Background:
Kiaria was raised in the town of Tamrivena, a paranoid border settlement, in the Palatinate of Canterwall in the Kingdom of Ustalav. Born of Varisian descent, her father Harnin a fearless criminal and her mother Glynda a dancer, Kiaria's childhood consisted of lessons in gypsy culture while surviving difficult bouts of poverty. Growing up the daughter of a reputed Sczarni, Kiaria suffered endless scrutiny at the hands of the local Wallguard, and although interrogated several times, never revealed the details of the many crimes she witnessed as a silent accomplice. These younger years have shaped Kiaria's perception of the law, giving her a righteous sense of justice through thievery. "Steal only to survive, and take only from those who can afford to share" was a code shared on a familial level and often gave Kiaria peace of mind when committing crimes.

During her teen years, Kiaria along with her two older brothers Opor and Minnarn, were slowly but surely inducted in to the ranks of the nefarious Sczarni. Committing minor crimes at first, planned by their aging father, Kiaria blossomed in to a skilled con artist, running sham card games and performing card tricks with sleight of hand. Meanwhile her brothers were becoming hardened thugs, and in an effort to protect their younger sister, began distancing themselves from their beloved sibling.

When Kiaria was fourteen, Her father had her mentored by a charming pick-pocket by the name of Chenzo Frallino. During her tutelage, Kiaria fell madly in love with her newfound instructor and the two soon became not only lovers but also great friends. Many times, they survived harrowing encounters together while plying their illegal trade, and this only served to strengthen the bond between them as time passed.

Recently things have changed in Tamrivena, and the already pervasive suspicious attitude of the Wallguard has reached new heights. Banishing Kiaria's family to the ramshackle gathering of wagons and huts known as Nathrus village on the outskirts of the western wall, Captain Balton Rhasrakin has instigated a meticulous citywide purge of the gypsy network and has since refused entry to any suspected of being Sczarni affiliated. This has resulted in a rash of Varisian arrests, many of which were hauled off to the dungeons underneath the Traitors Tower of Fort Vhiled and never heard from again.

One Year ago Kiaria and her boyfriend chenzo stumbled into an awkward situation. A travelling scholar had come to Tamrivena gathering research for one of his many projects. Kiaria's brothers, now heartless stick-up men, had cornered the professor before he could gain enrty to the town proper, and threatened to take his life if he did not give them what they wanted. But the scholar refused, stating that he was a man of principles and that sometimes you must be ready to die for what you believe in. For some reason, Kiaria felt mercy for the traveller and together her and Chenzo engineered and escape for the stranger, successfully spiriting him beyond the village and into the town. Unfortunately while distracting a patrol of Wallguard, Chenzo was captured and subsequently taken into custody. The stranger, filled with relief and happy to be alive, introduced himself as Professor Lorrimor, and before parting ways mentioned that he would not forget Kiaria's kind favor.

Although in her heart, she had hoped Chenzo would someday escape his imprisonment, Kiaria slowly began to realize she had probably lost her beloved to the dungeons. She became cold and distant, refraining from family activity and shunning her fathers teachings. Spiraling into a depression, she experimented with various drugs culled from the pockets of unsuspecting marks. Although still a novice user, she has found a particular fondness for Pesh, not only for its incredible high but also its relatively cheap price.

It had been nearly a year since Chenzo's disapperance when Kiaria received the summons to Ravengro nearly fifty miles to the south. Apparently the professor they valiantly rescued had perished, and her presence was requested for the funeral. With her life in Tamrivena in shambles, Kiaria decided to turn her back on everything she has come to know and love. She has adopted her middle name "Reyelle", and has travelled to Ravengro in secret to pursuit the life of an adventurer. Meanwhile, her father and brothers blame the government for the dissappearance of Kiaria, and continue a campaign of illicit deeds and criminal enterprise.
