"I like that everyone is connecting with their weapons, but how much damage are we really doing to these things?" Rhomboid--his back turned as he retrieves a torch from a wall sconce--misses Thyste's display. He approaches the miniature city, stepping into the water to circle around it with the torch, bringing the light close so that illuminates every nook and cranny, as best as he can.

While Orenjii performs a divination for the gillmen, Rhomboid asks the other Pathfinders for light. "As a manufactured creature, my eyes are specialized, and lack the human weakness that needs light. As such, I don't typically carry a light source, but I would like to attempt to 'bring light to all corners of the world' like in the carving I studied. May I borrow a light source from someone to try that?" If granted, Rhomboid will approach the miniature city and shine light across it so that all surfaces are touched by the light.

Hi all, sorry for my disappearance. My mother has had a health emergency and things are not good; she’s now in Hospice care. I’m going to do my best to be as present as possible to finish this scenario—goodness knows I’ll relish the distraction at times—but there will likely be more unexpected absences along the way. Please don’t hesitate to bot me, and thanks for the understanding. I’ll start catching up in Gameplay tomorrow.

Rhomboid steps forward with a wave of his arm to get the Gillman's attention. "Please, my colleague is too curt. We saw the carvings on our way in, and they are fascinating. We would genuinely love to learn more, and hope we haven't made offense." Diplomacy: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (4) - 3 = 1 Is this going to be the run where we fight the gillman? Tune in next week to find out!

Rhomboid has no concerns over taking time to study the carvings. "Janira did say that we're here to learn why the gillmen visit this place, and why now at the full moon. These carvings could certainly help illuminate some of those reasons." However, his education was focused in different directions, so he hopes that perhaps his keen eye--more than any particular schooling he may have had--will help him uncover some of the mysteries. Hi all, this is a heads-up that I'm in a wedding tomorrow, and will be leaving work soon to get ready for the rehearsal/dinner. Given that I'm never good at posting on weekends, that means I probably won't post again until Monday. If I'm holding things up, feel free to bot me.

"Don't forget to take a look at that body, Orenjii." Rhomboid calls out. He waits for everyone else to jump across or climb out of the pit, then makes his own running jump to the other side. Acrobatics, take 10: 10 + 7 = 17

Rhomboid approaches the edge of the pit; his face scrunches up in concentration. "Hmmmm..." he begins. "You know, it would be much easier to traverse this if there weren't spikes in the bottom of this pit. Whoever designed this trap clearly thought it through." After a few more moments of study, he turns to the other Pathfinders. "Rope! How could I forget rope? These memory banks are supposed to be infallible, and yet there's no rope in my backpack." That still doesn't solve the spikes, but solving that part is moot if we can't get down there.

I wanted to give you some notice that I will be away this weekend. Pretty close to 24 hours after this post--around 1PM EDT on Friday in the US--I will be leaving for the weekend, returning sometime on Sunday. I probably won't resume posting until my usual time on Monday morning.

"Of course we eat. Our bodies are manufactured--sure--but they still operate on much of the same biological processes that yours do. There are enhancements, sure, and you can clearly tell that there's some significant variation in programming, but we eat just the same." He smiles, happy to have cleared that up. "We even have preferences, and enjoy some foods more or less just like you do! The Wizard Palmer was partial to imported fish from the River Kingdoms. My programming reflects that; I've always enjoyed and selected seafood items wherever I've traveled."

Okay, barebones HeroLab text output is up. I also changed genders. Still need to do some shopping; Rhomboid has 300 gp left to spend; at least 80 gp will be spent on clothing and jewelry to activate his fashionable trait. @TOP, yes, the boon is from 9-00 and lets you create a new PC with 3 xp, 4 pp, and 1500 gp. He's also using a boon from 7-00 that grants an extra trait, which is why he's starting with three of those. I keep second-guessing the trait I chose, though, so I might update which trait he chose from that boon. I will do that today or tonight if I do, though.

"Greetings," a dapper-looking man offers in introduction. "I'm known as Rhomboid. I am an android designed by Technomancer Palmer of Numeria, from his 'shapes' series of creations. You should not doubt your confusion. The name was assigned seemingly at random; I bear no resemblance to a rhombus that I can identify either. I believe he found it humorous, though I can't say for certain; he is hard to read. Most flesh-types are hard to read, in fact." "Never mind that, though," he continues. "I was introducing myself. Mr. Palmer sent me into the world to become the best possible swordsman. After much analysis, it was determined that the Aldori Swordlords, with their style that depends on quickness and accuracy in contrast to blunt strength was most effective, so I have been training with them as of late. It was also decided that the Pathfinder Society presented the best opportunity for testing the effectiveness of my training. And so, I am here. And now I am meeting you all."

I'd rather take my time to make sure I get it right on the 2nd go round. The nice plus for you is that, at 1st level, all of your retraining is free, so the PC is essentially a blank slate (except for whatever purchases you made along the way). Discovering that at 4th level could have been devastating, as you'd have made multiple decisions along the way that would cost you a bunch of gold and PP in retraining.

I didn't get around to copying Rhombia's profile over last night, so I still need to do that later today. Sorry for that! I promise to get at least some bare-bones HeroLab stats up tonight. First post will follow that. My vote for tier is Tier 2, only because I've never played that tier and--with this many 2nd level PCs, it's a rare opportunity to see that tier in play!
Hi TOP! Rhombia is a newly-built level 2 Fighter that I'd like to bring to this game. She's an Android going for the Aldori Swordlord prestige class. (I can provide the boons used for Android and to start at level 2). She will be my sole playthrough of this scenario at level 2. I'm not a new player, but hopefully the presence of a level 2 PC will be welcome for the new players that are along. I'll need to get her profile online before we start, but she's entirely built in HeroLab, ready for export when I get home. Thanks for running! |
