Obozaya smashes her doshko through the armour of the advancing BorgorBago. The plasma exhausts burn with a heat equivalent to a starship's jump-engine and they melt away the tungsten breastplate before cleaving into the flesh below.

She shouts in joy and triumph as the giant staggers from the mighty blow before waving it on to her. Roaring in a mixture of pain and anger the thing charges and ducks it's head, avoiding the horizontal slash of Obo's weapon and crashing into her mid-rif, lifting even the "immense bulk" of the Vesk easily off her feet before driving her down into the floor of the Sauna's cell, the spongy gelatinous coating fortunately absorbing some of the impact.

But with her weapon knocked from her hand and this massive thing atop her, she is forced to raise her arms in a guard posture as it pounds down with mighty double fisted attacks. One slips through and smashes into her forehead, opening a cut that immediately begins seeping blood into her eye but rather than panic she laughs, unable to contain the pure ecstasy of life-threatening combat.

Every blow is like a cargo crate landing on her chest and head but she is patient, even as the pain flares. As soon as the ettin's latest punch lands she springs up and to the side, bringing her elbow around like a swinging axe. It crashes against one of the giant's noses so hard that even the other ones' eyes fill with tears.

Intending to reverse the hold Obo twists harder but with an almost supernatural strength the ettin holds her in place; first one meaty hand clamping her arm down to the cell floor and then the other. Struggle and snarl as she might, she cannot break the hold and she prepares herself for the thing to start biting chunks out of her face and neck.

With a toothy, bloody grin it leers forward, opening it's mouth, bearing those blunted fangs... and plants a kiss firmly on her lips. She is shocked into stillness. But then she finds her hand reaching up and caressing the rough skin of the giant's face while the other head kisses softly along the scales of her neck frills in a way that sends a quiver down her spine and all the way to her....

------

Obozaya rips the headset off and hurls it across the recreation room. Eventhough it was all a simulation she hawks and spits on the floor before stomping over to the comms unit and once again jabs her finger into the button;

Quig, you bug-eyed space vermin! she yells into the comm loud enough to cause a reverberation of feedback to echo along the steel corridors of the Glory. You mess with my combat simulator again and I'll stuff and mount you on the dashboard!

A growl of anger rumbles in her throat. With a sigh she reaches down to a nearby table to grab her canteen, full of her new low fat diet shake. But instead she grabs something small and fleshy.

Looking down she sees the red goblin looking back up with googly, mismatched eyes, his face plastered in thick, creamy protein shake.

<BBUURRPPP!!>

This crew is either going to be the death of me or I'll be the death of them!

------

UNTIL NEXT TIME FOLKS!

Thanks Hmm, you did a great job and set my expectations pretty high for future society pbp games!

Same for all of you, amazing what people were able to do from a humour and characterisation point of view with just the bare bones of a pregen and a few lines of backstory.

Awesome players, awesome GM.

Really enjoyed my first foray into organised play and Starfinder - a great two-for-one for me!

I just got in from work and about to head out to celebrate a 30th birthday (not mine sadly) but will try to get my epilogue posted tonight.

Great gaming with you all and hope I get a chance to do so again soon!

Obozaya's report is much shorter than the rest, terse and frustrated ending with "Installation run by one half of a ferocious ettin. Dealt with peacefully! the last word is double underlined.

Livewire found herself in a bad crew. I can see how that might happen. She's a good engineer and in my opinion doesn't deserve to die in that place because of one bad decision. she shrugs. But that's up to the Society. If it is my place to say, if the Society considers taking things like that into it's ranks; she points a claw at one of the foolish goblins, almost choking on a grenade stuffed into it's gob. ...then they should consider her too.

The ettin is more difficult. One side wants to kill the other and one won't survive without the brother. Maybe they could be split? I could defiitely do that! she adds firing up her doshko hopefully.

Are you applying at level one, Jamzilla?

Hmm

Well, I confess I'm not 100% sure how it works. This was my first society game of either PF or SFS so since I have no existing characters to apply this to, I created a new one.

So I don't really understand what the chronicle number or starting XP refers to. I'll do some reading up tomorrow.

Obozaya cautiously approaches the vent and pokes at it with her doshko.

Can BorgorBago or BagoBongo.... urgh, I've lost track. And they say two heads are better than one... she says looking down at her boots and giving her head a shake. Can the giant tell us more about this?

Or the console maybe? Whatever it is, this is no moon. she adds.

Hey Hmm, I can empathise. My Dad was diagnosed with alzheimer's only two weeks ago.

We're still in that phase of wanting to acknowledge we need to support him, making him realise he needs support without making him more frustrated than he already is, and also planning for a very uncertain future as best we can.

If you want to talk without someone going through the same thing then I am happy to do so :)

Still uncomfortable that the goblins are being treated as pets or followers, and somewhat disappointed she didn't get to tangle with a two-headed space giant, Obozaya drags her feet back to the group.

Not a bad first mission. she concedes.

Oh I totally did not see that circle of zero gravity! Surprisingly Obo is actually pretty good at Athletics.

Athletics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

I spoke too soon.

Obo rushes forward and disengages the grav-locks on her boots, kicking off into the zero gravity area toward the giant.

Hmph. Being stuck with someone you hate 24/7.... You have my sympathies. Obozaya grunts as she casts a sidelong glance at Quig. But that's not going to stop me beating that big fat face of yours!

Who builds something like this? Obozaya asks, frustrated, before jabbing her fat fingers directly into the "hearts" as indicated by the green space-rats hanging around by Raia.

Obozaya follows herself. Her mood brightens, but only slightly, at the prospect of facing off against the Borgor.

We can put an end to whatever his scheme is, I'm sure. We're working well together as a crew. I don't want to get ahead of myself, there's lots of bullets to fly yet, but maybe we should stick together after this is all done.

Obozaya watches on as the more tech-savvy members of the group try to crack into the system.

She wonders what they might think if she admitted the smell of charred goblin flesh has made her hungry but, remembering Iseph's "immense bulk" comment, she decides against it.

Obo looks suddenly quite offended and, even more surprisingly considerably more hurt by Iseph's words than the white-hot laser blasts mere moments ago.

Many among my people find 'immense bulk' a rather attractive quality I'll have you know.... she grumbles under her breath as she moves away. Maybe I'll squeeze your stupid android head and you'll fit into things more easily.... like the trash compactor...<sniff!>

She stomps off to the ladder and hauls herself onto the catwalk in a huff.

Obozaya makes her way over to Iseph and says;

How is this going to play out, are these goblins going to be.... pets? she says finally, looking for the right description. The So- our employers won't want them left here and if we stick them on a ship out of here they'll either crash into someone or try to rob them.

That throaty rumble emanates again as she seems dissatisfied with any option.

Whatever. Let's deal with this shaman first.

I will have used 1RP to recover stamina as well if Quig is repairing Scout

Obozaya is smart enough to know that the more diplomatic members of the group are putting together what seems to be a pretty effective ruse. That being the case, she stays mostly out of it, stalking back and forth, towering over the goblins.

She hopes her mere presence is something of an unspoken threat that they should keep on the straight and narrow as suggested by Raia.

The shaman is up there somewhere? Obozaya asks, looking up to what might be a control room just off the catwalk. She hefts her doshko and says; I'd like to pay them a visit, rather than let them come back and see us tinkering with the Archer.

It doesn't matter on this particular round as between us, Altronus and I just sent the bully to the big spaceship junkyard in the sky, but... remember when Obo is in melee combat it gives you ranged guys a boost.

Coordinated Shot - When Obozaya is threatening a foe with a melee weapon, any ally with line of sight to that foe without Obozaya granting the foe cover gains a +1 bonus to ranged attack rolls against the foe.

Obozaya Soldier (4) | STP: 32/32 HP: 34/34 RP: 5/5 | EAC: 21 KAC: 23 F: +5, R: +4, W: +4 (+2 vs fear) | Init: +7 | Perc: +0

Seeing Altronus close in on one of the burlier goblins, Obozaya's warcry descends into a gust of joyous laughter as she slings her autotarget rifle and fires up her doshko. It's bright red flames cause shadows to dance and play among the wreckage of the hanger as she dashes forward.

Bringing the plasma weapon down she attempts to do to the bully what she had earlier done to Quig's ludicrous statuette.

Autotarget rifle, Purple: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Obozaya feels the familiar sting of a laser burn but she barely registers it. Instead she drops to a knee and leans out from cover, squeezing off a blast from her autotarget rifle at one of the cavorting gremlins.

GM, can I get onto the catwalk beside me to my left? Is there a ladder or something or is it inaccessible from here?

Oh wait, is it completely dark? I missed that. If so Obozaya only has low light vision and could likely only move half the distance she has, taking cover behind the wreckage on the right side of the map.

They've seen us! Obozaya cries, not disappointed at all. Move up, move up! Watch the flanks and press the attack.

Without waiting to see what the others are doing, she barrels forward, autotarget rifle tucked into the crook of her arm. She runs quick and low, moving from one wreck to her right swiftly to another on her left, taking cover from the goblins but hopefully creating something of a beach-head.

Just going to move up to the position on the map. Figure if I press up there will be less opportunity for them to flank us in a pincer movement from the catwalks on the left and right

Bluff: 1d20 ⇒ 9

Obozaya suddenly looks concerned and hisses to the others;

Hey guys, was that Iseph calling for help!?..... No? <grumblegrumble>

She loudly pulls the operating rod on the side of her autorifle as if in protest, producing a satisfying mechanical clu-chank!

Just to let you know, as a player I am absolutely fine with these tactics. Obozaya just wants to blast some goblin chumps though :)

Obozaya smiles to herself as she sits on the deck of the Glory, slipping hollow point rounds into a magazine for her autorifle. It is more than routine, it's almost reverential.

She does the same with her ember flame doshko, ensuring she has fresh batteries in place and spares as well.

Next comes the thick canister of liquid jet fuel that screws into the base of her personal flamethrower and then several shock grenades find their home in loops at her belt.

Into a series of pouches she also tucks away a medkit and some light healing serum.

Cocked, locked and ready, she steps down the ramp into the complex with a fangy grin on her scaled face and dripping in weapons of war. Her expression of excited delight soon melts away though as the others insist on scouting ahead rather than an all out assault.

Grumbling to herself, she idly kicks bits of scrap around the hangar as the others skulk about.

Satisfied with her work, and with the destruction of the annoying Quig monument, Obozaya stands and stretches her back.

Good to shake the rust off. Think the Glory did very well for her maiden battle, great job crew! she says with enthusiasm.

Now let's see what we came here to see....

She looks over Raia's shoulder as the Technomancer expertly scans the surface and pretty quickly brings up a 3D holographic projection of the tethered starships.

There.[/b Obozaya points. [b]That looks like our way in. Shall we suit up? she asks eagerly.

She lines up a shot on the remaining ship and tries to take it out.

Seeing another blast form the particle beam streak wide of it's mark, a low growl begins to rumble at the base of Obozaya's throat like the sound of distant thunder.

Her grip on the gunnery joystick tightens to the point the plastic in her fist begins to tighten.

Altonus speaks up:

Altronus wrote:
"Obasaya..."he remarks." What is your strategy in this battle?

The Vesk roars then, spewing out a stream of obscenities foul enough to shock even the goblins who are still patched in on the comm.

Her intense gaze on the targeting reticle is broken momentarily as her eyes settle on a cute little metal and wire doll that sits within arms reach on one of the scanning consoles beside her. Quig had been fiddling away at it idly as they passed through the Drift, having scavenged some scraps from somewhere, probably within his cheeks for all she knew. There was remarkable detail on the tiny limbs, the little sack on it's back and even the miniscule flying robot beside it. Quig's little self-sculpture was, she had to reluctantly admit, very fine craftsmanship.

She brings her fist down like a hammer and smashes it to smithereens.

Iseph, hold her steady! she shouts over her shoulder. Quig's... thingy... just took a tumble.

That cheers her up. Only slightly. And she pulls the trigger again.

Gunnery:

Obozaya growls in frustration as a last-moment roll of the ship causes her attack to scorch wide of the goblin junker. At least she tells herself it was Iseph's piloting and not her over-eagerness to blow these gremlins to dust.

As the pilot shouts he is about to enter into another stunt, Obozaya braces herself and waits this time to line up the shot as the ship rights itself from the roll.

Apologies guys, I've had a busy couple of days and will be pretty tied up tonight too. Should be back on track tomorrow. Apologies for the short post.

As the ship rocks and rolls with Iseph expertly barrelling through space and wheeling back to get Obo into a firing position, she pulls the trigger on the particle beam once more.

Obozaya lurches back and forth in her gunnery position as Iseph puts the Glory through her paces. But she seems to be stifling a giggle of excitement as she lines up one of the junkers on the holographic heads up display that she always felt made combat in one of these larger vessels feel more like a game than the real thing.

Still, if you can't enjoy the tilt of the ship as it swoops into position and the beep of the green lock-on indicator, then in Obo's opinion you should just plot a course for the nearest black hole and be done with it.

They are lining up our engines. Obozaya shouts over her shoulder, forgetting they are all connected on the intercom. Let's see what they make of a particle beam to the face!

Light particle beam, turret: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 6) = 10

Quick question, gunnery = just base attack + dex + any bonuses/penalties?

All the best Gayel, hope things work out

Nice to see you again Luwazi. Obozaya says as she settles down in her gunnery chair and spins it to address the hologram.

Yes we gained access to the prison and Livewire. That place though.... I don't know if much could have prepared me for that. Not only the heat and the smell but the warden's sycophantic nature. That was the most sickening thing. she grimaces. Still, it's a prison not a Veskarian Recreation Camp, nothing so delightful as that.

After this she relays what they had to learned from Livewire and their intention to leave almost immediately to make haste for the false moon.

Sorry guys, wifi dropped out earlier

Stay safe, Livewire. Obozaya says with some gravity. You can get through your sentence here if you keep your head down and your nose clean. Or whiskers clean maybe. she adds and leans down to give the ysoki a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder.

So we know we have to contend with goblins, tractor beams and some unknown technology below the surface. I'm glad I signed up for this, it beats blasting Radroaches for a handful of credits.

Come on, let's get back to the Glory before the Warden can squidge and slobber all over us again.

Stay safe Livewire. Obozaya says with some gravity.
