Human Sloth Mage 5/Bloatmage 3
On the plus side, I have now played through all of the Thornkeep levels. (I played a bunch of them on a different character to get him ready for Bonekeep.) On the minus side, it means I can't play through the rest with you guys. It's a side effect of being very active in PFS for 4.5 years now - I don't have much left I can play. Besides, this guy now has to get ready for The Traitor's Lodge, seeing as he's apparently doing the Grand Lodge story line. Anyways, it was great playing with you guys! And it was great playing under you David! Maybe I'll see you guys at the next PBP Game Day from the other side of the table!

Rutlius got skipped round 2, but seeing as we have this under control, I'm just going to fire off some acid arrows and call it a day. Rutlius watched as Ol' Squawky savages a goblin. "Way to go!" he calls out as he draws the wand he found on the alchemist earlier and starts firing it at the flying thing above Julian. Acid Arrow to hit Round 2: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
Human Sloth Mage 5/Bloatmage 3
Well, it looks like he has what he's studying between scenarios now. Shame I've already played all the other Bonekeep levels - Rutlius is now really interested in Bonekeep. "Oh man. This is going to make for great research back in Absalom! I can't wai*snore*" Rutlius seems to have put himself to sleep from all his excitement. Shall we move to the next room?
Human Sloth Mage 5/Bloatmage 3
"Well, now I know why I was sent on this mission!" Rutlius exclaims as he grabs the books. He looks as giddy as if you had offered him a large cake. He looks over the books and crystal with great enthusiasm. Knowledge (arcana) on the crystal?
Human Sloth Mage 5/Bloatmage 3
Rutlius pets Ol' Squawky as he flies over to him before disappearing, then pours over the magic items to see if there's anything useful in them. Spellcraft on the container of oil: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Rutlius was only half paying attention when Elindriel said something about doors, replying "Yeah, doors are good. They're pretty useful," before going back to identifying items.
Human Sloth Mage 5/Bloatmage 3
Rutlius tries to figure out what is going on with the snake.
Rutlius smiles as Ol' Squawky savages up the hovering man. "Maybe you should attack the bird? Apparently you're not as smart as you look!" He then shoots off an acid splash at the guy hovering up there.
We've identified that the snake has damage reduction, which is why I'm not summoning anything else. DR does hurt me, and I can't imagine needing another bird to finish the human off. (Unless he throws a bomb at the bird, in which case you guys should have the snake finished and we can pull out ranged weapons and finish him off.)
Human Sloth Mage 5/Bloatmage 3
I think I'm going to hold off on my other summons. Given that Rutlius can't actually see the combat, it's probably better for him to get an idea of what's actually going on before blowing another spell. Rutlius huffs and puffs to right outside the room. "Alright, what have we here?" Knowledge checks on the human and the snake?
Human Sloth Mage 5/Bloatmage 3
"No point in hacking them up - if we find stuff to activate them ourselves then we can use them. Either way, I'm sure when we get back to the society, someone will be able to produce a power source and then we can get minions! Awesome hard hitting minions!"
Human Sloth Mage 5/Bloatmage 3
Knowledge (arcana) you say? Rutlius makes his way to the goblin, inspecting the weird vials coming out of his head. "Any more things want to attack us right now?" he calls out to no one in particular. Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13 After he checks out this goblin, he's going to check out the statue and see what's salvageable.
Human Sloth Mage 5/Bloatmage 3
Rutlius sees the goblin and gets ready to send in Ol' Squawky when he sees Ki run straight through it. Well, he's not much for this world. Also, how the hell did the goblin get through that door? And what's with the weird vials? Acid Splash the goblin since there's no way he's long for this world. Also, what kind of knowledge to know about those weird vials out of his head?
Human Sloth Mage 5/Bloatmage 3
So, it's not clear what square that R2 is supposed to be in, but it is clear that there's no way you flank with me since I'm not holding a melee weapon. Also, if my ready goes off, I'll acid splash the first rat I see. If not, then I'll 5-ft back, acid splash, and then shift 5ft further away. Acid Splash (w/ an acid flask as an alchemical focus): 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7
EDIT: Well, that's a miss. Also what the heck with my initiative? For someone with a -3 initiative, I've been rolling ridiculous all game...

Jostrum Finderwell wrote: @Rutlius: How'd the game go last night? I didn't think I had much chance as 5th Alt. Went well, although there was one turn I did with the end boss that was questionable (and is in fact still being questioned. Yay gray areas!) It was one of the few times I've seen a boss follow her tactics pretty much until the end of the fight and they were strong tactics. On a side note, just to let you all know - I'm still getting the hang on when I should pull the trigger for my summons and when to hang back. So if you guys feel like I'm not doing anything/not pulling my weight, let me know. Playing a lazy character (thassilonian specialist of sloth) is harder than I thought it would be.

Rutlius hears the sound of gears grinding and gets excited. "Don't let it fall apart completely! I want to study it!"
I about good for an acid splash and that's about it, but I'll let you all claim spots before I go in. I would imagine that something that sounds like gears grinding probably has hardness, which means that Ol' Squawky isn't going to be much help.

"Well, whatever just hurt Ol' Squawky probably wasn't a big insect - unless big insects evolved into wielding hammers or something. As far as I know, no one's come up with that technology yet. You all should probably check on what's down there." Ol' Squawky perches on Rutlius' shoulder. Rutlius pets him until he fades away. Good, so he at least makes it back before he disappears since he lasts for 4 rounds. I figured the profile for the bird would be the easiest way of making sure that you had the correct stats for him since I have Augment Summoning. Apparently, I made the stat line for it, but didn't put its stat block on the profile page, so I'm going to go do that now.

GM BPChocobo TK2 wrote: Rutlius... your spell is about to go off, although you could use the bird in other clever ways :P Not really, seeing as I can't command it in any way. (Next level when I can summon elementals that changes. But then again I'll also have acadamae graduate, so that'll be a big help too.) Feel free to have it fly around, searching for enemies.

"Looks like the trap is dependent on sight. I can get out pretty easily, so if you want me to attempt to push the last person through, I can. I'm not good at it though." Rutlius moves up and takes notes on the trap. I can use my Shift ability to teleport out since it is a supernatural ability and not a spell-like. Granted, I'm not very good at bullrushing, but I can give a good attempt. Does involve me taking 2d6 fire though, since the trap misses me on a 1.
Human Sloth Mage 5/Bloatmage 3
Rutlius seems to perk up a bit when the trap is set off. "Magical fire wind trap, eh? Let's see if we can figure out a little bit about it then?" Detect Magic plus Spellcraft or Know:arcana help us figure out what is going on? (I'm guessing Know:arcana for ongoing spell effect. Both are at the same bonus.) I'm specifically trying to figure out if this magic trap has a duration if at all possible. Spellcraft/Know:arcana: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24 EDIT: "Looks like nothing I couldn't teleport out of, so don't worry about me too much."
