Thanks for all the advice guys. Personally I think the single event code will make reporting easier, since it's easier to remember a single number for our chronicle sheets. Especially thanks Jon, It was nice meeting you at Anime Fest, I'm sure I'll see more of you at other Conventions in the area. :3
Both me and a friend about to be running home games with some friends. I offered to manage the book-keeping(event tracking) It appears that you can add additional "session" to a single "event" The question I'm trying to ask is thus: Should I add new "events" every week or so when we play, or should I simply add additional "session" to a single event for our home group? Taxonomy always feels like the most inconsequential thing, but when it's not per the "norm" it usually causes problems, so I'm asking here before an issue comes out of it.
Channel Smite reads as Follows:
Channel Smite (Combat)
You can channel your divine energy through a melee weapon you wield. Prerequisite: Channel energy class feature. Benefit: Before you make a melee attack roll, you can choose to spend one use of your channel energy ability as a swift action. If you channel positive energy and you hit an undead creature, that creature takes an amount of additional damage equal to the damage dealt by your channel positive energy ability. If you channel negative energy and you hit a living creature, that creature takes an amount of additional damage equal to the damage dealt by your channel negative energy ability. Your target can make a Will save, as normal, to halve this additional damage. If your attack misses, the channel energy ability is still expended with no effect. It does not explicitly say, but if you channel Positive into a smite, and hit your Living, non-dhampir friend, it will heal them for the Smite dice, correct? Trying to figure this out for a friends Society character, but it is a rules question, so I placed it here :3
While this is not "Paizo Rules" this link is what Table Top Roleplaying games are to me. These 11 "rules" is why this industry continues to grow, and what draws in new players. Specifically #'s 8 and 9: #8 The Game Master Always works with, not against, the Players.
I don't do the Chores I Have to do, why would I volunteer to waste my time on a Chore I don't have to?
What I think Patrick Harris is really trying to say, is that If they run this thing as an official Scenario, that's supposedly this awesome, world-altering event, why can't we have access to whatever box-text they used, so that we can run it with our friends in a non-PFS game, for the experience. I completely agree with him in that regard. I love the idea of con-specific boons, etc, like the 30ish goblins that are social enough for the society, but I'd love to have access to peruse what has been altering this living organized play world that I just found and fell in love with over a single weekend.
The way I see it is thus: The last of the three tenants states that you've agreed to work with the Pathfinder society, and be given a goal by a Venture-Captain, and that you'll have to deal with other pathfinders that may not follows your ideals. As a Pathfinder, you're required to get along with them and not cause problems. Assuming, of course, that you wish to continue being a Pathfinder. For the record, I just started PFS play this weekend with a convention in my area, but I've played and GM'd for over 5 years now(moving from 3.5 to PF)But, the three tenants of Pathfinder Society are things I've used in my games for years. Players can have problems, as long as it doesn't get in the way of the Society's defined rules. And I, for one, Will gladly warn a player that they're stepping over a line, give them a chance to retract the action and reword. If they don't, I'll have to ask them to leave. |
