"You tread dangerous waters, Suana," warns Saerin. "Compulsion should only be used as a last resort. To do otherwise is not of the Light."

Saerin turns on Galina. "Since when has this Tower been so frightened that we must torture fools? Perhaps these two are nothing more than fools, but I would hear what they have to say. Threatening them with bodily harm and death merely on the basis of "rumors" and "foolish speech" is not how this Tower acts.

I'm sorry, I assumed that the "woman in white" referred to Seaine. I guess that "up by the individual chairs" should have given it away..."

Saerin bows in thanks to the Keeper. "My apologies, Keeper. It is hard to think clearly with such an...unusual amount of shouting in the Hall of Sitters. I meant no disrespect to you, nor to Seaine Sedai."

Saerin stands once again and speaks with a voice of calm curiosity. "You speak of the ancient Portal Stones? How wonderful..." The fascination quickly leaves her tone, though, and she frowns at the woman before her. "You also speak of dangerous things that you should not know about. And neither of you do yourselves any favors by taunting us. Some of whom," she waves a lazy hand towards Galina, "need no excuse to put you to death. You should be thankful that not all of us are so bloodthirsty." Drawing herself to her full height, she absentmindedly straightens her brown shawl. "I suggest that all of us, Sisters and...captives alike, speak with more civility if we are to find the root of this problem."

Turning to White Sitter, Saerin says, "Seaine, you mentioned that you met with this woman that these two speak of recently. If you have not already done so, would you please arrange to have Litheene brought here? Let us start with this one mystery, and perhaps the others will fall into place as well."

"Not only is the Ogier's status as a Blademaster irrelevant," agrees a stately woman in a brown dress, "so too is the woman's dress. I expect better of my fellow Sitters than this. We are all supposed to be the wisest in this Tower, and yet, some of us seem as if they'd rather act as petty, gossiping children." So that her intent is made perfectly clear, she glares at Suana and Nurbaya. "It is my hope that my expectations will not be further dissapointed."

"What is important," she continues, "Is what they are doing here. I do find it hard to believe that the Seanchan empire would send such an obvious pair as spies, or that they would send such a small force as these two to cause trouble. In the absence of an easier course of action, I suggest that we first hear what they themselves have to say, and of their own will. We would be foolish to discount their own words in any course of action we may take." With a narrow-eyed glance to Galina, she adds, "Perhaps other means will be necessary if they do not wish to speak, but there is no need to first jump to such methods."

Turning her head towards Vala and Chen, she waves a hand. With a stern and level look, she says,"Please, continue your story of how you came to this city."
