Scarab Sages 2/5

Name: Romari Sycamore, the Fluorite Sage
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Race: Human
Class: Abjurer 11
Description: A typical garundian he grew up in Sothos to a large family of Carpenters who helped supported him in his studies of magic. Interest in the history of Osiria, knowledge in general and a love of using magic led him to join the Pathfinders. Romari's fashion sense has a lot to be desired even to clash with his gleaming white teeth although his trusty companion, Shae a greensting scorpion accompanies him at all times and does his best to make up for Romari's somewhat off putting manner.
Often the smartest man in the room he is an expert in many fields and embraces any opportunity to learn. He's never given up his roots and carries a selection of tools around to help fix doors broken by overzealous companions.

Thanks for the clarification, that makes me happy.

I thought if you changed faction you couldn't complete anymore faction goals on that old faction card. Scarab Sages are being retired so i have to change, i thought at start of season 10. Is this not correct? Can i continue being Scarab Sage?

Scarab Sages 2/5

Wait, what? You mean season 9 is still on? I have a scarab sages who needs one faction card goal to complete a boon. How long do i have? I was told season 10 starts with gen con. Anyone point me at an official date i can't still play my ss character as SS?

I've found the new players often keep quiet about the problems they have in filling out paper work. A very quick scan usually identifies a need to find some time to help them. I tend to let them play but then talk them through afterwards. Usually find a number of innocent errors and a player happy to learn. an occasional audit can be a good thing but time can be an issue plus most mistakes I've seen are actually hurting the character although the +2 item is usually the give away a conversation is required.

Hmm sounds like you fall squarely in the group I have no problem with. I think the clear character sheet and maths worked out is great. Really works for lots of pople.

My issue is those who choose to play a class they haven't really read or understood but use Herolab to create a character but then don't understand it. If your system is, choose class you've never read or played before use Herolab to create it and then come sit at my table. This I have an issue with.I have no problem, in fact activity like those who know the Class and then use Herolab to make life easier for them.

My experience is more of the ones who use it to avoid reading and understanding rules then those that don't. If they do so with a core class I am fine, same as any new starter, I can help them because I'm really familiar with cosre stuff. Start going into the more recent classes and the game stops when I ask the player to explain their ability and recieve a blank stare.

I still like looking at new stuff so I don't consider myself burned out.

When I gm I hate anyone who uses Herolab but doesn't understand their class. If I know it then I can explain their abilities to them but for the newer stuff I'm not familiar with the game can drag. I trust a player if they tell me they know it, Herolab users , in my experience admit they don't.

My -1 is Scarab Sages, Osirion, focused on knowledge and archeology. I get the story arcs may be finished but I'd like longer to be able to actually play them all. I like the idea of an inactive faction. No new content, no new faction card, no new members. Let those of us with characters have an extra year to play and get them to retirement. I'm going to ask local gms to run stuff for me. online is not an option for me, and potentially even if it were real life gets in the way of that much game time.
So, please reconsider retirement into inactive status.
Thanks

Does anyone play a cavalier who isn't a Halfling on a wolf? Do they all belong to a special pathfinder society company? The Absolom Irregulars perhaps.

Congratulations to the finalists.

I'm interested in what got thrown out for not being PFS legal. I'm guessing those who put work in to enter would be knowledgeable about PFS so they clearly missed something. I'd like to know what so I don't make the same mistake. It should be anonymous on who made the errors but listing them would help me. 'Mistakes to avoid when building a PFS character' A helpful learning tool.

Phantoms can't wear armour. It's a typo that's corrected with a FAQ. Also can't use weapons. Can use other magic items but i suspect can't walk through walls when wearing them.
