah almost dying earlier... Not again... No no no not again..." She lifts her hand to her necklace to heal Airah and pulses out energy in a panic but something strange happens. The wave of energy passes over Airah without an effect but instead slams into the phantom.

Channel to harm: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8 Should be full damage to incorporeal undead. DC 15 will for half.

Sam's hand stays on her necklace as she looks shocked at what she's done, attacking another creature directly. She begins mumbling "Sorry! I mean no... I had to... But..."
