Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Not a problem. Sorry to see this game go though. Really enjoyed it and Thanks for running it!

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo squints and says as he pulls back from the ridgeline out of view of the Fort. "I do believe you're right. And if that's the case then Griff is a fool. Sera, do you or Tess think you could collect our potential ally under the cover of darkness. If Griff's band is all human I doubt any of them have any night vision that comes close to the three of you." Rizzo sounds slightly envious of the elves' superior senses.

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Damn, we've been spotted. Rizzo thinks. "You're right Sera, we shouldn't have a straight up fight at all." He looks around for Tess but doesn't see the sneaky elf. "Tess, I hope you're out there somewhere, but we're going to drop back a bit so we're not exposed. Keep watching the Fort and Keep safe and see what that sentry does. If they ride out in force, join us and we'll lead them on a merry chase. If not we'll try to use darkness to approach from a different direction."

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

I think it is wonderful that you are thinking of publishing and will do anything you wish to help you along.

Falcon Strike.
Probably a bit too good. With ranged your Dex determines hit and your Str (sometimes!) damage. Someone could just maximize their Strength and with this feat close to double their damage output. To be honest I think the designers intended the Vital Strike chain to cover this type of action.

Helm Crusher.
This seems to be essentially a maneuver combined with a melee attack. Maybe as a full round action you can take a -2 on your roll to hit and then get an additional roll for your CMB -2 versus their CMD or knock them offbalance so that they are at -2 AC. Just my two cents, I don't think the feat as written is particularly unbalancing.

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo gratefully accepts the CLW potions. He turns to Tess, Sera and Caelin. "I'd like to keep one for myself, being as I think I'm going to up front in any fighting. Who wants the other two?"

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

"Sergeant, I think they and their families would like that. Also, Tomm's dogs might be still about, and I think he would want them cared for. While your men deal with the rock, I request permission to search the area and see if I can find them." While starting to head out to look for the dogs he notices Tessara sitting down. Concerned, Rizzo goes up to Tessara and sits down nearby. Not sure what to say he merely asks. "Anything I can do to help?"

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo grasps Connor's hand. "Pleased to meet you. I'm Rizzo de Canal, and I suspect we'll need as much help as you can give us." He looks back to his companions for confirmation. "But first, let's deal with the meteorite." He walks over to Tess, Sera and Caelin. "Are you alright? I'm sorry I let that bastard and his goons take me so easily. I'm not sure what we should do next, but here's what I'd like to do. Load the mereorite. Put Tomm and Berion's bodies where the mereorite lay and then collapse the sides. It would make a fitting grave, since they died defending it. We escort the meteorite back to Hemriden like we promised. Then Conner here and Gil will show us where this ruined fort is and we make Griff pay."

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo wearily climbs to his feet, thanking the soldier that has freed him. He checks his friends first. "I'm going to make sure the King gets his damn rock. But afterwards Tomm and Berion demand vengence. Griff needs to die."

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Once Rizzo wakes up he slowly tries to work his way free of his bonds, trying to pretend like he is still badly hurt (he is so it isn't much of an act). No speeches, he really is trying to lull them into thinking he is unconscious.

Taking long enough to take 20 on escape artist, giving him a 22 skill check, Only adds +2

Bluff: 1d20 ⇒ 13

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Is Rizzo conscious at this point?

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

I'd say additional players. Let them know that there seems to be a need for some more melee types.

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Well darn it!

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Hey, I'll take whatever healing you got!:)
"Thanks" Rizzo gratefully says. He suppresses the urge to charge the bastard that shot him. If he does, he realizes he'll leave his companions open to a melee assualt. Instead he nimbly scrambles up the side of the crater so that he blocks anyone from getting to his friends. As he does so he draws a javelin and tosses it at one of the thugs.

Move action to move to F11 and draw javelin since BAB+1. Standard action throw at thug at B12

Attack Thug: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Almost certainly a miss :(

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo grunts in pain. This is just my week for getting shot he thinks.

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo draws his sword. "I can tell you what we're not. We're not afraid of trumped up ruffians like you. So scamper off with your tail between your legs like the mangy b&~#*es you are."
Intimidate: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Thanks Seraphyna! Rizzo feels much better now.
Rizzo smiles at Seraphyna's exposition and watches the newcomers.
Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 20

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Have we had any more healing since the last fight? I think we may be getting into another one soon. I'm assuming this is probably a group from Ardivandria.

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Yes, those are fair.

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

K/Local: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Rizzo sizes up the newcomers as he emerges from the trench he has been digging, checking that none of the newcomers have a lightning bolt pin. "It is indeed a wonderful event. Quite a auspicious omen for King Theodoric, into whose lands it has fallen." He punctuates the authority of the King by thunking his shovel into the ground. He smiles warily at the newcomers. "I am Rizzo de Canal. Who do I have the pleasure of addressing?"

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

I'm still here also. Ready to go.

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo is more than happy to take a digging shift for any of the party that don't feel like digging. Up to a point. (Basically, just the girls.)

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo grabs Gilbert to help him in a project (Mainly to stop the man from boring them to tears). He wants to dig a trench in the crater that the wagon can be backed up into. If the trench is deep enough then the meteor can just be pushed or rolled into the wagon. He gets Gilbert's take on the matter before attempting it.

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo hides in the woods until nightfall and keeps watch, particualarly in the direction the hobgoblin camp probably is. Once night falls he volunteers to stay up the first half of the night if someone else will take the second.

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 12
Rizzo stares at the hobgoblin trying to determine if he's lying. "Hmm. We'll see." he says as he pulls the hobgoblin off the ant hill. "Thanks Tomm" Rizzo replies as he hands the hobgoblin over to him for disposal. He defers to Tomm's expertise to setting up the camp and hiding the hobgoblins. While helping him camoflage the camp he tells the others what the hobgoblin told them. "If he was telling the truth, we probably won't see any more fobgoblins for a while, but I think its more likely that they sent someone off as soon as they saw it hit. Three hobgoblins may be pretty strong but they wouldn't be able to carry the thing, so we best be wary."

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo helps Tomm tie up the hobgoblins and drags them into the treeline, where they'll be out of sight. He sets the conscious one square on the biggest ant hill he can find, while the other two are still unconsious. "Now my friend. I'm not a cruel man, but we really need to talk and you really need to cooperate. It's the only way you're going to get out of this alive and no one will know that you have talked to us. Now tell me how far your village is and in what direction."

Intimidate: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo looks happy at the speed and ability everyone showed in taking out the hobgoblins, and frankly disgusted at his own performance. He grabs the hobgoblin and drags Krath back to near the meteorite site. "Gilbert, it occurs to me that the quickest way to bury these bodies would be to toss them into the ditch dug by the meteorite near the beginning of the impact and then just covering them with dirt. But I don't want to hamper any extraction plans or Science you plan on doing. Also, I'm not too certain that we should kill them.
I'm assuming that they are not technically dead yet. Rizzo's really not a healer.
"Interrogation may be more in order, we need to find out where their village is and how soon before any search parties might be sent out to discover what happened to them."

He smiles at Tess. "And I've never actually been shot before. You did great!" He sits down on the edge of the meteor's ditch, takes out a knife and begins to work the arrowhead out of his shoulder.

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo darts in behind Krath and swings at his legs with his longsword.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

It's not a flank, but at least this way if he flees Rizzo, he'll have to head back towards the rest of the group.

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo curses under his breath and dashes after the fleeing hobgoblin. He calls out to Krath. "To flee is the King's Justice is to acknowledge its authority over you. I thought better of the Tok-ban. I thought they were a tribe of fierce warriors. Instead they are revealed to be cowards."

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo grimaces in pain from the arrow and considers trying to leap up onto the rock, but catches sight of Tomm going down. "Tomm!" he yells as he charges with all his might at the hobgoblin, hoping to push him back from his fallen comrade.
Not actually charging or bull rushing in game, but trying to divert his attention away from Tomm so one of our healers can get him back up.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

EDIT: Well at least the rolls and bonuses are symmetric :)

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

At Krath's words, Rizzo winces at the certain knowledge he is about to get shot. "Take out Fobban first!" he yells to his allies. "Don't let them get away."

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

K/Local: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Rizzo is taken aback by the sudden appearance of Krath and his friends. He replies. "My name is Rizzo de Canal and I claim this ground and all it touches in the name of The King." His hand goes to his sword but he doesn't draw it. "The prowess of the Tok-ban is known far and wide, Krath. But this stone belongs to us."

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo runs his hands along the boulder, trying to get a feel for its weight. "It seems to have cooled down, but its still warm. It must have been fiery hot when it hit. Come on up, Gilbert and tell us what you think."

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

I'm enjoying myself. Please don't stop.

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo lets the trackers look around first but eventually his curiosity gets the better of him and he walks up to the stone. He puts his hand a few inches away from the starstone and tries to tell if its hot or not.

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo volunteers. "Have Tessara wake me up when it's my time and I'll stand watch with you, Berion."

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo looks at the five silver and can't help but start laughing. "That makes a great tip, Berion. Thank you." He turns to Walt, including Berion in the conversation. "As you may have heard, my friend here and I have been sent by King Theodoric to investigate the event. So I can offer you a choice. Either tender us a bill for your services or have the King himself owe you a favor. But you are right, we are in a hurry, so I've no patience for negotiations."

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Well, then barkeep, give me Old Walt's favorite drink and keep the change. He pays with a 2 gold coins and carries the beverages over to the tracker. "Here you go my friend. You have quite the reputation as a tracker in these here parts. My name is Rizzo and I am very interested in getting to where the star fell as quickly and safely as possible. Could you help?"

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo walks up to the bartender and asks for a drink. "So that was quite a sight." he says. "Where do you think that falling star fell?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 11
If he can use K/Local instead of Diplomacy it gives him a 14

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

I'm fine with that!

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo pauses at the gate. "Um, Brendle. Do we need some sort of letter of introduction or writ from the king? Or does Gilbert know we're coming." Truth be told, he seems leery of stepping through the gate-twisty thing. Regardless of Brendle's answer he thinks the wizard can't possibly keep this going for long and he steps through. So this must be Hemriden. he thinks.

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo takes his leave. Half and Hour! That's not much time. He quickly makes his way to the abandoned church that Marius had claimed as his abode. He quickly tells him the king was sending him on a mission and that Marius would have to find someone else to bring him his wine for a while. He hugs the old man and wishes him luck and then he runs back to the inn. Grabbing his gear he dashes back to the town square, arriving in the nick of time.

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo pipes in, excited. "I agree with Berion. It sounds like its going to be a race. I accept your task, your Highness."

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Don't forget that +8 to effective caster level :)

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo nods to the Captain. He walks up to near the table and bows to the King.

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo enjoys a fine cut of beef and more than makes up for his vegetarian companions. He then listens with rapt attention to The Telling. He had heard of Amgar, of course. He was the boogeyman, used to frighten children into good behavior. He wonders just how much of this story was fact and how much was fiction designed to frighten adults. His reverie was broken by the falling star. He leaps to his feet as it appears that it would impact close by but then relaxes and enjoys the show as it passes over the castle. As Captain Wengar makes arrangements for them to meet the King he turns to look at his companions, And finds them gone, scurrying after the star as like a dog that spied a squirrel. A little red faced he turns to the good Captain. "It appears my companions have been overcome with curiosity as to what just transpired. Surely the King would want a first hand account as to what this portends. So may I ask that our audience be delayed. I am sure that His Highness will find it worth the wait." He waits patiently for the Captain's answer. It's not like he doesn't know where they are going.

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

"Thank you Captain, a hot bath would be marvelous right now." looks over the clothes. My clothes are nice but not fit for a royal audience. Besides, the main reason I asked to wear the armor was to avoid getting my one good set of clothes muddy. "I'll also accept your offer of clothing." he adds.

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

As Tomm bear hugs Rizzo, its obvious for a second he doesn't realize what's going on, but then he just laughs and accepts the hug. "Thanks.' he replies. "I just happened to hit the happy median between Strength" he motions at Tomm. "and Quickness" he motions at Tessara.

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

Rizzo waves at the crowd. That was closer than he expected, and he enjoyed the challenge. He grabs Tessara's hand with his right hand and Tomm's hand with his left and raises them above their heads as they bask in the crowd's applause. At least until Seraphyna bowls them over.

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

GM Derek, I'm OK with you making the rolls for Rizzo to speed things up. Climb +6, STR +2, Acrobatics +6, Swim +6, DEX +2.
Climb: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
STR check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
STR check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Rizzo leaps up the wall, but has some difficulty pulling himself over it.

Male Human Fighter 1 AC 17 HP 11/11 Perception +0, Sense Motive +0

"Good. I couldn't help but notice you pretty much willed yourself to stay up til the end after that first hit. Impressive." Rizzo practices some leg squats and leaps up on a bench, checking to see how much the practice armor interferes with his movement. He asks the Marshal of the List. "If you don't mind, I'd like to wear this during the gauntlet run.
I'm assuming the Armor Check Penalty is 0
