Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Perhaps fulfilling Father Isaak's statement about orcs being prone to ransacking, Roh-Kai is still focused on trying to force his way through the grate.

Strength Check:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Roh-Kai inspects the metal grate in an attempt to determine how strong it is and whether the group could move past it.

Perception:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

"It's just a tunnel. Nothing really to see."

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Roh-kai gives one firm tug on the rope.

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Then it's settled. I'll go down and see what I can and signal back to you by tugging the rope. Let's say one for safe, two for assistance and three for overwhelmed. Also, I'm going to tie this off around my waist. I'd appreciate it if one of you would hold the end. I don't know how much I trust a centuries old ladder.

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

You could see further than me into the entrance because of your low light vision, but since any light source negates dark vision it would be pointless for the two of us to explore together.

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Perhaps I should go first before we alert anything to our presence with a light. A couple of days ago, I wouldn't have thought anything could still be down here after being sealed up for so long but who knows what the father has gotten us involved in...

So saying, Roh-Kai moves toward the ladder.

Father, do you have some rope in the supplies? I can take one end with me and use it to signal if I find anything.

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

If I notice the button during my investigation of where to hit the column, I would like to take that opportunity to press it rather than risking damaging my axe for no reason.

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

If the father doesn't object, Roh-Kai is going to try and break the column:

Roh-Kai taps on the column a little bit, listening to the sound of the echo. Once he's satisfied that he thinks he's found a weak-spot (If there is a roll that will help, I'll take it. If not roleplaying is fun too) Roh-Kai lines his axe up and makes a swing.

Attack Roll:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Damage Roll:1d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

"Well, if it's hollow maybe there's something inside it. We should check."

Roh-Kai walks over to the column, carrying his axe.

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Now that the danger of the Fey is gone, some of Roh-Kai's arrogant aloofness has returned.
"It seems unlikely that the tomb builders would trap their own camp. You should be more worried about one of columns collapsing on you in the night."

Roh-Kai casts his gaze about for a spot that would block his frame from view of anyone stumbling upon the camp without posing a risk of the same fate he taunted Xenarchy with.

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

HP: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

@DM: We have already talked about me using the executioner ability instead of the bravery ability. Before I finalized this decision I wanted to make sure you were okay using the massive damage optional rule:

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook, Page 189 wrote:

Massive Damage(Optional Rule)

If you ever sustain a single attack that deals an amount of damage equal to half your total hit points (minimum 50 points of damage) or more and it doesn't kill you outright, you must make a DC 15 Fortitude Save. If this saving throw fails, you die regardless of your current hit points. If you take half your total hit points or more in damage from multiple attacks, no one of which dealt more than half your current hit points (minimum 50), the massive damage rule does not apply.

It won't apply for a little while, because right now the best I could possibly do in a single attack is 42 points of damage and nothing we are facing at this level is likely to survive that anyway. However, I still wanted to make sure you were okay using it.

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

"Perhaps the creature simply wishes for a proper burial"

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

"It appears we have found the creature's head

Roh-Kai cautiously looks into the stump to see if there are any non-magical threats
Perception check:1d20 ⇒ 13
If he doesn't see any, he will reach into the stump and attempt to retrieve the white thing.

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

"I think we are meant to track down the head. And now that we have disturbed the corpse, the spirit may consider us responsible for doing so. However, without another one of the enchantress's visions, I doubt any of us would know where to look."

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Roh-Kai jumps backwards when the creature dissolves, obviously freaked out by the result of his blow.
"Did someone say that thing would be coming back?"

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Then I suppose I should save the father from himself.
Roh-Kai charges forward, awe drawn, attempting to put down the freakish monstrosity before him.
Attack roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Damage roll:1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Edit:Roll to confirm:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Edit: Edit: total damage: 36

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Based on previous posts, how far am I from the creature?

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

You notice that Roh-Kai still hasn't entered the water or come any closer to the spot that Xenarchy indicated.
"Ill have no part of this. We shouldn't be messing with things we have no buisness with. Ghosts and visions and hauntings...I'll have no part of this.

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

"You hired me to protect you. I protected you from the spiders, and buck protected you from the boars. But this is different. You are asking me to protect you from something I can't see, can't touch, and can't kill. If these ghosts do turn out to be dangerous, I can't guarantee you safety. Now I understand the same could end up applying at the ruin, but at least that's what we came here for. Why go poking around in something that doesn't concern us? I can't guarantee you the spirits haunting this place won't follow us if we leave, but I feel it's probably a lot less likely than if we stay."

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

"What has this matter to deal with your research, father? You are proposing that we study something we do not understand that has the possibility of becoming very dangerous, and possibly lethal? Let us continue on and hope these spirits do not disturb us."

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

More mind games. This isn't what I signed up for
Roh-Kai readies his double axe and scans the area for any threat.

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

"My clansmen would normally push though the night. But since you are unaccustomed to such a life we should make camp. I agree that should we wait here, we risk attack. But if we continue forward we risk encountering new threats. Either way we will need a guard."

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

"Well, priest, I can tell you where you won't find your tomb. Right here. So I suggest we resume looking for it elsewhere."

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

"I don't mind spiders; that's standard guard duty. But I don't like this talk of premonitions and oracles. Father, lets find your ruin as fast as possible and be done with this."

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Roh-Kai attempts to dispatch the last remaining spider.
Attack roll using both ends of the axe:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 201d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Damage rolls1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 111d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Hefting his double axe, Roh-Kai attempts to plunge the head into the spider. Single attack1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 211d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Seeing the death throes of the now lifeless spider, Roh-Kai moves to help the floundering oracle. Move to H9

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

How big are the spiders? Giant spiders come in quite a lot of sizes these days.

Roh-Kai draws his axe and turns to face the spider.
Attack Rolls1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 171d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Damage Rolls1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 101d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

As the spider's fangs sink into his flesh, Roh-Kai lets out a resounding roar. The sound could come from pain, but his face shows only rage that such a creature would dare harm him.
Initiative Roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Perception check1d20 ⇒ 5

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

In that case I will draw my axe and move to E8 instead. (I'm not seeing how I would be able to attack this turn because I can't reach the boars even with a double move.)

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Move to D-12 while drawing my double axe.

i don't know if you can draw, move, and attack in the same turn without the QuickDraw feat, vuk.

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Highest group of initiative rolls I have ever seen a party get.

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Initiative check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Not really. Right now Roh Kai is being the silent body guard. Since nothing is really going against his superstitions he's willing to just let the priest do what he wants.

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Even with a nat 1, Garesh's result and mine average out to more than 10, so we are fine, right?

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

"That seems like appropriate justice for your wound. I agree that we move on.

Strength check to row:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

How far away is the canoe near the shore?

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Perception check (DC 8)1d20 ⇒ 4

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Roh-Kai sighs and starts looking for wood that would be appropriate for an oar.

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

"I'm sick of talking about what thievery or deceit we are going to use. I'm doing things my way.

Roh-Kai starts walking in the direction of the pirate camp.

He isn't walking all that fast, nor has he drawn any of his weapons.

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Well, most boats have a locking mechanism so that the oars stay put even if you let go of them, but I figured that you needed a hook of some kind to get us to fight pirates.

It's been too long since I've been in a good fight and I'm curious to see if I can trust you to watch my back in a fight. Taking out a band of drunken pirates sounds like a solution to both problems.

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Have we? Is it just to sneak up through the water and burn the boats?

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

"You want get far in life as a coward, father. There's a difference between caution, which is required for survival, and having no spine. These men need to pay for what they've done with the loss of more than a dock."

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

I don't think you would survive on your own. I can fire over the wall at random, but you shouldn't expect me to hit anyone or to not hit you. Either way, you would be almost entirely without support if they saw you and for us to hide in the trees would put us too far away to save you.

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

"Garesh suggested using his oil and his create fire to burn the boats. Whatever our plan is, starting at night is probably our best bet. They are most likely going to have a guard posted who won't let us just sneak in, but we can catch some of them sleeping.

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

You forget, father, that we can't just row right past them. We are in need of oars, the whole reason we approached the camp in the first place.
As for tactics, we could sit at the edge of the forest and attempt to take out the guards with our crossbows. If we can get them to send out a group to deal with us then we could either begin to take them out in smaller numbers or even get a few hostages.

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Maybe if a few more of us went, or we shot back, we could get their interest...

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

"Sounds like there are too many for an assault. We may need to try and lead groups away and take them out a little at a time, or perhaps try and sneak in at night. From the sound of it, we won't be making more progress without dealing with these men and, even if we could, I would not care to let those who had fired upon us off so easily. Does anyone have a plan?"

Male Orc Fighter/2 [HP 23/23; AC: 17/15/12; Init +4; F+6, R+2, W+0; Perc +1]

Roh-Kai openly guffaws at Xenarchy's comment about orc women. "Our clan has a single female shaman who is deeply respected for her wisdom and counsel to the war chief. Other than that, our females have only the status of their mate and an unmated female of our kind has only the status of her father. We do not allow our females to take professions or even leave their own hold without their mate. Other clans are different, I have heard. Of course, there is clan bloody axe and their half-blood b****,"Roh-Kai spits on the ground in disgust"but those worms do not deserve to be called orcs."
