I have had a blast trying this out, and I am looking forward to trying an Inquisitor (and maybe an Alchemist).
Inquisitor might be a good way to try a spellcaster if you haven't, and other than that you can benefit from teamwork feats that you take - whether the rest of the party takes them or not! Thanks to the Solo Tactics class ability.
Another one I am looking forward to trying is the Vivisectionist Alchemist Archtype from Ultimate Magic - and I also want him to be a non-lethal expert. This way you get ways to buff yourself and sneak attack damage.
Just food for thought!

Jay the Madman wrote: It's not really a feat. But my favorite method of dealing with that situation (as a caster). Is to use a free action and ask my barbarian friend to kill the guy who stepped up. The barbarian is a caster's best friend.
You can also insert a fighter or ranger or whatever into that role. In my game right now, it's a barbarian.
Stop, drop, shut 'em down open up shop!

And what about the "stepping out" feat?
And "Stop, drop, shut 'em down open up shop?!"

Cheesy? Yes.
Illegal? I don't think so.
Would I allow it? No.
Right -- I understand the RAW...it's the point that an heirloom lucerne hammer has been passed down from generation to generation of non-intelligent apes????
Honestly, I would love to see at least that trait, if not all traits, should be disallowed for animal companions, but that's just my two copper. But he is an animal companion... He is roughly a member of the family, so you passed down your grandfathers lucerne hammer because you are a druid and will not use metal weapons ;)

Between Orc and DD Str bonuses, you'll be decent in melee, and you can use any high level slots that you can't cast due to low cha for lower level self buff spells. With the Orc subtype from the bloodline, you qualify for deathless feats regardless of your actual race. For something really different, you could go gnome for the con/cha boost.
It will take a long time to get decent though if you are starting at level 1. +1To This The good news is that we each will have a little pool of pre-made characters that advance as our current character advances, so that when our character falls prey to Rappan Athuk... well, we find a survivor of another party that was nearly wiped! WOW!
Thanks for that idea as well.
The Golux wrote: How does harrow xard building work? Check out Wayfinder #5, but you will need a harrow deck/deck of cards and the list of their meanings, because by following the directions you determine the characters ability scores, alignment, and rough backstory (to customize as you feel appropriate.)
Imbicatus wrote: Even if Scarred Witch doctor was legal, it's not PFS legal for Half-elves or half-orcs to take Elf / Human / Orc only archtypes. Thanks for all the input, because for whatever reason, I just wanted to build a spellcaster with that. I really like the life-link idea, so that the wariors or an eidelon could just keep on fighting! That would be awesome! Totally forgot about that spell - I usually am the martial types. More often than not - Barbarian...
Good news is that it is for a home campaign, so all we will have to do is get the DM to buy off on Scarred Witch Doctor. I will look into that more.
So a few friends and I were experimenting with harrow card building for our Rappan Athuck dungeon campaign and one of my friends our characters to choose from has stats that look about like (because I do not exactly remember):
STR 10
DEX 11
CON 18
INT 12
WIS 12
CHA 11
Now my first reaction is to build another aasimar cleric with this character (if I were to trade one of my stat blocks) but I wanted to see what other ideas come to mind, because I also think this could make a few roles - maybe a trap breaker barbarian... Or vivisectionist alchemist.
Let's see what the general consensus is.

Father Dale wrote: A little off topic,
but I remember being in a campaign where our party kept stumbling upon Potions of Bless Weapon. Again and again, we'd find these potions.
We kept wandering who was this mysterious Paladin with the Brew Potion feat, and what happened to him to make him leave his potions all over the place.
There was no answer really, it was just some odd random treasure results...
Something very off topic, but from this and earlier the "chances of finding a Paladin that has Craft Wand vs finding a Cleric that has Craft Wand would be much more difficult. Yes, I'm sure there is a paladin that has it, but for ever paladin that has craft wand, there's probably 100 clerics that have it."
I could not help but think of the scene from the movie: The Other Guys, where they are teasing Will Farrel's character and thinking: whoever this mystery paladin who is brewing potions and crafting wands, and undoubtedly, scribing scrolls, is definitely the "Paper b!-ch!!"
Hope this is good for a laugh...
Nice troll, but I meant the out of the ordinary weapons in the martial and simple categories. Butterfly swords, cestus, etc. I just never bothered to ask i guess.
I also totally overlooked quarterstaff as a monk weapon... for about a decade... But since I already just had my warped view fixed. Oh well.
But I was basing that on the assumption that they also were not able to use monk weapons. For some reason, even after playing for a decade, I still was questioning that...
Glad I don't have to do that anymore!!!
Rynjin wrote: What's funny about this is that it means the Unarmed Fighter has more Monk weapon proficiencies than the Monk does. Thank you for that clarification. I have questioned that for waaay too long.
And yeah, I actually was thinking about that the other day and realized the unarmed fighter had a broader arsenal. Each class has it's pluses and minuses.
One question that keeps popping up in my mind is: can anyone use monk weapons?
For example: the brass knuckle is a simple weapon, so does that mean anyone proficient in simple weapons can use it?
Another example: The monk's spade is a martial weapon, so can anyone proficient in martial weapons use it?
A simple misunderstanding, and clarification would help. Thanks.
