Ruperta pets the creature.

She goes back to secure the cart, let the horse free to pasture while they are gone, and use a rock to ruin the bear trap.

She goes to the trail and turns towards the others.
"Shall we?"

Ruperta, trying not to get dirty with the blanket, stores it.
She will go an see what the Firepelt want to show them.

Ruperta looks at the corpse sadly.
"I've never liked the loss of life. But he left us no other choice."
She checks his clothing for information and loot.

Ruperta moves behind one of the dogs, and attack it flanking with the firepelt, using her starknife.
"Get away of here!"

Seeing the hunter attack Ruperta surges forward towards her companions, and prays for Desna's help in the fight ahead.
"Oh Dreamer, don't forsake us in our time of need."
Casts Prayer on all combatants, +1 luck bonus on attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saves, and skill checks, while each of your foes takes a –1 penalty on such rolls.

Ruperta, back at her wagon, sees the others talking to the hunter while preparing to get her bow if needed.
Perception (-10 distance): 1d20 + 7 - 10 ⇒ (2) + 7 - 10 = -1
She can hardly see what is happening.

Ruperta is far or close?

Got it. She will remain with the wagon after healing the firepelt, and let the others defend it.

Ruperta slowly closes to the Firepelt again and sees if a healing spell, or only natural healing, will fix the creature leg.
Healing Check (+2 Healing Kit): 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 8 + 2 = 15
If a healing spell helps, she will cast it.
Just let me know.
Finally, she will try and move the wagon between the sound of the dogs and the firepelt, having the care of not spooking the horse with the firepelt.

As soon as she is able, Ruperta will go for the Firepelt, and kneel next to it.
"It is sad to see such a creature prisoner. Desna, please help it get free of its bondage! Let it be free!"
She casts Liberating Command on the Firepelt, hoping to free it.
+16 to Escape Artist check to escape. With a couple Aid Another bonuses it can become a +20.

That is the best-taken care of Firepelt I have ever seen.

Ruperta, taking care of her wagon looks at the others.
"Can you check what is that? If there is an aminal in distress, maybe we can help it. If a trap, we can prevent others from falling into it. I'll go as soon as I have the wagon safely on the other side."

I intentionally left some of Ruperta spells unprepared, so she can prepare new ones over the days as she needs...

Do you prefer for her to have all of her spells prepared at the start of the day?

"Excuse me, sir..." - Ruperta tells the innkeeper - "How far is Fort Rennick? Could we get there before dark?"
After hearing the answer, Ruperta answers Sephne.
"I wouldn't like to arrive at the Fort at night, tired, and discover it overrun by ogres or something. Is better to arrive at a good time."
Ruperta would like to sleep in town, and depart the next day at the earliest. But if you all prefer to speed up the departure, it is ok.

Timeskip to the road. Yes, unless it's obvious the road will be unpassable, she will bring the wagon.

In Ruperta's case, you are getting to know her. She was in Korvosa for a while and staring a new chapter in her life.
But you find her a good companion in a short time.

Ruperta winces a little at the high prices, but pays 8 1/2 gp for a night and some meals, as the storage for her wagon.
"Thank you, we will depart tomorrow early for the Fort. Please have my wagon and horse ready."
Ruperta tells the others what she found out.
"At least 3 weeks with no word of them. I fear that is not good, and we will walk into tragedy. When a flock of crows gathers the grandmothers prepare to weep." - She ends with another old varisian saying.
Finally, she checks no one is overhearing them, and finishes.
"Seems the lake has been the source of much rumors and strange happenings. I wouldn't be surprised something stirs under the waters."

So 500 gp in diamond dust, and we have another 1,500 gp to spend...

What else?

Ruperta looks at her dirty feet.
"No home is as warm as a good inn after a long journey." - she greets him in a traditional Varisian fashion.
"I hope you don't mind us getting your place a little dirty. We thank you for your hospitality, and a seat by the fire, something to drink and news to hear would be great if you can accommodate us. I would also need accommodations for my wagon and horse if you don't mind."
In time she will try to gather information about the place, and about the missing Order of the Black Arrow.

Perception Check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Don't forget your list of "things to throw"...

No need. Ruperta has a Wand of Cure Light Wounds already and can cast cure spells anyway, as Restoration and Lesser Restoration. She only needs the diamond dust (which she already has some, but to "complete" the 1,000 gp worth would be nice, she has 500 gp already).

Answered in game. Let's get some info at the inn.

Ruperta looks at Sephne taking her boots off, and smiles to her.
"I like your spirit."
She takes her own boots off, and puts them in the wagon, trying to avoid filling it with mud. She asks for Sephne's boots too, to put them next to hers.
She feels the mud in her toes and shivers a little.
"When you travel in dwarven lands let your beard grow." - She recites a popular Varisian saying.
She takes Sephne's arm and walks with her, leading his horse and cart, towards the inn.

Ruperta, while reading her wagon, invites you all to put your stuff inside, safe from the rain.
"We need to reach Fort Rannick, the base of the Order of the Black Arrow, and see what has happened to them. Our travels have not finished, Desna is still with us."

Ruperta thank the ferryman, and gives him a Varisian blessing.
"Might the night butterfly accompanies you wherever you go and lead you back to your family and home."
Even with the rains and difficulties of travel, she seems happy. Ruperta tells you that she spent a long time at Korvosa, and she is happy to be "in the great outdoors".
"Our life is a travel. A travel of discovery. To stay in just one place is to die a long dead. I am glad I am on the move again."

I recommend buying some diamond dust, the component of the Restoration line of spells, but also "convertible" to money and easy to carry.

She will get Dodge (w/Mobility integrated) and Weapon Focus (Longbow) - both go well with her background.
As for her HP, I will roll for 7 levels.

Ruperta of Hetzau is a Young Human Varisian Healer and Midwife (Cleric), a follower of Desna, who has been directed, in a vision from her goddess, to look for a green star. She doesn't know what this "Green Star" is, or where it is located.
But the believer in luck and the luck is where The Great Dreamer directs you, so she will go.
Together with her friends Pai, Pax, Corbyn and Slumper, she braved the dangers of Korvosa and the Crimson Throne, bringing the mad Queen there to a halt. But the dreamer called, and now she embarked in a new quest.

She finished Curse of the Crimson Throne, and it is a dedicated buffer / healer. If you like her I can retool her to your campaign.

I would love to use this character, leveling her from 14th to 16th level, for this adventure.
She is a diplomat and party buffer, and ranged combatant.
Any comments? Do you need something more for her submission?

I have to say this has been the best campaign I have played online to date. I have to thank you all, specially Our Mysterious Benefactor, for this wonderful game!
It is also the most I have levelled a character!

Ruperta, her eyes covered by a blindfold, holding Slumper's arm so she can walk around after getting blinded, lets out a small laugh.
"Queen? Government? I am sorry, but I am just a young varisian girl."
She presses on Slumper.
"A young varisian girl in love, and I think motherhood will be more than a challenge for me."
She smiles sweetly.
"Besides, I was born under a wandering star. This city is way too peaceful for me."
Ruperta then asks Slumper to walk her in front of Pai. She then kneels before her gnome friend.
"But if you want a wise and noble ruler, somebody able to undo the evils the last Queen did, you have the best candidate you can wish for right here. Maybe she is short in stature, but her mind and heart is the biggest of us all. Queen Pai, if I can make but one request, help my people to be respected in this, your city, as equals."

The idea of Ruperta retiring as a blind cleric, after witnessing what she has seen, seems like a fitting end... :D
