So, I was looking at doing Rost as a paladin and trying to do the whole growing demon thing as a race or feats, and then I realised there was a much simpler way. Synthesist Summoner.
Whatever Rost is turning can - when it has to - lurk inside him.
I just make sure I always use "Fused Link" to make sure that the Eidolon stays around while he is concious.
