I realise this is bringing back a dead thread two years later, but since I've been looking into it and thought it was cool I'll leave this feat boost for the soldier here in case others are interested.

'Whenever you use the Cleave or Great Cleave feat, you can make subsequent attacks against foes that are not adjacent to one another, provided each foe is within your reach.'

If you combine this with a race that has a natural reach of 10 feet and the Lunge feat, then potentially hitting all enemies in a 15ft radius sounds pretty badass to me.

Could take some other feat boosts to remove the -2AC penalties from either cleave or lunge or both as well.

Basically I want to know how people think this should work as its come up in a game we've just started and will impact how a player wants to build their character.

Q)If a Mystic takes Secondary connection at 3rd level, and therefore sacrifices their 3rd level connection power, once they reach a higher level is it/should it be possible to sacrifice a higher level connection power in order to regain the lower level power they lost?

My thoughts are that since the Mystic is effectively losing out by giving up a higher level (and therefore more powerful) connection power, it would be acceptable, but maybe against RAW. Also there is some precedent since they could take Improved Secondary Connection to gain the level 3 power from their other connection bydoing exactly that and sacrificing a higher level ability. What are your thoughts?

For context, they're shadow connection but really want the Walk The Void level one ability from Star Shaman. Problem is, to get it at level 3 when it might actually be helpful rather than late game, they need to give up Shadow Shroud. But without Shadow Shroud their other shadow connection powers are effectively unusable in brightly lit areas, so they want to give up one of the more powerful abilities at levels 9 or 12 to regain the level 3 Shadow Shroud.
