Romo indulges his new friend, if only to escape boredom,"We will probably be fighting Gnoll tomorrow. They are largely predictable in combat, resorting to tactics used by most men. I say largely, because I can't say that I have fought as many as I would have liked. We could possibly be facing spellcasters or other types of well trained warriors. All these are in addition to the natural hazards we will face in our journey to Kelmerane."
"So to answer your question: No, I don't really know much of anything about what we will be facing or how combat will be. I guess we should just prepare for the worst"
Romo sits in the shade with his back to a monastary wall. When he hears Lady Almah approach he starts to stand up, but realizes Hale is already up to the task.
Afterwards he sits down again, hoping nobody has seen him. No point in unloading other people's luggage.
Later that evening
Romo wakes.
"What a weird dream."
He gets up and pokes Erevale. "Your turn's done, you can go sleep now if you wish."
With that he sees out his watch. Hopefully without any nasty surprises or any dreaming.
In one motion Romo sits up and gasps for air as his snoring reaches a climax."Wha?...Not yet.", he says, as he fails to notice that it is Hale that is awake next to him, not Erevale.
And with that he turns on his other shoulder and closes his eyes.
Addressing Erevale,"Yes, we should settle. Who knows, we might even hear Khismia if we are quiet enough. The wind has certainly died down."
Romo is loathe to split the party, so he joins Hale in the courtyard.
"Look. The girl might be naive and young, but she can hold her own in combat. I think she's got what she came for and left. If she gets lost or thirsty on her way back, she will probably try to find the old campsite, but the deep tracks from there, will lead her here."
"So either way I propose we drop the search, unless we have new reason to suspect foul play."
"If the monastary is on the way to Kelmarane, then maybe we can move ahead while you follow? We will look for Khismia at the monastary, if she isn't here in camp. Once done we will move on to Kelmarane, while the rest set up camp at the monastary."
Romo greets everyone he sees outside with a simple wave, and proceeds to tie up his donkey on a nearby tree. He places his pack and extra weapons on the ground below the animal.
Afterwards he follows the group inside and stands idly while they speak.
Romo picks up his pace to match that of Gander. "I see what you're trying to do! You want to take them all for yourself. Ha, that will be the day!"
He sprints ahead a dozen yards or so, and tries to maintain the lead on the way back. He also doesn't neglect his surroundings, and tries to spot any Gnolls or similar beasts.

"Aye. I'm sure we will run in to some not long after we depart. I'm quite keen to hone my talents further, and what better way then battle.
Romo turns to Hale,"Leader Lady, what say you? will we linger or leave?
"But her assertiveness is what we love about her!", Romo interjects before any infighting results of the gossiping.
He speeds up to Hale while taking out his greatsword. "Where are you taking us? to that far corner? I don't think there is anything there."
Although Romo is surprised to find an elf down in here, he doesn't feel particularly threatened.
"Reveal your origin and destination to us, Erevale. We are far off the beaten track and unless you want to taste steel, you had better have a clear reason for being here."
Romo walks down the flight of stairs in to the undercrypt. His expression changes from indifferent, to stern and serious.
"What the...
He pokes a body or two. "Does anyone know what happened here? I'm not too knowledgeable about this regions history. A battle like this wouldn't evade notice."
He walks down the main thoroughfare, looking cautiously through the bodies and rubble, trying to find anything out of the ordinary (ignoring the fact that scores of corpses are out of the ordinary)

Romo moves up to the statue. "This guy has seen better days. I wonder what he's waiting for?"
Romo sees Hale run out of the room, then looks at Gander walking over to the notes.
"Maybe, we should see what has her so worked up."
He quickly follows Hale back up, then watches the peculiar display of her digging for, and then finding the dagger.
"How in the name of all that is divine, did you know to dig there?"
Fort Save 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Romo dodges as the slithering creature has a go at him. He readies his blade for when it comes back within reach.

"I don't think you should be playing with that thing."
I think i'm woundless!
Romo allows Hale to whip him about a bit, but then slows down as he enters the vast laboratory. After making sure nobody is inside, he starts to have a careful look through the room for anything suspicious or valuable.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Romo slows down as he sees Gander stop. He turns in response to Gander's comment and has a closer look at the fungus.
Will try K(nature) if possible :D
Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
"Hale, will you stick close to me? It's pretty dark down there and since you have the torch...
Romo (and Gander) lead the way down the stairs.
Do you mean to the right of A13?
Romo motions with his head to the east, "Let's check out that place."
He waits for anyone who wishes to follow, then walks in through the archway in to the room.
If it is uneventful I will have a look around
Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Romo lashes out at the final pugwampi,
"MEET YOUR DOOM!"

Romo sticks to Hale and slices at the first threat he sees.

Romo slashes at the incoming baboon.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Damage: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
"These are not hairy men. They are filthy beasts that deserve a swift death!"
Romo charges the nearest baboon and slices at it with his glaive!

"Let us not judge them by their literary taste..."
Damage: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
"...but by their screams of agony!"
"Yea. Could be a bird."
Romo rests his back against one of the walls, and takes a breath.
Afterward he shouts "Come people, we have much left of this damned place."
He points at the opening to his side (left on map), "Let's go in there.
He waits for the others to join, before leading the way.
Romo quickly takes out his glaive.
"What did you see? is there something up there Gander?"
Romo squints as he tries to focus on a target
Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Romo grabs his pick by ripping it from the creature. "You do like scratching around in dirty places 'ey Hale?"
He has a look around the room for anything out of the ordinary.
Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Then follows Gander back out for some fresher air.
"These are Stirges. Nasty things. Don't let them come close to you."
Romo rummages through his backpack for a second and produces a light pick. He draws the weapon in a 270 degree arc and flings it at the critter.
Attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Damage 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Romo looks down at the creature for a second to see if he recognises it.

Attack 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Damage 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Do I get to make an attack of opportunity on the one coming for me? Since I have a glaive out with reach. How big are these creatures, and how far can they reach?
Romo drops the torch and takes out his glaive, and moves in behind the creature, trying to flank it with Hale.
Romo looks at Hale, and then to Khismia, and back to Hale.
"Are we killing them?"
"I don't want to leave some of them wandering around this place to jump at us while we are sleeping"
Romo steps back, leans down, and picks up the torch with one hand.
He readies to throw it up into the rafters if the creatures attempt to fight from range.
Initiative 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Romo attacks the closest creature and tries to set up a cleave between the two, if they are close enough together.
Power Attack with Glaive:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 (Threat.)
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 (Probably not confirmed.)
1d10 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19 (Damage)
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 (Cleave, and a miss)
Romo takes out a torch and lights it. "I don't have three arms, so can somebody else take this please?"
"My weapon needs all my attention."
Romo's now a little confused by the lack of leadership in the group. As a follower he steps in behind Hale with weapon drawn.
"Please, not more of these things."
"I agree, we should have a further look around."
He turns around and walks back east and slightly to the south before turning to Gander,"You coming?", he then steps in to the unexplored room.
Is there anything inside that little shrouded corner to the west (top of map)?
Romo moves to the entrance of the western area (the only part on that side that is unexplored). Weapon drawn, he has a look around.
"If you need help with that box, let me know."

Updating profile now.
