Garundi Fighter 6
While I'm a big fan of Con and hp for PFS, I don't have any pc's myself below 14, if you do plan on using UMD, max ranks are very helpful. It's worth the point at every level for a bard until you can tap cast stuff, imo. You get enough hp at 2nd where 1 hp normally won't impact you too much. Also PFS makes use of linguistics quiet a lot... in some cases, knowing a language (so many choices, choose wisely!) in/right before combat innately is more useful than comprehend languages / share languages / tongues. Hawk's 15 CHR 12 DEX advice is also a sound alternative to your current 14/14. Your boost at L4 will currently go to the void until your next plus one at L8, while if you 15/12 you'll get your main stat for performances back to +3 relatively soon, and can get a belt of con to get that con stat higher if you find you're lacking when you get enough money/faction around L5... If you really are nervous, toughness is great and is a comparable equivalent to dodge. Tough decisions, after having been at a convention this weekend, anecdotal stories of dead adventurers and their commonality of low con abound. Being able to last 'til at least -14 is never a bad thing. Also, lingering performance is awesome, awesome, awesome - more rounds rock. TL;DR: I probably didn't add much, other than nod a +1 at Hawk's advice, but either way, smart folks love bards.

Sallah cocks his head to the side, barely acknowledging the scratch from the gillwoman. The sticky webs proceed to settle around the Garundi. reflex save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11 He growls angrily at Quillen as his head pivots both directions. "I know what right is! It's usually the opposite of your advice." delay action to figure out what the fog of war looks like

Sallah is fine with Qadira day job - prof soldier: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 Quote: All checks and activities that rely on vision (such as reading and Perception checks based on sight) automatically fail. Do reflex checks automatically fail when blinded? To break grapple from being webbed requires either a CM or a skill check. The skill check is definitely -4, but is the combat maneuver -4 due to blindness?
Garundi Fighter 6
Does everyone, including the allies of the caster, need to make a save if they're not shutting their eyes? I didn't see Shaolo do so. Fireworks: The fireworks are a flashing, fiery, momentary burst of glowing, colored aerial lights. This effect causes creatures within 120 feet of the fire source to become blinded for 1d4+1 rounds (Will negates). These creatures must have line of sight to the fire to be affected. Spell resistance can prevent blindness.
Garundi Fighter 6
For those that need a quick reference on blinded: The creature cannot see. It takes a –2 penalty to Armor Class, loses its Dexterity bonus to AC (if any), and takes a –4 penalty on most Strength- and Dexterity-based skill checks and on opposed Perception skill checks. All checks and activities that rely on vision (such as reading and Perception checks based on sight) automatically fail. All opponents are considered to have total concealment (50% miss chance) against the blinded character. Blind creatures must make a DC 10 Acrobatics skill check to move faster than half speed. Creatures that fail this check fall prone. Characters who remain blinded for a long time grow accustomed to these drawbacks and can overcome some of them.

Sallah screams out, "Achhh, My eyes..." The blinded fighter takes a small step forward (5') and lashes out at the last place he saw Shaolo, the seated Gillman. power attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 2 + 1 = 18

Sallah draws his falchion and steps forward to base the gillmen. "I wouldn't try anything funny.. Even I can tell that that's no relic. Don't get twitchy and you can walk out of here alive." intimidate: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 intimidate, if allowed.. oops, intimidate is a SA in combat, so nevermind the nice roll.
Garundi Fighter 6
Sallah gets up from his seat, traces of wooziness seeming to have vanished. He walks over next to the two Gillmen, being careful to stay behind Ahrmisa. Peering over their shoulders, he says.. "Well, what do you think? Pretty shiny, eh? I think you may be getting a great deal, a steal of a deal, in fact."
Garundi Fighter 6
Sallah, still looking deathly sick, scowls at the halfling. "There'll be food at the Grindylow’s Goblet. Though how you can eat after crossing all that water is beyond me. Now, I won't turn down a drink... I could use one, maybe two." Sallah weaves off the deck of the boat, continuing to weave onto dry land. "Gods! Why is everything still spinning? Forget the drink... maybe a bit of a rest would be better."
Garundi Fighter 6
Sallah makes himself comfortable on the deck of the ship. He spends his time cleaning and sharpening his weapons. After an hour or so at sea, the Garundi begins to look a bit wan. "Gods... what is this accursed rocking? Man doesn't belong on water, it's... unnatural." Lurching to the edge of the deck, he deposits this morning's breakfast over board. He seems to be spending the remainder of the trip contemplating the great mysteries of the sea. I'm assuming Hawk is correct and it's 7g/each. Subtracting from my wealth

sense motive: 1d20 ⇒ 6 Sallah nods his head, engrossed in idle conversation. "Yes, I find working for Qadira much more profitable than soldiering for Osirian. I found little acclaim as a guardsman. Oft unappreciated, long hours, excessively dangerous for little pay... ironic that entrance to the pinnacle of the fighting profession, the Risen Guard, entailed dying. Do you think dying somehow makes one a better warrior? I think not."
Garundi Fighter 6
Sallah is up early this morning, sharpening his weapons(use whetstone), cleaning his armor and enjoying breakfast outside. The Garundi is taking bites out of stale bread, dipped in what looks to be stew, left over from the previous night's repast. A mug of ale sits by his feet. Nodding at Nestor, already packed and ready to start the day, Sallah greets him and passes a few moments in conversation as they wait for the others. "So Rees, how did you find your way to Absolam and away from Osirion, the cradle of civilization?" The Garundi makes no attempt to hide his sarcasm, clearly annoyed with Osirion.
Garundi Fighter 6
Sallah nods at Hawk, impressed at the amount of information he's gathered in such a short time. "You'll broke no argument from me. All I can think about right now is food. Four days on trail rations, and I'll eat pig swill and thank you for it. Where did the halfling get to? I expect he's already in that inn, pilfering some food." He pauses a moment, a thought suddenly striking him. "We may want to keep an eye out for tobacco or fancy vittles, otherwise we'll have to dangle the old man in front of that girl. Anything we save on the trip over will be more in our pockets when we're done with this."
Garundi Fighter 6
Sallah ignores the former combatants, bleeding and no longer a threat. He inclines his head in admiration as Hawk heals Elindriel. As Quillen moves over, he rubs the halfling's head much like one would a lucky rabbit's foot. "It is good to see you back, Mistress Elindriel. Sadly, that creature's witchcraft delayed us, or we would have been by your side sooner. Perhaps it's magic can be of use to someone. Should we move on, or camp in this... hovel?"
Garundi Fighter 6
Sallah cries in dismay as Elindriel falls to the vicious croc attack. Raising his falchion high overhead, he attempts to deliver a crushing blow to the reptile. PA: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 confirm crit - anatomist: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Free of his bonds, the Garundi moves swiftly through the jungle, making several feet of stunning progress. Mumbling to himself again, Sallah mutters, "This is your fault Quill, it could have been just an old man or woman; why couldn't you have wondered if it was an old man or woman. Maybe it's a witch, does it eat children? Bah, I hate witches." remaining move action this round to end just NW of Rees. (placement will be directly west, however b/c of boundary.

The large man is clearly having a difficult time of it. He spends most of the time submerged in the bog. Between dunks in the bog, Sallah splutters,

Sallah gives Eli a flat stare. "The Society charged us with making sure Rees gets to Escadar in one piece. As long as he trades the precious Society shiny for whatever's been dragged out of the water, I'm happy as a vulture circling a carcass. Whatever else he's got going on is his business." He pauses for a moment, considering whether he's gone too far. "So, if you got to keep an eye on the man for your piece of mind, go ahead, but don't be stirring up trouble." Upon hearing Quillen yell down at him, the mercenary looks up the cliff. "I think I'll just rely on your luck, little one, I'm liable to break my neck climbing up there."

Mistress Elindriel, you're welcome to stay behind and protect these men, or come up with us." Sallah makes another attempt to climb the cliff. climb: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4 His fumbling along the base of the cliff is almost comical. The rocks seem to befuddle the large man.
Garundi Fighter 6
Sallah grunts, thinking no one ever listens to poor Sallah. Not for the first time, he thinks that there stands a fine line between luck and hazard. "Eli, head up there, it'd be best to get to the top before Quill, he's sometimes, over exuberant... It may be slow climbing for me" climb: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0 His words are prophetic as Sallah stumbles across some loose gravel as he worriedly looks at the halfling ascend the cliff.
Garundi Fighter 6
Sallah returns Hawk's nod. "Indeed, the Dawnflower is much loved in Osirion and Qadira. I'm not surprised her blessings are able to hold such sickness at bay. The aid of her followers was most welcome when the arts of the clerics of Abadar were insufficient for the task. Many a comrade has her to thank for their well being." Sallah turns to Quillen, brow raised in now familiar exasperation. "Quill, once again you prove adept at nattering on about details that mean little. Didn't I tell you the old man can probably take care of himself? What you should be talking about is the glint of light on that cliff. It doesn't look too difficult to climb, perhaps we should investigate?"
Garundi Fighter 6
Sallah squints at the party, looking at each with a cocked brow. Grunting, he says, "Of course, the furs probably smell badly anyway. I'll take mid watch as normal. Perhaps I'll share the furs a bit with Quill, he's small." Sallah moves off a small distance, stomping his feet for warmth. Low, under his breath he mutters. muttering: "We've got something unpleasant that no one wants to do, Sallah, why don't you do it, you're big? Why of course, my friends, I'll happily do it, nothing bad ever happens to volunteers."
Garundi Fighter 6
Sallah trundles over to the wagon, stomping his feet along the way. He gives Eli a hearty slap on the back as he peers at the corpses. "Eli, my friend, the dead don't mind, so why should we? Though they seem to be frozen, possessions and all. I guess we need to find a way to warm 'em up!" Sallah scratches his chin for a moment, deep in thought. "Of course, once we do that, it'll probably start to stink something fierce." "I'll start gathering some firewood, maybe we can build a big bonfire!" survival: 1d20 ⇒ 6 After a few moments, Sallah gives up, turning sheepishly back to the party, he says. "My friends, was Archmoon the only one that had an axe?"
Garundi Fighter 6
Sallah stomps his feet, shivering in the cold. "A good fight will get the blood pumping; let's hope Eli finds something. If not, do you think we can use that wagon as a bit of shelter, or at least a big fire?" Sallah pauses to blow into his hands. "You know this map of Torch's is worthless. It should have shown all this wind and snow."
Garundi Fighter 6
Sallah takes a step in front of the old man, Rees, and braces his longspear for an approaching creature. Looking at the eviscerated cat, Sallah gives an appreciative glance over at Elindriel. "Leave something for poor Sallah!" Ready action brace: power attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

As the party is discussing camp for the evening, Sallah begins mumbling to himself. "Sallah, you should stand watch alone, you were a city guardsman back in Sothis. Oh, is that right Quillen? Sallah never talks about his past. Yeah Sallah, you should stand mid watch alone! Oh, no problem friends, I'll happily stand watch alone, Half the guardsmen who stood watch alone got hurt or maimed, but that couldn't possibly happen to me."
Garundi Fighter 6
Sallah begins to help put the camp together for the night. "I know Archmoon is comfortable in the woods alone, but didn't we bring him along to travel with us?" Sallah pauses. "No matter, more spoils for us! Can anyone hunt? I'd sure like some fresh meat to go with this hard tack." |
