Silver Crusade

The rules seem to not be clear about thus so here is my question.

"..."Regardless of the target, smite evil attacks automatically bypass any DR the creature might possess."

If a NPC with DR5/Magic is hit how would you interpret this?

One interpretation is that a hit bypasses DR for all the _smite evil_ portion of the damage and the DR is applied against the mundane portion of the weapons damage.

The other interpretation is the all damage avoids the DR including mundane

Thoughts? Thank you!

Hi fellow GM's. I would love some input about how you feel this can or would affect the campaign.

Spoiler:
One of the PC's is a distant cousin of the Valdemar family. He also is an unwitting messenger for the Brothers of the Seven when he delivered a note on behalf of the 'business organization' to Aldern Fixglove.

With this background my idea is to have Magnimar playing hardball with Sheriff Hemlock where it boils down to they want a better tithe deal or they wont be able to help

Has anyone done these types of things? A plot outside of the main plot moves forward and can have a real affect on things down the line? Ideas on how you did it and what did and did not work would be awesome. :-) Thanks very much in advance!

I am having a Cavalier that is a distant cousin of the Valdemars join the party in the 2nd session...

Spoiler:
He is being sent by his mentor in the Brothers of the Seven 'Society' to deliver a note to Aldern at the dinner table with the heroes at The Rusty Dragon. He will then be able to join the party after helping them through the Catacombs.

My question is can I play the Brothers of the Seven as a totally normal society of rich people somewhat like freemasons and not be burned down the plotline in this AP? Whereas only one of them is involved in this mess?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Has anyone compiled a list of side adventures that could be done in Varisia for the camapign?

I have seen a couple of suggestions but not one where there was some sort of list compiled.

Thanks in advance!

What do you think of this idea?

I am a new GM hoping to make a good impression :-)
