Thank you! So many options I never considered. Let me try to answer the questions:

@LordKailas Just being the muscle is good enough

@Scott Wilhelm All I know for campaign flavor is Victorian, Gothic Horror.
Between us, He would be manservant, muscle, and do most speaking and social dealings for her, things are strictly professional, no love interest. The lady is smart so she will handle knowledge and won't need his counsel. I'm assuming the lady will have a way to let him know her wishes in social situations (the other player hasn't specified how yet)
As far as tense sitations/combat. It will be up to him to feel out the situation, and step up if need be. I don't see him being the running type (unless she wishes for a retreat of course). Her abilities as a witch are not public knowledge, but I'm assuming during combat she will stay back and assist him.

I'm very open to things with this character, so if I have to change things around, I'm ok with that, I'm not even 100% sure about him being melee, now that I see things like Ant Haul (which I had forgot about), it opens the doors for for non strength options.

Like the subject says, I need a little help fitting into the flavor of my next game. Thanks for any advice.

So I'll be playing a protector/butler kind of character, who is hired to see to a rich noble woman (Played by another player, she's a Witch class, but at start nobody knows). So not only will I need to protect her, I'll also be carrying her gear and doing all the heavy lifting for her (damn rich people), so I can't dump strength. I'll also be the one doing the talking for her (rich nobles don't talk to mere commoners), so charisma will be needed as well. I don't really care if it's a melee, ranged, or caster build, as long as it can hold its own enough to be a protector, and still have decent Diplomacy.

My first thought was Monk, so I could fight at all times, even if without weapons or armor, but I would need to go Scaled Fist to keep charisma (Sorry, I can't go Dragon Disciple, another player just did it last game).

Also thought about Battle Oracle, but not sure if it fits the flavor, seeing I'd need a weapon and armor at all times, not sure if it would interfere with Butler time.

I know Paladin fits the strength/charisma needs the easiest, but the LG won't work in this group, so that's out without even thinking more on it.

So what do you guys think? Let's hear your ideas? Is Scaled Fist my best option, or something else? Thanks again for any help.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? If someone uses Mirror Strike, then uses Stunning Fist for the strike, would both targets have to save or be stunned?

Mirror Strike:You briefly alter the flow of time to split a melee attack into two attacks. Before the end of your next turn, when you make your next melee attack roll, compare the result to the AC of two opponents within your reach. If the selected opponents are flanking you, you gain a +2 bonus on your attack roll (and confirmation attack roll, see below). If you hit both enemies, you can deal half damage to each. Hitting only one opponent allows you to deal that opponent normal damage for your attack. On a critical threat, you can make only one attack roll to confirm the critical hit against both opponents. If you confirm against both, you deal half your critical hit damage to each. Your hit is a normal hit rather than a critical if you confirm against only one opponent. If you fail to use the effect before the end of your next turn, the spell ends.

Stunning Fist: You must declare that you are using this feat before you make your attack roll (thus, a failed attack roll ruins the attempt). Stunning Fist forces a foe damaged by your unarmed attack to make a Fortitude saving throw (DC 10 + 1/2 your character level + your Wis modifier), in addition to dealing damage normally. A defender who fails this saving throw is stunned for 1 round (until just before your next turn). A stunned character drops everything held, can’t take actions, loses any Dexterity bonus to AC, and takes a –2 penalty to AC. You may attempt a stunning attack once per day for every four levels you have attained (but see Special), and no more than once per round. Constructs, oozes, plants, undead, incorporeal creatures, and creatures immune to critical hits cannot be stunned.

A little debate between friends, thanks for any input.

Hi all, so we just finished up playing Dragon's Demand, and with 5 players, they ended up halfway through level 5. They are attached to their characters, so they wanna continue on. My question is...does anyone have any ideas on what I can link them to next? I've been looking, and it seems most of the level 5/6 modules I'm finding are already in the middle of a story that started at level 1, or they take place in a completely different world. Any recommendations would be great.

Thanks everyone for the information. If voting is the deciding factor, base bard wins 2-1, however, now I have a bigger list than before, as several other builds were mentioned more than once as well. The Dwarf in the party is a support, not a controller, so maybe I'll lean towards the control aspect more than the out of combat aspects.

Hey all, was just hoping for some opinions. My group is about to run Dragon's Demand, so we are all new characters. Our group currently has a 2-handed Fighter, an Invulnerable Barb, a Skirmisher Ranger, and a Cleric. I always choose last because I like playing all classes, so I just fill in the blanks. Our blanks seem to be extensive, but the biggest I think are Face, knowledge, and a trap disabler. This is where I'd like some opinions. I figure Bard is my best option, with 2 options, Archaeologist, for traps, face, knowledge, and some ranged arrows to boot, or a plain Bard with disable device, which covers face, knowledge, non-magical traps, and I can buff/debuff instead of the ranged. What do you guys think is the better option? Or if you have another option, I'm all ears. Thanks for the help.
