FYI, I'm flying out to Phoenix early in the morning. I won't likely be on email again (or checking boards) until after midnight Toronto time. I'll be there all week and be on when I can.

If I miss something critical, please just GM me to do the "right thing".

No worries take your time. I realize the point buy is quite a bit lower, so it will be a bit tougher to get the "ideal" character. You'll have to make a few trade offs here and there. We'll see how its going. If everyone's finding it too tough to put together the character they want I might up the point buy to 350 or so.

Well, I was able to make up Hoss with 300 points (playing on the "he's old and slowing down") but certainly another 50 would let me flesh out my skills a bit better.

I am still chuckling over Leo Getz; hehe ; does he even look like the guy and have the personality from Lethal Weapon?

That's certainly where I got the name. Back in my 2e days, Leo was my decker. He was very much a "stay behind and ride the matrix" kinda guy. His interesting background (the original) was that he had a simsense star (BB Basf) as a contact that (with his low Cha) we used to joke was his girlfriend. The GM said "roll percentile" and if it was a 99 or 100 she was his girlfriend... I rolled a 99. Then he said if I roll 100 then I'm a "kept man"... I rolled 00.. :) Leo Getz was his "alter ego" when he ran the shadows... but when he left the run, it was often to a luxury lifestyle away from the others... :) Of course, everyone thought he was being "kept" however he was very good at Shadowrunning and became quite wealthy in his own right...

Now, I'm not assuming this is the same Leo Getz here... and if it is, he's likely had a "falling out".

Therefore, Ken you are more than welcome to play Getz, but if you would rather play Hoss let me know, and I can have a NPC Hacker working at ECI that you guys can contact to dig up info off the net when/if you need it.

Hmmm... Let me think on it today while I'm at work and I'll post tonight. I see what you're getting at and if it's not going to hurt the party to not have a hacker among them, then I might switch to Hoss... I'll put together his background today/night and post it. I'll have to see if I can effectively do his concept though with the points available... :)

Ok… Here are my thoughts. It’s based on an older character I used to have…

Leo Getz: Leo is a hacker… he’s always been good with computers but who isn’t now a days… but his abilities were something more. From as soon as he could login he was surfing for information. Leo’s gift was gathering info…always had been. As much as he admired the “Shadowrunners” out there, he’d always love the hunt for info more. He still sometimes dreams of “going rogue” and doing data steals in the big leagues, but for now he’s perfectly content to have his job at ECI where he can hunt for data on that edge of legitimacy and afford a decent life. He doesn’t have a lot of skills offline, but he’s one of the top in ECI to dig up the electronic dirt.

The other idea I’d love to play is around another old character of mine… Hoss. I can give you more info if the party needs him but he’s an Former Company Man style who’s better in a fight than people expect (he’s a bit fat and older now) but closer to the “hard boiled type” that the others are going for so I don’t know as the party would need him.

I’d also be up for playing some “muscle” like an ork or a troll who deals with “other” ways of gathering info…

Basically I’ll play whatever the party needs.

I had been thinking of an uncybered gumshoe, but I'm happy to play a decker type to give us some tech investigation abilities. I could recreate my old 1e character... :)

I'm in! (I'm Drew's cousin). I guess the only question I have is how frequent are you expecting the posts? (if it was in the above I might ahve missed it)
