Appearance:

Rowän is short and lanky, standing a bit under 1.6 meters tall, with a lithe build. The willowy druid’s plain, lightly freckled, face always looks like she’s about to laugh and her hazel eyes are filled with mischief. Rowän is often mistaken for a man as she wears her ginger-colored hair short and dresses in leathers and breaches.

Personality:
Rowän is a free spirit known to be brash and headstrong. She is inquisitive as well as a lover of debate and is quick to laugh at herself and others. However, she has little tolerance for bullies or those who would harm the woods or its inhabitants. If given the choice the slender druid would rather be sitting in the shade smoking her pipe or around a campfire with friends singing loud and off-key. Rowän finds it amusing to give advice in riddles, aphorisms, and metaphors with nature-like themes. The Druid has been known to take in strays and mother them.

Questions:

1. What did you do during the conflict?  Rowän had just started her apprenticeship under the tutelage of the Druid Melodia when the restoration wars broke out. Much to Rowän’s chagrin, she spent just as much time cleaning out the centaur stables at Fort Rampart as in study during the conflict.
2. Name one specific person from your past, you have lost contact with during the conflict. Tymeron the centaur who served as her bodyguard when her training took her out of the fort. He put himself in harm's way many a time and was wounded late in the conflict protecting her. They were separated and never reunited.
3. Quirks to be aware of?  She talks to herself often laughing at her own jokes. She will take in strays (people or animals [including party members]) and mother them.
4. What unsettles your PC? Romance, relationships, and her inability to commit. Necromancy and the thought of becoming undead.
5. Particular goals in life? Although she would never admit it Rowän dreams of joining the circle of elders and starting her own grove.

Background:

Rowän was born on a small farm in the rolling hills of the verdant Turalean Forest about a two days walk from the capital of Pierpont. She arrived in this world during a winter storm, on the longest night of the year. It is said that when Rowän was born she was covered in coarse red hair and that you could hear a great tumult of animal cries as she left the womb. Unfortunately, her birth coincided with the death of her mother.

She was the youngest of nine children, the only girl, and she was doted on by her father and older siblings. In this environment, it should come as little surprise that Rowän became a bit of a tomboy growing into a headstrong young woman with an aptitude for animals, hunting, and archery. As a result of her superior marksmanship, her father gave her the family bow to keep and pass down to her heirs. The farm girl’s life changed when a traveling Druid, Melodia, sought shelter at their farmstead. Rowän became infatuated with this enchanting and flighty elf. When the druid left the young farm girl followed leaving behind a hastily scribed note for her family.

Startled by the youth following her Melodia was tempted to send her back home but the druid recognized Rowän’s gift and took her on as an apprentice. Unfortunately, it was only a few weeks before the outbreak of the restoration wars and Melodia was given command of a military company. This changed the tone, tenor, and time dedicated to Rowän’s training.

Druid training was not a walk in the woods so to speak, much to Rowän’s chagrin, she spent just as much time cleaning out the centaur stables at Fort Rampart as in the study of druidic lore. The young apprentice was put under the care of Tymeron, a centaur, who oversaw her day-to-day training and was assigned as her bodyguard when Rowän’s training took her onto the battlefield. It was the centaur that helped her rear the lynx cub she found starving and tangled in a briar patch. Tragically, Tymeron was lost to her when they became separated during a battle and were forced to leave him behind.

After, experiencing years of warfare and loss Rowän finds it hard to form attachments with people.

Feats: Agile Maneuvers
Skills: Stealth (13), Perception (5), Acrobatics (6)
Tricks (7)
AID: The animal can use the aid another action to aid a specific ally in combat by attacking a specific foe the ally is fighting. You may point to a particular creature that you wish the animal to aid, and another that you want it make an attack roll against, and it will comply if able. The normal creature type restrictions governing the attack trick still apply.
ATTACK x 2: The animal attacks apparent enemies. You may point to a particular creature that you wish the animal to attack, and it will comply if able. Normally, an animal will attack only humanoids, monstrous humanoids, giants, or other animals. Teaching an animal to attack all creatures (including such unnatural creatures as undead and aberrations) counts as two tricks.
COME: The animal comes to you, even if it normally would not do so.
DOWN: The animal breaks off from combat or otherwise backs down. An animal that doesn’t know this trick continues to fight until it must flee (due to injury, a fear effect, or the like) or its opponent is defeated.
STAY: The animal stays in place, waiting for you to return. It does not challenge other creatures that come by, though it still defends itself if it needs to.
SNEAK: The animal can be ordered to make Stealth checks in order to stay hidden and to continue using Stealth even when circumstances or its natural instincts would normally cause it to abandon secrecy.

SQ:
Artful Acrobat (Ex): A daredevil gains a competence bonus on Acrobatics checks equal to half its Hit Dice. [This replaces share spells.]
Uncanny Dodge (Ex): At 6th level, a daredevil gains Mobility as a bonus feat without needing to meet the prerequisites. If it already has Mobility, it gains Spring Attack instead. [This replaces devotion.]
Devil May Care (Ex): At 9th level, a daredevil can’t be flanked. [This replaces Multiattack.]
