The card armored kilt reads as followed

Recharge this card to reduce Acid, Cold, Combat, or Fire damage dealt to you by half (round up). If proficient with light armors and the damage is dealt to you before you act, you may reveal this card instead of recharging it.

An issue arose in my most recent scenario

After exploring the player encounters the card Magma spirt
The Magma Spirit is immune to the Fire trait. If the check to defeat has the Cold trait, add 1 die.

Before you act, each character at your location is dealt 1 Fire damage.

The character with light armor proficiency reveals the armor to reduce the before you act damage.

An argument started at the table

Player 1 argued that the damage delt is still 1 because it reduces it to 0.5 and rounds back up to 1

player 2 argued the damage delt is 0 because the armor reduces the amount of damage taken to 0.5 and the damage reduction rounds up to 1

Who is right?

TL;DR
Does armor kilt reduce damage delt by the bane or does it reduce damage taken from the bane?

Damiel ability states he gains the arcane and divine skill equal to his crafting skill when playing a spell that does not have the attack traits

Under what skill does he gain the arcane and divine skills?

I.E when recharging a divine spell does he roll intelligence, wisdom, or charisma?
