BACKGROUND:

Rikiru has all but forgotten his birthname. He carelessly stowed away aboard a ship to Tian Xia as a young ratling and spent most of his youth in this alien land. He was mystified by the strange culture across the sea; luckily for him ratfolk were known as Nezumi in this strange land and not shunned quite as harshly as his homeland. He even earned the good graces of an old ninja master who offered to teach him his ways after a few services were provided.

He now journeys far from Tian Xia, mementos in hand and stories kept under tight lip. Whether he is fleeing from his past or leaving tragedy behind, few can discern; he has no desire to return to either home, preferring to instead sate his curiosity by seeing more of the world and experiencing its wonders. His travels take him north through Taldor now, following odd rumors of unusual seasons to the village of Heldren. The cooler weather seems to agree with him and he is eager to see how the people of colder regions live. Having spent the last few days on the road with no one to talk to, he is eager for something to eat besides rations and is ready for a real bed...
