To make things worse, I started to read Release that Witch, a chinese novel, and guess the name of the main character?

And then I came back after moving and reestablishing my wi-fi to see this ending? Damn it guys, common!

I've not read those novels, but I'm about to start reading a lot these days, so maybe that's in line, who knows.

Well, my new house looks definitely not ready, since it's a freaking mess all around, but at least we're out of the rent, and we have more space for our four cats and dog. Anyway, with this game ending I'm not sure if I'm gonna continue in any other games around the boards, so in case you need me just send me an e-mail at wmx7@hotmail.com

Thanks for the great experience so far, and maybe we should start making up decisions more, as Gromff suggested, but.... Anyway, if you change your mind please send word. Take care guys!

According to the rules, since it's a "rage power" I only benefit from the extra haling if it happens during the rage, which was only during combat, so no extra healing this time, I guess.

"Thanks." Roland appreciates the healing, but it's far from enough to bring him to full health. According to GM calculations I should be at 60/144. "I could take some more energy, if you had it."

He just overlooks the new items, since they were not actually meant to be used by them, but the hammer draws his attention for a second. He grabbed it, but it was not meant to be used as a weapon, which then lit the danger light inside his head. If they had magical stuff to create weapons, something bad was about to happen.

Of course, the bad presented itself when they turned a corner and came up on a familiar cave, filled with god knew how many oversized matches. His face became a little pale in surprise of what was about to happen. "Gods, how could they have been so stupid?"

Roland is clearly not in his best shape but he seems happy that everyone is still standing. Were some time ago he would have probably lost conscious due to his wounds, but today he's not the beginner they once were. He sits down for a bit to catch his breath and remember what just happened.

Talking about surrender was so stupid Roland got even more enraged. "Surrender in hell!" The barbarian was not replying to the creature, but actually Crys when he mentioned the monster should surrender! After all, D.P. was coming and going, pancaking the enemy as it has always done before, and a storm of attacks was coming from the others, so how in hell would anyone give the poor creature time to surrender? It was kill or be killed, and this combat had caused the large man quite a few bruises already. Time to finish it off.

K.Planes: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Why the hell would the barbarian care about what that creature was? He only needed to know that it existed and that it was an enemy, that's all. And of course, he had more pressing subjects to address, like the freaking little Azerbarian who was trying to annihilate the party. He charged the little loser heads one, seeking to show him who was the real barbarian here.

From his current position he saw the wizard - always the wizard - in trouble. Even thought he was completely focused on destroying the enemies, he let his mind drift for a second, wondering how the heavens the girl managed to get so screwed in such a short time. While his mind drifted, his body was moving, empowered by some heavenly force that he never actually questioned, and he leaped the pool back to stand beside the monster. At least now it wouldn't be so easy to take the girl down the lava, or ash, or whatever red room of pain that was.

Understood boss!

Who did this creature thought he were? There was NO escaping the barbarian, and Roland showed that by immediately catching up to the fleeing enemy, even if that meant being hit another couple of times. 2 AoOs against the barbarian! Don't know if the cloud makes any difference.

Roland wondered for just a second if moving after them was really a good idea. Of course it was! He had several flaming targets to strike! After a hard day on the road some exercise would be pleasant, of course. And tey were definitely evil, since they attacked him on sight. "What a lack of manners."

He didn't need to rush at the enemy, tough. Seeing as that spear was thrown over the stadium he could simply wait, both for his companions to arrive and for the enemies to get closer.

Delay

Roland shakes his head. "Obviously we didn't walk her whole Den. There must be a lot more to explore. Anyway, either that's a trap or some luck on our side. We should take the chance to approach without being noticed." He starts moving stealthily, which is not his forte, but perhaps the noise will conceal them for the time being. "That includes stopping making so much noise, dwarf." He looks at the older-in-the-party dwarf.

Taking 10 in stealth I get 22.

Roland nodden when Chiro offered a warm fire. He thought that the light would not make much difference in here, specially since the caves where the dragon was were dim with the lava. So they could have some comfort, hell yeah. His fabulous cloak looked even better in the flickering light of the fire.

When Crys boasted about his ring he recalled Gromff also had one, and felt a little empty. He had only one ring. Maybe the queen had a nice one to make his day brighter?

Today
"You mean you can see in the dark?" He raised an eyebrown to the wizard, obviously questioning her way of putting that problem on their shoulders. "And really, we're going to a place of molten rock, or have you forgotten about it? Unless you think we can get into their lair without being noticed, I don't think that will do much good, but that's none of my business." He was probably just teasing the wizard anyway. "Are we trying the direct approach or something different?"

Well, I'm having a blast on this game since the beginning. I just feel sorry for our missing companions, but nothing lasts forever, and thanks to that we have the opportunity to get to know two new ones and have more memorable moments.

I never understood why Gromff didn't feel like chasing those lines regarding his home town and his clone, but Roland usually just goes with the flow. Playing the barbarian is the easiest, I guess. As I've read Eragon a long time ago I was kinda hoping we could enter the dwarf city, but nobody cared about them ^_^

I'm just sorry I can't help make the game fast as it once was at this time, but in a month everything will be in order, hopefully. Then I'm gonna be on vacation, and things will look promising.

I don't think you should try to scry on the dragon once again. It will just allow her to know we are looking for her, other than some minor passing curiosity.

Roland never stopped to wonder about the melted lava on the ground. Where there was fire, there were devils, and that was it. "No idea. Underground there are rivers of lava in the dragon's den. Without magic we would be screwed."

"I guess the first ones came after us, sent by the prince, then. The others were sent either by him or the Queen, later on. To what purpose I don't know, tough." He grabs everything and puts in the loot backpack. Did you note them down Gromff?

"I guess we might get this over with then. Head after the prince?"

I'm gone for a few days and you manage to kill a party member? Evil gm! Two weeks to go on the house.

Roland did not care what target they chose, as long as he had the pleasure of meeting it heads on. So the Queen would be it. Good as any, but he was a little disappointed to face only her, and not all of the local legends before her. Anyway, they had a job to do. And it seemed to be getting weirder and weirder. "Well, it seems obvious that if the Queen noticed the girl's spell she will be expecting people from the city coming after her. These guys might have been sent by her to intercept us. Or maybe they were sent by the prince after us." He looks at the bodies, trying to picture something.
Heal: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13 I would like to know how long have they been dead, if that's possible with Heal or any other skill.

"When did these guys died? And also, can the golems slice that bottle open like we are seeing?"

"And how the heck do you know which golem is which?"

Roland also takes a look at the fine weapon laying around, handling it to the wizard for inspection. He searches the body for anything they might offer, regarding documents or loot. Take 10 for 23 total.

Can we see the back of the cave close by gm?

Roland had already shared everything he learned during his builder's days, which was not much, by the way. "Is JubJub a nickname or something? It sounds so pathetic. I think depending on our schedule we could go after one of this other trophies, or all of them, once we're finished with the queen. If we're gonna have time, maybe we could go after all of them, and then hit the Queen?"

I think we need to decide who are we targeting. Maybe the queen is out of our league guys. After all, a dragon in its territory is much more dangerous than out of it. I think we can handle. You? She promised to take revenge upon the city, so in case we don't aim for her there's always the possibility of waiting for that moment.

The barbarian waited until Gromff's little fireworks show was over to notice where they actually were. "But wait. Why should we wait?" He looked at the outside, where the storm was raging, then towards the inside of the cave. "Where did this loser come from? Shouldn't we take a look?"

Barbarians are so adorable when I'm not the GM ^_^

After delivering all he could to the poor creature Roland seemed disappointed. He was hoping this time he would be more like a challenge to the group, but it seemed like a slaughter. After those devastating hits he was sure there was no need to check if the heartless creature was still alive. After all, even if it were alive without its heart, it couldn't stand a chance against the party. He took a deep breath, not even feeling tired as after the usual battle, and started to investigate the scene with the others. He raised the head of the ogre to look at its now dead figure. "I guess he's not strong enough to be used as a prize on the Hunt, is he?"

Hearing Chiro's request, he turns to the dwarf. "Get it out of where? Why do you want to move it? We're not in a hurry to face our target, I guess. We can sit down and wait for the storm to pass. Weird things happen when it rains." He points to a spot where there was a big bleeding wound caused by the hellhounds. "Just this, actually. I don't think it's contagious, is it?" 15 hp down.

The large human finds the idea of having a dwarf-skin pouch too nice to pass, for some reason. He took it to store his leftover money, after checking it was not magical.

I favor waiting for the rain to pass.

Roland summoned the power of the ring to improve his footing, standing in an Accurate Stance so he could hit the enemies better. Unfortunately the doggies had been taken care of already, so all it was left was for Roland to be the chivalrous brave knight he was born to be, saving the screwed teenager damsel in distress from the clutches of the evil undying monster. Moving like the wind, the knight and his fabulous cloak darted towards the enemy, pushing his way between his allies and pillars of stone to prevent the soon-to-be-dead-devil from latching onto him. Of course, he was distracted by the wish to move at once at the freaking Ogre, but he had 9 more heads to worry about at the moment, which he was having a tough time hitting, it would seem. He needed to change his strategy a little in a second. He kept trying to hit the cold one, and would change his aim to the fire one as soon as Coldy was dead.

Oh he wanted so bad to teach doggie a lesson, and in her instead these minor Cerberus would suffice, but that wailing was freaking pissing him off. He felt encourage through Cry's spell, easing some of his discomfort. Of course he noticed the cerberi's challenging look, and it was more than he needed to focus his anger on this material target, since the other one was not yet in sight.

Before reaching his target a beam of fire and blood passed him, and exploded sending some love to one of the beasts, at least, since one was probably used to fire. All the better, he focused his anger and aimed at the frosty one, seeking to end it before the monster would try something funny. "Your wish is my command doggy!"

He move like the daylight that came from the enraged barbarian, and send his mighty D.P. with all power towards his the poor Cerberi.

Attack 1: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (9) + 19 = 28 Damage: 2d6 + 28 ⇒ (2, 4) + 28 = 34

Rage 1/23 used. Daylight Active. Sickened. Good Hope 01/xx HP 18+144. AC 21. CMD 27. I know waiting for them to come would be a better move, but Roland cannot stand a challenge, sorry.

I was looking over the old posts for fun and noticed that you guys never actually killed the ogre in that battle scene. You knocked him unconscious but took no further actions to ensure his death. I thought it might be fun to bring back an old name.

Oh, common, Megaman's enemies are never too mighty after they were defeated for the first time... Bring him on strong enough and we might not even need to go after the queen! I'm still wearing his gloves, btw.

@Roland

You mixed up Crys and Chiro on your narrative, I think. xD

Told you I'm not on my best days... The first part was supposed to be Crys' arrival, not Chiro, sorry.

Roland patiently waits for the whole story to be unfold, but when the story is over he raises a finger. "Oh yes, I have one!" But he turns to Chiro instead of the wizard. "We really don't mind, but who is chasing you, and why?"

He turns to the others, to see if they noticed how nice this could turn out to be.

Chiro's arrival
"Name's Roland." He swiftly scrutinized the newcomer, and something in him made the barbarian remember Tess, wherever she were with the little fire elemental. Anyway, it was good to have an extra pair of hands in this mission. After all, it would be pretty damn hot where they were going. They hadn't been 5 for quite a while now, and Roland was asking himself if there was anyone else that would like to join them among so many groups. It would be better not to push it. "Pleased to make your acquaintance."

Veronica's call
The barbarian was a little startled when she told them there were more important business to attend to in the city. What in hell's name would be more important? He couldn't find an answer, but she wasn't asking for their permission either. He didn't know who would try to keep him alive now, but well, maybe he was not supposed to be alive anymore, so... "Don't worry, I have the feeling we will meet again. See you after the hunt." Back to 4, they were. What a messed up world.

Actual Hunt
Roland was completely focused on the task at hand. Hunting a Dragon Queen. A very freaking powerful one, you should say. He wasn't sure if it was for the better of for the worse that they were facing her in her own Den, but outside she would have the advantage of flying - against the others - and that was something they needed to counter. Anyway, let the games begin!

Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21
Outside the gates the barbarian was keeping a look out for anything suspicious, but if he had already noticed the dwarf, it was hard to say. He didn't get startled, though. When the little girl tapped him on the should he scratched it immediately after, and you may have noticed something that made the newcomer remember Gromlgor, keen as he was on his senses. Of course, the big man did not have hellish skin, nor the size of the ogre, but he appeared to be strong as hell, scarred as a sword training dummy, but perhaps what drew your attention most was that he was wearing the same gloves as the Ogre.
"It will be my turn to do the talking when it's your turn to order me around. And I wouldn't call if crafting, but more of some sewing, really. And I'm gonna save their power for our royal prize." Although he was not going to do the talking, he turned to the new dwarf and asked him. "You are not taking part in the hunt. Who the hell are you?"

Impossible for me to do the talking guys, I have zero time to post (needed to be sleeping now).

Gods, I have a long time ago. I still remember being pissed off by a movie for the first time!

But that's a great one, although the original name is better: Le Pacte des loups! Which is, by the way, the same name they used in Brazil.

I saw about the beacons guys, but they will help us transport the body, and not carry it alone. Plus, it is huge, and we will be underground. Plus, the little baby of the mommy probably won't let us carry the body easily.

Roland was sure one day they would be screwed because of these rings, but he hoped that today was a different matter. He could not tell exactly what they were doing from afar, but Catcher was probably just getting into trouble. The human was wearing a blue-scaled breastplate (which by the way seemed like a perfect fit on his figure) but not much else regarding armor, just wearing what's left of a shirt under it and some old heavy trousers. Completely not matching the sets were some nice gloves and a brand-new dark gray cloak, which seemed somehow weird on his shoulders. There were a couple of weapons on him, and a lot of scars, one could notice.

He kept an eye on Catcher's small-and-strong-yet-tender-and-yammi figure, waiting for the moment he would have some fun and a decent fight. It was meant to be. The wizard opened her mouth. Trouble would soon find them.

Would you guys object to buying us a few horses to get us a few steps ahead of the rest? We can leave them as soon as we hit the caves.

Sorry for letting you down Cat, it's just you know I'm really busy. I'll try harder.

My survival is only +7, but I hope our previous knowledge about her can guide us to the cave. My main concern is about the protection we're gonna have when fighting her.

Roland dos partake in some training with the wizard, since it would be probably better than carrying out rocks and pulling ropes. The problem is, he cannot fight seriously against the wizard, always going easy on his strokes. After all, a well place hit from his hammer could flatten up some legends, least to say a frail looking old woman teenage girl. But he helped her improve her movements and such. Withstanding a full D.P. swing without an adamantium shield was probably not a good idea.

Later, on the day of the hunt, Roland was kinda anxious and a little bit uncertain about that idea. Going hunting was never his forte. He'd rather wait for problem to show itself, and then deal with it, but active search would be needed now. "Let's kill ourselves a Queen, then. We can do that or choose the wilds, which may lead to nothing interesting. Good thing is, she's certainly the strongest thing we're gonna find around, so if we come out of it alive, the spear is ours. Have you got the fire protection at the ready? As soon as the gates open we need to rush to Sheeny and Glossy, otherwise some stupid moron might try to kill them and carry them as the prize. Specially that guy who's staring at us. Should we buy some horses for that?"

How are we gonna carry the body, in case after we defeat her?

Nice! Well, I usually use the character profile in the discussion as well, to avoid having to think who is who, but we don't have much of a rule about that.

Thinking about it, we're in the middle of nowhere, in a xenophobic city where most are humans and there are no dwarves at all. Crys can be in the city, but Chiro is a different matter. Maybe we will find each other outside, in the hunt?

Roland was certain that magic gone wrong was related to the armor and that Scythe. Apparently there was nothing actually bad about her hair, except for the part in which she went from a 16 year old girl to a thirty something woman in that white hair. It was weird, to say the least. He was thinking about the problems that may rise, but the wizard interrupted him. "I am preparing. I'm gathering a lot of information here. There's not much to train against in this city, and we would be better hiding our strength. Otherwise these guys are gonna go all in against us. Do what you can with that money."

"And have you heard anything that might help us? We need to see what Gromff and Veronica learned as well. Let's go." He started walking towards the Inn and Sage's guild, where Gromff should be. "I still don't have a good target on the wilds, aside from the Queen. No one knows about the Prince, and the other dangers of the wild are uncertain. So either we try our luck with the Queen, which by the way was getting tribute from the city until they decided to end her, or we march the untamed lands for all good that might bring us."

Back and leveled up. Header updated. Finishing up the loot, tough.
Treasure: 34673.75 - minus 8750gp on the cloak (I'll take care of the extra Cat, I don't wanna owe you a favor godmother...), 1500 on the armor upgrade and 6k on the gloves upgrade. That leaves me with 18423 gp to spend. If no one needs to borrow money I'm gonna look for a Belt of Mighty constitution +4 or a belt of physical might +2. Are they available GM? Otherwise I'll save my money for a belt of stoneskin in the future.

@Newcomers Welcome guys, I hope we have a great time together!

@All good news, the worse is over and this week I'll finish buying almost everything I need to finish the house, so I'll have more time to sit and relax.

Let's go with the cloak. I wanna look like a knight.

I don't know what more I could ask for, the armor should be fine, or a belt of constitution, anything would be fine.

That aside, I'm really having trouble catching up these days since I arrive home exhausted from working on the house (yes, I'm helping build it - from habitat for humanity experience ^_^). So please forgive me for delaying the game, I'll keep trying my best keep playing every day, but this week is being hard.
